Yeah that would be true if Dr vagapunk did not exist and can replicate all zoan fruits he can't make logia though or rather he probably can but the finding and time wasn't done. So technically there is more than one zoan of some of the fruits.
Regardless of types it's also about how often the fruits change users. Some fruits functionally make their users immortal. Therefore they would be more rare than a fruit who's user changes more frequently for whatever reason.
Rain god is obviously the rarest and strongest, since a water fruit would still let you swim, and also control the sea making any other fruits useless.

Technically speaking, every devil fruit is as rare as the others, since there is only 1 of each at a time. The probability of you encountering the Ushi Ushi no mi - model bison, is the same as encountering the Mera Mera no mi
This also isn't even true because of the time time fruit which can just into the future effectively decreasing the chance of finding it to 0 until the user reappears which could be in an eon or longer.

All fruits respawn after their users die, and there is always only one of them so rarity is the same for all of them. But the timefruit would be the hardest one to find because if the user jumps 100years into the future, that fruit would disappear for 100 years.
for the time time fruit, the user can only go into the future, they can't go back into the past therefore when they go for like 100 years that automatically means they died meaning another one would respawn

I don't think mochi is special paramecia, and I don't remember having a special paramecia and logia, in my knowledge Katakuri's mochi fruit isn't that special, only Katakuri skill are making the mochi useful. Like Leopard, leopard isn't that good, but Lucci make it great by only using his skill.
It doesn't have logia properties, I think? Luffy said it himself. He initially thought Kata was invincible Logia-style, but in reality he was just using his super advanced color of observation to make it seem like every hit would go through him (he just made holes himself in his own body before the impacts happened to "dodge" and give the illusion).

Doflamingo produce and control strings, Trebol produce and control mucus, Mr 3 produce wax and limited control, Perospero produce and control candy, Cracker produce and control cookies, Mr 5's Bomb fruit transforms him into a bomb, Baby 5's buki fruit transforms her into weapons, Kalifa produce and control soap. Katakuri is the only one who can make his substance and become it too
i’m pretty sure paramecias have been confirmed to be the most common in universe. We’ve only seen more zoans than paramecias from our perspective. Other than that, the rarity order would go paramecias> zoans> ancient zoans> logias> mythical zoans> artificial mythical zoan I’m including the artificial azure dragon fruit since it’s a near exact copy of the real one (except for the color of the dragon) since there was only one that we’ve seen and it probably won’t reappear if Momo dies
Special paramicia types, bc in an sbs oda said that katakuri’s mochi mochi no mi is not a logia but special paramicia. And we have not gotten introduced to anymore special paramicia types(except katakuri)
Now that you mention "rain god" there is a chance that Dragon has it. Remember back in Loguetown when right before Luffy was about to be executed, a thunder struck out of nowhere which saved him. Then, in another moment massive winds came out of nowhere which saved Luffy and his crew. Not to mention the weather got pretty bad the entire time. Now, in recent chapters, we found out that Dragon did go to Loguetown on purpose. So, it could be him working behind the scene.
Except Vegapunk can already recreate even mythical zoan fruits through the lineage factor like with Kaido fruit so the rarest coming forward would be logia
We are forgetting the yami yami no mi which has to be in the anthitesis of every other devil fruit, so just as powerful as the most powerful positive one, but with a weekness to regular phisical attack It might turn out to be a mythical zoen, even tho its a logia now It does not have one main caracteristic of logias after all, which is the abuility to have things pass through your body
Many people like to focus on combat power alone, however there are quite a lot of really useful fruit that are really useful yet quite useless in combat, such as the kuku kuku no mi, which can turn any object into food, even though the foods taste quite bad, shouldn't they be able to cure world hunger with this?
I was gonna comment the same thing there all equally rare some are just more powerful it would make since if he was ranking what category of fruit is the rarest because that would show some categories have more devil fruits in them than others so there's a higher chance of getting one category over another
If rarity is defined based on the devil fruit availability, devil fruits which boosts its user's survivability will be rarer. Devil fruits like Kozuki Toki's which has had the same user for like 800 years and Imu sama's fruit if they have one can be considered extremely rare. Then there's the whole artificial devil fruit shenanigans. Kaido and Momonosuke had the same devil fruit.

@@HomnixHD I actually looked this up, Brook says himself that he can in fact die if his bones are crushed enough. This was before he gained the ability to manifest his soul outside his body though, but since it’s still connected to his body, I think he would still die that way.

I'd say imu is the earth god, (there were theories thrown around about planet names and the gorusei and the ancient weapons' names but earth was missing. Dragon being rain/storm god seems more likely. So then we're missing air god ... Maybe.. I dunno.. smoker? Kinda would be funny if a seemingly useless devil fruit (grab ya/long grab ya) would have more hidden implications/plot involved?)
In my opinion, all devil fruits are rare as only one user can acquire its power one at a time. However, you can categorize them as rare in terms of how many of each kind or type.
I'm pretty sure Shanks did say that the Gum Gum fruit was a Legendary fruit, it only made sense that someone as strong as Shanks had his hands on something like that

However, unless we are talking about artificial devil fruits, there are only one of each natural devil fruit, so the only rarity you can derive from them is whatever classification you apply to them when denoting the whole of devil fruits. The Phoenix fruit, for example, is a mythological zoan. This makes it rare in the sense that mythological zoans are the rarest kind of devil fruit that we know of, but it wouldn't make sense to discuss the rarity of the Phoenix fruit in relation to other mythical zoans because there is only one of each naturally occuring. Also, just because a fruit tends to not show up in the public very often (like the time fruit due to the user time traveling and keeping it out of the reincarnation cycle longer), does not mean that fruit is "rarer," because it still doesn't change the fact that there is only one of it. Though you could legitimately argue specific fruits if they had qualities that didn't pop up very often among devil fruits. For example, heat based devil fruits seems to be a dime a dozen, but fruits that exhibit cold based properties are much rarer (two logias and a paramecia if I remember correctly). The operation fruit and the toy/youth fruit are rare in the fact that fruits very rarely give users so many distinct powers instead of a single power with broad applications (like the rubber fruit, before the reveal, or the string fruit). The darkness devil fruit is rare in the sense that its the only logia we know of that doesn't have a "defensive" ability, and infact make attacks harm the user more due to its absorbing quality. On and on, so forth and so forth with interesting little aspects and classifications that would make certain devil fruits "rare" but not intrinsically so as compared to the whole.
The rarity of a devil fruit is actually referring to the fact that its typing or abilities are extremely unique (I.e. the fact that the mochi mochi fruit is the only special paramecia
I feel like the revive revive fruit is the rarest, as in brook’s case, if the user becomes a skeleton and then they find their body again, they are immortal and therefore the fruit cannot be in circulation anymore.

technically he doesn't have Logia properties, he can't regenerate he can just morph his body into 100% mochi and manipulate it. He is able to mimic Logia intangibility by using his color of observation Haki to see where enemy attacks will land before they connect and then by morphing his body into pure mochi he can open up holes in his mochi body to let the strikes pass through. In a way he's stronger than Logia users in that way because they lack that precise control over their elemental bodies and Katakuri stands to be immune to seastone weapons with this technique too since he's technically dodging the seastone, it never touches his body so it doesn't force him back to his human flesh like it would with a Logia user trying to allow a seastone weapon to pass through them

This means that the chances of you finding the Toki Toki fruit is lower compared to other fruits since the fruits only reform after their current user dies, and with this fruit the user can live for a lot longer (they still age like normal but because they skip periods of time it means the number of calendar years between their birth and death are much larger than normal). Toki the previous user of the Toki Toki fruit had skipped around 800 years of time meaning that from her birth to death 830 years had passed and no one else could eat that fruit for those 830 years. Compare that to other fruits where the users often use them in battle which increases their risks of dying and their fruit returning to circulation, even veteran fighters like Whitebeard; he probably ate the Gura Gura fruit when he was in his late teens or early 20s so lets estimate he ate it when he was 20, Whitebeard lived to be 77 so his fruit was only out of circulation for 57 years if he ate it at 20. If that was the norm for every user of the Gura Gura fruit that means there would have been 14 chances to eat it while Toki had the Toki Toki fruit.

Choppers fruit imo will end up being very important. Why would their be a fruit that would otherwise be worthless to a human. If there is a rain God it's clearly dragon. To say chopper could be the forest or earth God wouldn't be a stretch. He hasn't awakened it yet but he seems close with his rumble balls.

Id say the forest god is be chopper,i have a few reason: -chopper is a standing deer, made him looked like cernunnos,which is trusted as a forest god and protector in greek mythology. -Even tho he doesnt have the power to grow trees or something,that doesnt mean he wasnt the forest god,because luffy was called as the sun god even tho the fact he doesnt use any sun power -Chopper fruit looked like a mushroom.

I always kind of assumed that dragon's fruit was the rain god because of his powers over the weather and in my head I imagine how after a rainy day the sun comes out even brighter than before.
Personally i think the rarest Devil Fruit would be the Toki-Toki no mi. Since it's more than likely not existing in your current lifetime. Since the user would be jumping in time forward. It'll always be unaccounted for.

I think the revive revive fruit is the rarest. When someone dies his fruit spawns randomly somewhere in the world, but the revive revive fruit gives you another life so yeah.
I recon it’s the special Paramusia fruit aka katakurys muchi muchi fruit as it’s a paramusia but is also a logia and it’s the only one that has this propertie
They definitely mentioned something about the gum gum fruit being so sought after but no one could find it so they didn’t think it existed and that’s why I thought of that originally.
In terms of categories , I think Katakuri's fruit is the rarest as it is the only one special paramecia mentioned , which is a Logia fruit but for a man-made , non-natural substance.
The time time fruit sure, but theres also brookes' which essentially makes him immortal, pretty rare. Big mom's fruit could have allowed her to live forever as well which makes it just as "rare".
