The 63 1/3 might also be inspired by the record format 33 1/3 which was used as a parody in the title of the movie Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult.

If you play Clay Fighter for the SNES on a CRT TV, the models look a lot more like clay than they do if you play it on a LCD TV.

I rented 63 and 1/3 a lot as a kid, so when my grandmother took me to Blockbuster to buy a used video game around 2000 I bought Sculptor's cut which I had seen but never played. it just came with the game pack and I still have it.

Street Fighter was already really tame in the violence. It was very bloodless and was pretty much Saturday morning cartoon levels. Mortal Kombat, however, now that is brutal.

Actually I have heard of sculptor's cut. Though the only version of clay fighter I have physically owned is 63 1/3. Always loved that game even though I sucked at it. Clayfighter, Mischief Makers, Glover and Gex Enter the Gecko are severely underrated masterpieces 14:35 "they don't give you this information" - actually they do. If you beat arcade mode and stick around til the end of the credits, it shows you a cheat code.

I wish that Aaronitmar can explain the whole Mortal Kombat lore from MK1 to MK11 on this channel someday

The thing I think I've noticed missing from any channel or video talking about old school fighting games is, they all seem to leave out "Eternal Champions". It was a solid fighting game and I would love to see even an honorable mention from anyone.

I got a legit copy of the game from ebay a couple years ago it has a Blockbuster sticker on it. Got mine for under 200. The guy told me he originally got it from Amazon. He ordered a copy of 63¾ and they sent him Sclupltors cut he told me he originally only spent 10 bucks lol

I've seen clayfighter sculptor's cut once in the wild at flea market in box with manual and it was quite expansive it was around $1,800-2,400 dollars

The 63 and a third gag was a reference to Naked Gun 33 and a third which itself it’s a comedy parody of an action movie. It released in 1994 so highly likely to be popular among age group of game designers on this project

As the list of games was scrolling one popped up that caught my attention. Long ago I got a cartridge of Turok Rage Wars for probably like $5-10 from GameStop Never really thought much of it and it's been sitting in my closet along with my other N64. Turns out it's a gray cartridge so it was neat to learn it can be worth $700.

CF 63 1/3 is the most fun with a fighting game i've ever had despite missing the content that was included in sculptor's cut.

Boogerman's legacy would live on with the My Hero Academia minor character, Slidin' Go, who looks suspiciously similar, albeit with purple as his main color with a green scarf, gloves and the circles on his belt buckle. He even has a similar pose which he keeps all the time because with his quirk, there's no need for him to move his body while sliding around instead of walking.

One small note I would like to say I have come across some absolutely mint ex rental boxes because the box stayed at the store and the game was taken home in a rental case.

Earthworm Jim is what drew me to this game There's a game store in my city, they have this game with the box and manual It's definitely a rare gem

they didn't even rent out the boxes at blockbuster... they had one empty box on the self in front of the stack of rental games in blockbuster cases and often stuck the extras in the back for replacement display boxes I imagine or to re-pack the games into when they re-sell them.

Clayfighter was one of my favorite games of my childhood. As a prepubescent boy I found the humor very enjoyable. I rented the sculptors cut too. Only half remembered it though so wasn’t sure if it was just a fever dream.

I have Sculptors Cut! Loved playing it growing up. Might have to bring it out after all these years. I guess being a lonely kid growing up on blockbuster games and movies had its benefits.

There aren't very many photos of the first game's production outside of magazine scans and stuff Ken Pontac has hidden in an album on Facebook that only people who've friended him can see but I feel I should clear that tiny bit of misconception up. 9:07 Eh Airey's a bit of an ass in that category but yeah they certainly don't animate as well as they did in CF1. This was because Danger Productions, their usual go-to for the claymation in the games, was busy with a TV show at the time: Bump in the Night. 9:41 Honestly this is why I like C2 slightly more. Its the more interesting game to dig up old behind-the-scenes info on which there isn't a lot of but what has been leaked is interesting. Regarding the characters thing, yeah there are rumors that Ickybod Clay was at one point supposed to return and Lucy and Dr. Kiln as a final boss (and looking completely different from his 63 1/3 version) were supposed to be added. There was also a pirate weasel thrown around at one point too. 11:14 I should point out that a prototype of the Playstation version has since been leaked and includes the lost character Hobo Cop in all of his drunken staggering glory. 12:36 No what really killed 63 1/3 were memory and technical problems. Even the canned PS1 version had this as one of its reasons for being canned. That's why the sprites are super compressed and blurry and move stiffly. (Amongst other reasons) That's why 5 initial characters were cut from the game. Dev time was also a problem. Interplay has always had shit management. 15:10 No that part's a myth. Yeah he did use beer bottles and was permanently drunk if the sprites on the leaked PS1 version are anything to go by but I'm talking the 'his genitals' part. He really just dropped his pants and mooned you for a blocking animation if anything. 17:46 Yeah you wanna know why nothing came of those? In the early 2000s when I was growing up I remember buying N64 and NES games at EB games with quarters. You could get good games for like 2 or 3 dollars.

Some where out there the game exist inside different game case , because people use buy a cheap crappy game , and swap the internal board , take the game back and if questioned blame the person who hired the game before hand

As someone who has a copy of Sculptor's Cut, I only bought it because it had Lockjaw and the slight engine fixes... I didn't know of the rarity of it. And the theme song being added was just an added bonus. I think I paid $30 for just the cartridge that had some wear and tear.

We need clay fighters on the switch so they can straight up full on use the clay theme for a charming art style think I would buy it immediately

there is actually some sculptor's cuts that never were rented and of those ones its possible to get a sealed copy... more likely that is. the ones im referring to are copies that were given out in contests in limited numbers. these copies are where most of the boxes and manuals come from so ive heard. prolly maybe at most a hundred of the sculptor's cuts were contest prizes.

Whoever ordered for my local Blockbuster must have loved this game. They had a full shelf dedicated to 63 1/3 and then when Sculptures Cut came out they had half the shelf full of it. When they closed down there was a big box full of games for $5-$20. Someone out there made bank.

I played Clayfighter 63 1/3rd as a kid. I loved the game. It was fun. But I agree on its own it doesn't really stand up to other major staples in the fighting game genre
