I've been getting a lot of comments and messages about the Sonic Fruit Roll-up commercial Cel being found. Before I made this video and the script, in the past I've searched for the commercial but it wasn't online so I wrote the script under the impression it was still lost but just to let everyone know I am aware!
the fruit rollups commercial isn't lost its on youtube. just search sonic general mills fruit rollups commercial. its the one with sonic 3 in the title.
Back in 4th grade, my teacher had a Genesis with Sonic 1, 2, and Spinball AND a VHS of Adventures of Sonic with Sonic Breakout. I loved watching it and it's definitely one of the best animated episodes, but I think seeing Sketch Lampoon is what made me want to draw.
Sonic Breakout? I don't think I've ever heard that one before... Edit: Confused it with a Sonic game and it appears it was simply just an episode of AoSTH.
Man I wish my teachers were as cool as your one. If they put adventures of sonic the hedgehog on during class now days, I'd be the only one that would enjoy it and not be like 'What the hell is this crap why can't we watch something actually good'. Shame my classmates are boring and don't like sonic.
I once saw one on eBay that was just Luigi from the DiC cartoon walking away on a blank background, which made it look like Luigi simply walking into the void. I did not get it, sadly
6:44 This video came out on January 1st, 2021. An even older build dated December 4th 1992, which also had the intro implemented, was already released by this point. Also, the intro looks identical to the final, save for one altered moment with the shot of Little Planet's chain.
I actually own an animation sketch from the pilot about Dr Robotnik! When I heard that the pilot was the only episode that had actual shading, I remember that I had a sketch that I couldn’t figure out which episode it was in. I checked the found footage of the pilot and I found the scene! When I was seeing your video I was actually shocked that no actual sketch or cel has been found of the pilot. Great video by the way!
Those cells with just the characters without the backgrounds painted must be pretty rare but they look really great same I also love adventures of sonic the hedgehog
Very nice video, I have a few rare cels myself, including a SatAM promotional group shot, and a prototype Sonic Says shot. I’ll do a video on these one day, hopefully this month.

Really cool video! I sorta wanna get back into cels, maybe get some sonic ones but I don't know when since I'm not sure if I could afford them, at least right now.
Is there a good way to know when Cel animation stopped being used for cartoons? I've found trouble figuring out if certain shows used cels or not. Love your videos!
I've been looking for any satam cels for years, my collection is mostly Disney, donald duck, jiminy cricket, etc I've got a few adventure of sonic, street fighter, and dragon balls.
