Some TV shows and performances require bands to do playback so I wouldn't blame it on them. It's really a shame, cause it's not like everyone's falling for it, and it sucks.
Its because when a band performs at a awards show or tv show they sometimes have rules that it has too be playback. There is nothing the band can do about it
