Very imaginative. (This is another one which could have an alternative ending, but it would have to be something other than the obvious one of the narrator saving his beloved: that would be altogether too sugary!) Thanks for the upload.

I agree, it's a real "Horror story." Fanciful, yet grimly humanistic. Not even necessarily entertaining. Haunting, perhaps. I thought it was an interesting story because it went in surprising directions and I wondered how it would end. It's grim. Not a fave with me but I try to do justice to whatever I start out to read.
