As a Namibian i will never live in Windhoek, unless you are super rich its very expensive. Give me Walvis Bay and Swakopmund those are my favorites places to live. Affordable, few people and calm. You can walk to CBD no need of a taxi. Lol, in Windhoek just to leave your house, you need to spend money.
Are there any Videos of someone, who made videos about affortable places in namibia to discover, explore & live? ☀️ It would be so nice to see some more - and not only the rich places. Ashè
I just booked a place in Walvis Bay, w an ocean view and 2 beds, I hope a girl may want to visit. My dream is to meet the Himba in Opuwo. This trip or next.
Windhoek gives me life!!! There's an energy to that city😍😍😍 Namibia on a whole. I really have to agree with the words, *"Take me to Namibia. My soul needs to breathe"*
Accommodation in Windhoek is expensive. It started to rise in the early 2000s when Angolans came with US$ and whatever the price tenets put up they would pay regardless. It became a trend in different areas of the city. Transport is convenient with okay rates since we live in a small city. Food prices are also high, probably higher than the rest of the Southern countries and we import more from S.A. Internet might also be expensive, but compared to the prices I saw in S.A especially for data, I think we are cheaper. Everyone's experience is different. I didn't know people thought that eating white pap was seen as a sign of poverty in the North. Some of us from the North--East see it the other way round, white pap is bought in the shops and is expensive.
No one should care if they look poor or not and most certainly anyone with any kind of decency shouldn't be laughing at the poor..unreal that humans really haven't evolved for the better
I just stumbled across this video. It made me curious and I searched for homes in Windhoek. I was surprised how reasonable they are to an American like myself. For the price of an average house in the US (a little under $400,000 USD) you can get a much larger, nicer home in Namibia. Its really amazing!
Swakop and Walvis Bay. More populated and customers are there for almost everything. These towns don't produce anything other than fish so food is imported from other towns which are far. Food is marketable and coastal people can eat, am telling you 😂
To tell the truth, Windhoek city is expensive. From rent to food. Internet is expensive overall wherever you find yourself in the country. I prefer staying in small towns
Rent is expensive... You may want to see the rents on San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, California! Rent is among the hight in the world... I would love to travel to Namibia!
Hello, thanks for your nice video, iam a doctor from Egypt thinking about moving to namibia. Can you tell me what is the cost of living for one person per month in US dollars as a total ( good food+ good flat rent....etc). And do you know what is the average salary for gp doctors in the capital Thanks
Thanks for info. Just what the best way to reach from USA , do go first to South Africa etc. how is renting a car. Safety/crime tips. Internet to come when things get little normal. Thanks again from 🇺🇸 🇵🇰 🇳🇦
It is not on the wrong side. We drive on the left side and maybe in your country you drive on the opposite side so we would also say you drive on the wrong side 😅
20 Outside of the prophet messengers, any other voice is a voice of discrepancy. And that is why you take different ways. But if God must gather you, it is through a living prophet messenger and I tell you that there is a prophet messenger on the earth. [Ed: the congregation says, “Amen!”]. The Catholic leaders are voices of discrepancy; the Protestant leaders are voices of discrepancy; the evangelical leaders are voices of discrepancy; the Branhamist leaders are voices of discrepancy. All these church prophets, pastors, evangelists, bishops, reverends that you see on the whole face of the earth, they are voices of discrepancy. And according Matthew 13:24-30 and Matthew 24:31, the trumpet of God to gather the elect of the four winds is sounding today on the earth and you are hearing it with your own ears. And outside of this, they are voices of discrepancy. And he that has ears to hear, let him to hear! #prophetkacouphilippe
Why are you giving prices in USD? They don't even use US currency there! Why not Japanese Yen or Russian Rubles? Crazy! Why not in Namibian dollars? You're speaking to a world audience.
@@QueenDesta When you do videos on youtube you are speaking to a worldwide audience. Using the term "dollars" with no specification only serves to confuse your viewers. In this video itself you used the term early and your meaning was US dollars, then used the same term "dollars" later in the vid and you were referring to Namibian dollars! Check for yourself! If you need me to I'll hunt down the time stamps. Do you have any idea how many countries use the term "dollars" as the name of the units of their currency? Australian dollar, Brunei dollar, Canadian dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Jamaican dollar, Belize dollar, Liberian dollar, Namibian dollar, New Taiwan dollar, New Zealand dollar, Singapore dollar, United States dollar, Trinidad and Tobago Dollar and several others. Only trying to help you.
Wait I an confused did she say one 2 br house was $300,000 usd (est.) while another was 64,000 USD (EST.)? Don't understand sorry not trying to be rude
There is a perception that Africa is a dangerous continent. Your viewers abroad would probably be interested in detailed information on how to avoid being a victim when traveling to Namibia. Where to stay, what to watch out for would be helpful. Especially since those of a different color will stand out. Also, you and your friend seem like very nice people.
geez! I thought I had it bad here in the US! We have a duopoly (and in many places only one option) which drives our prices higher than they should be. I wonder if there is something similar going on there where there are not enough competitors
Hi Desta, thank you for the great video. If you are traveling from America to Namibia can you suggest an Airline? and do you know the route that the Airlines take traveling from America.
I recently traveled from Windhoek to New York. I took this route: Windhoek to Qatar with Qatar airlines. Qatar to John F. Kennedy Airport with American airlines.
As an American, I was taught of tribes in Africa and such, but never learned how people are now. My husband and I both were very caught off guard when first researching any African countries a few years ago. Africa is also referred to more as one country rather than an entire continent with many of it's own countries... not in schools, but American perception, often. Anyways, here we are, watching my belly move for the first time with our rainbow baby (life after loss) and researching places to move to give our daughter and any future kiddos a better, safer, more fulfilling life. Once we find one, we will start our journey in learning more languages (more specific to where we're going), and preparing more to get there. So far, Namibia is my favorite I have seen. ❤
Best regards to you, I am from Colombia, I have a pension from the Colombian army worth $450 American When I emigrated to Namibia I could live on that budget every month How much money would the 450 US dollars cost in the local currency of your country?Thank you, I will be attentive to the information
