The Real Impact: How this young couple is Cleaning Up their Community with Black Soldier Flies 

Do you know what WASTE means to you?
For Bogere Muhammad and his wife Suzan say, "Waste is a resource that is helping us improve our lives and the community."
Last year in 2023, Ento Organic Farm trained 200 farmers in the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Value Chain. Muhammad and Suzan were some of the trainees, that implemented the knowledge and skills they gained from the training. They collect organic waste and feed it to BSF larvae to; - (1) obtain organic fertilizer to grow more food, (2) obtain BSF larvae to feed their chicken, and (3) generate additional income from sales of excess products.
To date, in 2024, the two look forward to expanding their operations and train fellow members of the community.
With this successful story, Ento Organic Farm sends special thanks to the Sustainable Access Foundation (SAF), which funded the Black Soldier Fly training for Youth and Women in Kampala, Wakiso, and Mukono districts Uganda.
