Read the comments, many Jamaican's not amused😶 . The joke was playing on the idea that ; Jamaican language (patois ). Was not real , which of course it is. This guy knows that , but thought it would be funny to do that Joke. He did not deliver it well, hence the poor response. There is a segment of Jamaicans who frown at the patois dialect and those that can speak both English and patois . There is therfore some truth in someone stumbling on two "Jamaicans" not understanding each other. If you live abroad as a Jamaican for a number of years , you can find that patois has evolved and you cannot keep up💁🇯🇲🇬🇧

I'm half Jamacian , and I remember when my mom use to use some terms with me. Heck, my dad tried teaching me some too. That was until one day I asked her why she did it, and that she stop using it. I found it kinda weird as a kid. I really only remember a few words. I honestly think learning it would be hard since some slang have more than one meaning, but I suppose other slang do as well. I remember when my mom, brother, and I would go on summer trips to Jamaica to see my dad, and the reggae that was playing that had the patwa slang would go right over my head since I didn't know it, and it was said swiftly.
