After graduating in Rome, Nicolas Gentile realised that big city life was not for him. He came back to his hometown on the hills of Abruzzo and decided to build his shire to live like a real-life hobbit. To raise money for this project, he climbed Mount Vesuvius with his fellowship and threw the ring in its crater.

So be a loser who lives in a imagery world of role playing. He drives a car and wears shoes. I think there is mental condition here no one is recognizing nor addressing. The fact he's got hundreds of loser like him to follow is disturbing. Don't incourage or condone this childish behaviour. What some people do to escape their responsibilities. And pls save me the stupid argument about how he causing happiness. Happiness? 40,000 euros is only making him happy for the obvious reasons. Anyways I've said my 2 cents. Not wasting my time on a video that was given attention to a unfinished town. I bet this video was made only for new financiers. Smh.

I was born and raised in the area that Tolkien was inspired and where he lived during creating the Hobbit books. South Birmingham. Sharehole park and Moseley bog and areas around Edgbaston. Outside London the largest industrial city of England. But you can definitely relate the areas mentioned to the books

This is extraordinary! To me the Shire was always quintessentially England, and I thought it wouldn't translate well into other cultures. Maybe the Shire is part of every culture, a slower, simpler, bucolic way of life, where good food, beer, wine and merrymaking are enjoyed in large measure. Abruzzo, is well know for it's wine, I'm sure someone will tell me which local wine would pass for Bilbo and Frodo's "Old Wynyards".
