The real losers of a trade war are the same people who lose at everything else. We the people

America is rich. It's just around 90% of money belongs to 1% of American. This is not China's problem. Government should have protect jobs instead of blaming.

American promoto free trade, human rights, etc etc. But when they lose they will complain. Recently like gme stock proves the same thing, when the fund lose on the 'free trade' they start to halt and block the access of retailer.

America can't blame China for its problems. Businessmen will relocate their businesses to other countries where they can make more profits, it's natural. American workers demand shorter working hours, more pay, fewer working days and more benefits. Chinese workers are hardworking, loyal, disciplined and resilient. Which do you prefer?

I drive through Iowa every summer. There are "buy american" and "trump" signs everywhere. They also continue to elect officials that are anti- foreign anything. I would say most of them are getting what they vote for. "You can't have cake and eat it too" will always be true.

Since China entered WTO, the GDP of China grows 13 Trillion, the GDP of the USA grows 11 Trillion. Both have benefitted a lot. The problem of US is not baking the cakes, the problem is how the extra cakes are distributed.

Over 80% Chinese government officers have a science or engineer's degree. Chinese hire engineers to run their country, they know how things work. The U.S. hires only lawyers, because they know how to make illegal things legal. On Jan 6 2021 Chinese government had sentenced the former chairman(Lai xiaomin) of a huge state-owned financial company to death for his corruption, receiving bribes and committing bigamy. Meanwhile in the U.S. Trump was busy pardoning his friends, Steve Bannon and other 74 people according to the Washington Post. What an irony!

Interview US companies that moved to China and ask why, you will be shocked why they chose china over US, US companies doesn't plan to return to US due to their country not favouring them but Chinese consumers appreciate them than their homeland.... Sarah Lande and family, who hosted President Xi Jinping, are the kind of Americans who impressed many leaders in the government of China. Even the former Ambassador to the US from China, Cui Tiankai said he was impressed by the US when he was studying there and later started to work there. And it is not just them; many ordinary Chinese citizens are also impressed and want to learn from US and other western first world countries. The impact has been great because China eventually managed to carry out many reforms and made China what it is today. With the US-China exchanges in different fields and industries, the world could have benefited from this as well. However, things started to take a drastic turn during the Obama administration with its "Pivot to Asia" policy. That was when tension in the South China Sea began to heat up and "freedom of navigation" become more frequent. Then the US-China relationship has been going downhill ever since. The US has been demonising China non-stop ever since with false accusations about Xinjiang, Tibet and raising up tension in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Even Japan is using this opportunity to boost its military strength and trying to alter the Pacifist Consitution by using the "China threat" as an excuse. The good and deep impression of US and the western world among the leaders and citizens in China, in general, have now become corroded by all these actions of the West in general, especially the US. Is that how the world like this to be? Is that how the Americans and people in the West like this to be?

The truth is first, they are Chinese citizens and as such they learn Chinese in order to join the mainstream society, just as people in the US or other English speaking nations learn English to get on. But unlike the US or UK or Australia, Uyghurs are actually taught their own language as well in schools. What is often lost on many westerners is that Uyghur Muslims have a diametrically opposite lifestyle to many Muslims outside China. It would be wrong to say they are more liberal because they are as devoted to their religion as other Muslims. But their outlook is not the darkly puritanical and tightly legalistic type seen in many Muslim countries. Their women dress in colourful dresses and are not restricted movement or activity so they go out on their own and many had good education and careers. They often sing and dance with men, something regarded as taboo in many Islamic countries. Their men do not feel compelled to have beards or wear Arab robes or shun kufirs. There is generally none of the aversion to touching someone lest they are "unclean" menstruating woman or an unbeliever who is "haram". So their have much more open society than most Muslim communities. But this lifestyle was threatened by murderous jihadists from foreign countries and Uyghurs who had been influenced by them. Terrorists acts were committed by these people to destabilise Uyghur society. Had it been successful, do you think the unique Uyghur way of life would not be changed into something resembling that of Saudi Arabia or Brunei? Women would be forced to wear burqas and only allowed out if they had a make guardian accompanying them, etc. Arabic would displace Uyghur as the language of education. China is actually protecting the Uyghurs' traditional way of life, while allowing them to evolve into modernity. But Xinjiang IS part of China, and all this has to take place in the context of China's national plan of development and laws. It would be foolish to think it can be otherwise.

The good relationship between US and China depends vitally on the clear mind of politicians on both sides. Economy is the survival ground of both nations. Nothing else. so play it well according to the treaty both sides agreed upon.

The problems of America's society are the private companies, while they create competitions, they also re-enforced people's greediness toward money. In a market economy, money is the most important thing, not any country nor any government. The control has to be there and be there a lot. the US government just doesn't have that much influence on the economy.

CNA did a great job on presenting the issues and problems we have today between the US and China. The problem is what the lady at the end of the video said about developing our own strengths to compete. It is clear that the US government doesn't see China in those terms. As the hegemon of the world, it sees itself as the ruler of the world and makes rules that benefits itself and makes other subservient. Clearly, the US sees China as an economic threat and in particular, a technological threat. It has weaponized IP and imposes tariffs to degrade China's economic and commerce position. It's last hurrah is in technology, but herein lies a problem for the US, it is expending too much energy throwing sand into China's rise that it is damaging itself more than it is with China. In particular, the war in semiconductors is having blowback and the US is losing. In 2022, American semiconductor companies lost $1.5 trillion in valuation caused by their loss of the China market, with sales and profits falling off a cliff. China is driving on steroids to be self sufficient in semiconductors as the US suppresses exports of not only semiconductors, but software and production machinery. All this has done is to accelerate China's drive to be self sufficient. Between 2020 and 2022, 30 new foundries were built in China. The fab portion of the semiconductor process has been China's weak point. In the first 7 months of 2022, China imported 43 billion chips, but exported 160 billion chips. China is producing over a billion chips a day to feed its domestic and export needs. The goal is 900 billion chips a year by 2025. Further, a study by ASPI says that China leads in 37 of 44 emerging technologies, if so, the US is losing its technology monopoly. The major reason for this, is the fact that China outproduces the manpower needed for technology. China graduates 8 times more STEM students than the US and there is now a brain drain as most Chinese students studying in US universities head home instead of staying in the US. On top of that, there is a steady flow of senior Chinese scientists, engineers, and tenured professors headed back to China because of the toxic environment in the US against Asians. Some 1400 headed back to China in 2021 and an estimated 2000 are forecasted for 2022. Great job CNA. Great research and presentation of the source of Sino-US conflict. Hopefully, governments and people from both countries will figure out a way to get a long in a bi-lateral accepted way. The manufacturing jobs would not be back to the US even though we can force them to ignore the huge Chinese market and get out of China, which I doubt. Jobs would most likely move to Vietnam, Mexico or India if they would get out of China. So wake up if you still hope politicians like Trump would do any good for your career besides getting your vote. Learn something else, or start a small business of some kind would be more helpful.

There isn't any "trade war." There's a trade imbalance, in which America is running a deficit in its trade with China that amounted to 187 billion dollars in the first 7 months of 2021 alone.

watched lots of videos about job loss and the trade war. The US always blames others. None of them have mentioned that people are too lazy in the US now compared to 20 years ago. We all love freedom and democracy, however, there is a subtle difference between those concepts and be selfish and irresponsible.

Well, China has almost occupied all the islands west of our country and has threatened to shoot our fishermen by their navy.
