An iron shovel has 250 durability, yours was on half health when you got it. This means you can shovel up about 125 snowballs, which makes 31 blocks. The spawn radius is 24 blocks, you can make about 5-6 spawnable blocks by building out in a straight line, before you have to grind for another shovel.
But when he got more block its gonna be easier to get more shovel+getting %100 shovel is near impossible but if he get enough for 24 it would be soo much faster cuz zombie can spawn without suffering
@@prosamisTechnically yes, but running up and down those stairs would be a pain, and probably not worth it for an extra few spawnable blocks. I think he'll go for straight bridging.
Good catch, that is indeed the wildest CC slip-up,,, though by no means the only one. 1:05 extrapolate that principle -- "their" 4:04 [as] soon as i unpaused the game -- "i'm pause" (and probably plenty more minor ones like 3:37 unpaused -- "unpause" / 21:59 doubled -- "double")
@@lostkostinI think he meant block types. I've watch other one-block challenge, so I won’t spoil, the objective being having as much snow blocks as possible for now!
So much more entertaining than watching those challenges where the player just reverts their world to an earlier version and then gets like 256 blocks for free. Great video and I’m definitely going to watch more.
Wow, you are actually doing this. I was getting mad at all the "one-block" challanges where they technically have infinite blocks, which also switch to more and more useful stuff as time goes on. Ive been looking forward to a vid like this for a while.
good luck on your journey to the dried kelp block! I think it's the hardest block to get in this challenge since you can't get lava or stone. The process is like this: - build enough snow in a line to get mobs without the void thing. - use mob drops like iron (trapdoors), glowstone (dust), slime blocks, or string (wool) to expand the platform slowly into an automatic mob grinder - get an emerald from foxes that spawn on albert (or get baked potatoes from burning zombies to turn into emeralds with the trade rebalance) - buy oak sapling from wandering trader to grow on albert (its risky but you can redo if you get unlucky or buy podzol or moss) - get apples - breed pigs (if you can, you should buy podzol or moss and turn to farmland to farm carrots but its not necessary) (and hopefully pigs spawned or you need more grass which you can get via moss/rooted dirt and grass spreading) - get pigs struck by lightning until you get 8 gold ingots (it would be nice if at this point you bought a water bucket and used glass bottles/cauldron to get infinite water, which allows you to turn zombies into drowneds for copper for lightning rods but not necessary) - craft golden apple - lure witch to zombie villager and get her to splash him with weakness, then use the golden apple to cure villager - repeat to get villager farm - farm carrots or something idk to get ez emeralds - buy kelp - trade with fisherman until he gives you a campfire - cook kelp into dried kelp block :)
@@BudgetMCyeah, that’s, what, 5 minutes after editing? What’s taking so long? (Toxicity 🎵 in my city 🎶) Keep the challenge paced, have fun in the journey, edit lightly as you do it, it’ll grant views, yt money, and positive comments. 😊
@@gweltazlemartret6760 That hasnt been the case for a long time, My memory says thats only a thing in below 1.7. I would be worried about endermen falling OFF the block and maybe grabbing the block on the way down.
@@funky555 oh, wasn’t aware that was patched up. As I said, I kinda recalled that from memory, it was a pain at that time to have crops removed because enderman was in the mood to do so. :D Not sure they can naturally fall down and pick a block at the same time, i think they have to be standing idle in front a block for some time before picking it? Even if possible, that would still be a very (un)lucky event that wouldn’t happen even on someone's dream.
"About a month in the making" You sir are insane. I dont know if in a good or bad way but you still have my respect O.o You also have my thoughts and worries, please take a proper break O.o Jesus xD
WOW BudgetMC from looking at your channel I saw this is your first ever video! This was an INSANE challange and you defenitly gained a sub and like from me!!! I really hope this channel blows up (as it should) and please continue the series (although it would be a lot of work) Anyway, AMAZING video, I loved it and think lots of others will too!!
This is my favorite type of skyblock ever since Pinu proved you can start like this. By the way, it seems you forgot that it's dark enough during the thunder for the hostile mobs to spawn so you didn't have to wait for the night time.
Knowing you from your eu4 videos, having this show up in my recommendations, then hearing you say "this is budgetmonk" was so trippy lol. Didn't know you had a minecraft channel.
When you introduced us to the Grass Block, named "Arnold", I instantly thought of Arnold Schwarzenegger. So when you asked us to name the Grass Blocks' friend, I just had to suggest the name "Franco", as in "Franco Columbu". I think it's safe to say that Franco Columbu was Arnold Schwarzenegger's best friend, so, yeah, there you go, haha! I would like to nominate "Franco", as the name for the snowy friend of Arnold :) Do with that what you wanna :p (Arnold Schwarzenegger is "That guy from the Terminator", yes, in case any of you didn't know, among other things~ ) Reaaallyy hope this becomes a series and we get to follow your journey, keep it up dude, thanks for making this vid!
The dedication is insane man, congrats! The good thing now is that every block you get, you’re gonna get exponentially more blocks since it’s more surface area for snow to land on. So you’re world is gonna get big fast.
You've earned my respect, good sir. You aren't like those other youtubers who boast on and on about their seemingly long challenge videos and how "99% of players FAIL" or whatever and how they should like subscribe hit the bell icon join patreon give money merch blah blah blah. What I see is someone who has dedication not just to please some algorithm, but someone who's genuinely determined, someone willing to do the impossible, someone who'd spend a whole month just waiting for a shovel zombie to spawn just for us to see a second block in a single block world, and THAT'S the work I'm looking for in a Minecraft video: Serious undying true dedication. You've earned a subscriber with their bell rung, and a like + comment.
Much love my brother! Like I said in the video. At one point I abandoned the idea entirely. I am just so happy that some of the "work" payed off. So cool how many people enjoy the video!
youre insane for this and the dedication is immeasurable just the smallest things probably make you so happy and restore your faith to keep grinding this big props man love to see where this goes gl ❤
Wow man, your dedication and ingenuity for this grueling challenge was very cool to watch and you made it fun and engaging with your personality. You’ve earned another sub! :)
Brother I’m loving your style and overall story telling! Keep doing What you are doing dude you’ve earned yourself a sub I’m excited to see the future of this !!
this deserves way more views. you put so much work into it, and it’s so cool! looking forward to the rest of the series. also you should name the snow block alfred
20:55 He said he wants more grass blocks. How would he get more grass blocks? Wandering trader? But no emeralds to trade with... do endermen ever spawn already holding blocks?
I believe the reason it took so long for mobs to spawn is because the local difficulty was still too low in the spawn chunks and the difficulty goes up the longer you stay in a area
Local difficulty doesn't increase the chance for mobs to spawn. The reason it takes so long for mobs to spawn is because the way Minecraft chooses a spawn location is by selecting one column that's within 128 blocks of the player, then spreads the chance between the bottom of the world and the highest block (the grass block), so it's basically a 1/100000 chance per tick or 1/5000 chance per second for a mob to spawn.
@@Pudding5433basically more armour and tools on zombies, more enchantments on skeletons and zombies and more spiders with potion effects on them. And an Illusioner gets his signature blindness spell
When I was real young, I have a memory of an older sibling having names for random things, and I was inspired to name a random lone freckle on my foot "Arnold" So your world name really speaks to me
Dude , you’ve just become a legend without even noticing it … I can’t imagine how much perseverance you need to keep doing this series !!! Truely crazy
Nice one! Maybe I wil ltry this next. Now after 10 years I'm trying to get back to Minecraft as a old geezer and survive on skyblock hardcore to impress my kids xD
Call him "sans" I think it's the perfect name for a snow block (Honestly I just tried to come up with the most random name, but apparently, in Undertale, there is a pile of snow with the word "sans" on it. So it even has a deeper meaning)
You need to publicize this everywhere it’s so monumental to actually have a video where it’s just vanilla Minecraft one block and u somehow got the smarts enough to pull it off !! Amazing work
This guy will be big one day, for not quitting. First video of him, and I’m here the first video. I will be here at all your videos bro I promise!! Although the challenge is boring for you the video isnt, it’s original while a lot of big creators can’t even think of one. Happy to say I am here the first vid!
As I approached the end of the video I checked your channel, BEGGING that there was a following video. AND THERE IS 3 OTHERS! I’m gonna watch them and enjoy them as much as I can! You gained a subscriber :) Well done for this incredible grinding, firstly coming up with the idea, a plan to achieve it, and then achieving it! Purely splendid.
I like how it is genuinely a 1 block start and has to do elaborate shit to keep going instead of some clickbait trash where they have some extra rule that completely defeats the purpose of the challenge
this video help me more appreciate every block and every world there is in minecraft. i realize that minecraft can give me infinity and its up to me to make the most of everything.
For anyone planning to do this self-torture of a challenge. I'd recommend making the world have experimental trading turn on. with it, the wandering trader has a few trades that give you emeralds. one of them being buying baked potatoes, which like everything else in this challenge is a nightmare, but you have to kill burning zombies and they have a chance to drop potatoes, which will be baked since they're on fire. then you can trade them for emeralds to buy Podzol for more dirt, and saplings, preferably oak so they can drop apples to cure zombie villagers. without cheating or experimental trades there is no way to get wood. A few other key unobtainable items are Lava, Stone, and Obsidian. Without Lava you can't make a cobblestone generator, without cobblestone you can't make a lot of decorative blocks, stone tools, furnaces, and others. and without obsidian you can't go to the nether to barter which would unlock many things. if you're wondering how you would cure zombie villagers, pigs spawn on grass, lightning turns pigs into piglins, piglins drop gold.
This is genuinly the best minecraft concept ive ever seen (and trust me ive seen quite some minecraft videos) well done, and thanks for making this video❤
