What is wrong with the natural Community natural hair has its own issues natural hair gets breakage damage shedding. I'm going back to relax I retain more length being relaxed

Idc im never going back natural. My hair has never been healthier and full. The minor breakage I’ve had compares nothing to the 10 years I was natural

Natural hair can be difficult to master due to single strand knots, but I think it is healthier in the long term. Most of the RU-vidrs who I follow with relaxed hair just cover it with a wig or wear extensions or they are having set backs and trouble growing it past shoulder length. So for me, I will stick to being a heat trained natural for now.

Oh wow, it's crazy I also decided never to allow anyone in my hair after I got my hair damaged at a random metro Atlanta (Smyrna) dominican salon. I'm not a professional hair stylist but I've always been extra serious about my hair and mostly did it myself. Just like you, I decided I would treat myself and go get my hair done for my birthday because I had positive past experiences at dominican salons. Long story short, the rude stylist did what she wanted to do and gave me severe heat damage that took me years to recover from. I rarely comment on RU-vid but our hair misfortune stories are so similar that I had to say something, lol. Mine happened in 2016 and I was able to regrow my hair. Don't give up on your hair, it WILL grow back longer and healthier than before!

Yes, the same thing happened to me at a Dominican salon back in 2018, I was going consistently every two weeks while I was in college, they gave me both heat AND chemical damage, I had to go natural in 2019 and start all over, but my hair is much healthier and longer now.

I love how transparent you are with your journey & even your setbacks. Main thing I dislike about the natural hair (so-called) community is the lack of accountability. Every time a relaxed lady has a setback, it's "oh the creamy crack took her hair out, we told you so" but never any accountability for why so many naturals have see-through gaps in the back of their heads, no edges, scalp infections etc. Every time a natural has a setback, they blame it on either a product, heat, a stylist or something else & that's sad. I even heard a knucklehead say natural hair doesn't split & never needs trims. Some of them delulu fr 😅

Looking through the contents, I honestly I thought I was the only one who experienced breakage while going natural. I don’t do relaxed hair, but do keratin treatment with my hair. I gotta say I retain length and my hair is more healthy than my natural hair.
