The REAL Reason Khadgar Is Not Who You Think He Is! 

Not to be that guy per say, but its established in Legion via quest dialog that Khadgar doesnt like riding Gryphons and such and prefers his raven form from Atiesh. Interesting take though.

And xalatath was supposed to know that anduin was finally able to find the light again at that precise moment to bring him back? Nice speculation video but there are lots of forced notions.

In addition, he was suddenly able to transform into a raven without a staff... he wouldn't have been able to do that without a staff... since he could only take on the form because of the staff. He even said himself in Legion that the raven form comes from the staff

Something I haven’t seen a lot of people pick up on yet is how many hints and reminders of Medivh have been laced throughout the opening of TWW. It strengthens the ‘Pawm Khadgar’ theory OR usurps it, since the original Lord of Ravens IS Medivh, and he told us he WOULD be returning one more time, when the true final battle begins. Rewatch the human cinematic intro from Warcraft 3, then go and watch Khadgars escape from the a dark heart. True, Khadgar has some extra drama happening, but both cinematic are basically… a raven desecends from the heavens, lands before a king, becomes human, and delivers a message It would be difficult to argue that this wasn’t intentional on blizzards part, especially in their 20th WoW anniversary year when the past is such a focus for them.

Interesting theory. I'm not completely convinced yet but I cannot outright dismiss what you say either. Will be fun to see if you end up being right or if Blizzard just dropped the ball on storytelling once again.

I think it's him. There are references to the past with Alleria that he talks about. The imposter wouldn't have that type of knowledge. The arm, that could have been the first of the changes with the arcane, remember, it was cloaked in the void and the arcane is darkened to almost invisibility by void. He allowed himself to be taken so that he could spy on HER and what the plan was. He still has knowledge we need to find. Being dead isn't all that easy, and Anduin brought him back. How could Xal'atath know that he would die and Anduin would be there to step in to save him? That's way too unpredictable, especially given Anduin's inability to wield the light when Khadgar was still around. He wouldn't be able to anticipate the King's abilities to come back. Neither could Xal'atath. That's way too much left to chance and she's not given to doing that. I do believe we'll see both him and Medivh again, teaming up to help us fight off that evil in the end.

I dont think Blizz would tell the story this way. I agree that it could be and that it would be interesting. The entite lord of ravens thing could just be Khadgar porting Dalaran to Dornogal. That was what triggers the events anyway.

Tbh I'm not convinced. I think it's just retirement for Kadghar, and he deserves it. He's been omnipresent since WoD, and I guess people are growing tired of him. And time has passed since DF The young/old man is even older. I think the writers just want to put Anduin/Alleria back on the main stage. I agree that him showing up 5min after being presumed dead was a little strange, but it's just a ploy to "give back" light to Anduin as he brings him back to life. We'll see Kadghar again if a New Dalaran is build. And for the hand that dissapear during the blast, I guess it's just him turning into Arcane power, not getting dissolved by the black mist. Imo It's not as deep as you think, but I kinda hope you're right. It would be more fun ! Keep the vids coming anyaway !

The moment i see khadgar pop a wheelie in his ghost chair I'll trust him. Until then i trust he'll never take the stairs.

That look khadgar gives anduin was enough for me to think something was fishy. Does it mean khagdar is not khadgar? No, but it does make one wonder what just happened. I really hope it's not true, though. I really like khadgar.

I agree with you! I think this might be Khadgar but he came out of The Dark Heart as a plant! The energy that Khadgar formed from was Arcane & Void light pinkish & dark purple! Something was off with the look he gave Anduin after supposedly being resurrected! If this is a broken Khadgar he may not even know he is a spy for Xal'atath!!!

and even if that is Khadgar... if the heart converts arcane magic into void... doesn't that mean that Khadgar was completely void energy for a while?

There are still some possibilities Khadgar is Medivh.

Khadgar either cast Dispersion or Disenchant, and then Recast to himself for the upgrade and different stats.

Another point that can be made, has any person ever willingly been let out of the Dark Heart like that? We've only seen it release energy attacks and leak black blood when damaged. What's stopping Xalatath from just vacuuming his arcane essence, even if it was true? Can't wait to see how this unfolds 🤔

I don't really think this theory will pan out, but there are quite a few that agree with parts or all of this. Am I the only one jolted out of the intenseness of the cinematic when Khadgar says "Like he'll you will"? I've never heard any mention of hell in wow before. They don't have a he'll, they have the Shadowlands and the Maw. Unless I've missed something somewhere.

Omg, he is a WIZARD, when we are all mages. I believe that that was one of his copies fighting Xalatath. When he, himself, is exploring smth smwh🤷 "Lord of the ravens" - that can easily be the OG Medivh. We still dont know where he is🤷

I don't think that Kadgar is dead. I think you're spot on that there is no way he could have survived. However Blizzard is going to pull some BS and say "he was alive the whole time". Maybe he's going to come back as a Raid Boss fully under the control of Void Mommy

The idea is cool on theory, but Khadgar seems like himself but hurt weekend and wounded, and Anduin called on the light, and a high chance he called for the sacried flame which is arcane/holy/fire all of which go against the void it would actually burn away the gies it's possible he's being used but unlikely replaced and he was a Arcane raven not a physical one the staff gives him a polymorphic form where famillers are made with Arcane. And using magic in the way would have untold consequences since he'd change the matter and look at alchemy, and its representation in the game transmutation can almost kill the in game characters lol

The void sees all timelines they just don't know which will come to pass so xalatath is gambling on the events. So it's possible she saw a timeline where anduin got his light back

The whole ending of this xpac is lame, she can teleport but cant dodge to protect the heart? I'd love to have that plot armor for raiding. Lame writing strikes again.

Even if this theory end up not being true, the fact that we saw his hand being disintegrated in the video and he came back with his hand still attached is a clear indication that Blizzard doesn't really pay attention of what they are doing.

you forgot something important in lore! Maybe you don't know! The real guardian, Medivh! Look at Karazhan Dungeon in Legion expansion. There is a plot they made!

So xalatath catches an arrow in her hands in one cinematic and in the next cinematic she has something important in her hands and just lets it get destroyed by an arrow. That didn’t add up to me at all. Could just be segmented writing

I can't bring myself to believe khadgar is an imposter or working for her, it's too speculative and going on the assumption that he didn't have his staff even though it was taken into the void with him as she basically destroyed dalaran with it. It is far fetched for me but it does leave room for doubt, but I'm a lore fan and to lose him like that after losing tirion, varian too and to lose one of the best left in the game I couldn't bare it, lol too many favorites for me to lose even voljin too, blizzard needs to quit killing off their major players so to speak. And one thing that bothered me is why in shadowlands if varian died in legion why wouldn't he make an appearance in shadowlands or even while anduin is in the maw on his journey to find himself again that his father doesn't come to him and help him with his doubt or something? Just so much left untouched yet I guess, as for khadgar I hope he wouldn't turn on us and I don't believe he would but if she killed him and took over as him then why after alleria didn't realize that drendon was really what's her name lol can't spell it right, phone keeps "fixing" it, wouldn't she work on sensing her and not be fooled again?? Nah I'm sure this is the real Khadgar. Your theory has many flaws, the biggest one being that Khadgar dies right after escaping and is only alive because Anduin is able to resurrect him. He may be a sleeper agent, perhaps, but he IS the real Khadgar.

Several holes in this logic stream as follows. I really agree that he might not be Khadgar, however the reasoning given in the video does not gel with the video clips in this video. I don't think we should take literal that his hand was missing and avoiding gryphons sounds really forced and illogical as a key reason. On the other hand the way he teleported Alleria away, his worda bout a later battle, and the way he came back so easily seem to indicate that battle he referenced has not happened yet... at that time Alleria will play a key role and there is something missing. Some kind of key that needs to be turned.

First and foremost, traveler. Khadgar isn't the everyday mage, nor is he a guardian. It is true that he has turned the five keys (arcane runes), which lead to the invasion of Azeroth. He was a puppet of the Legion! We all knew Khadgar wasn't a match for Xalatath, a solo mage vs a mythic raid boss is a failure 😂 she didn't intend to kill him, she had extracted every bit of information she needed already (dead mage) she wanted to merely give Khadgar a taste of the void energies in which harbors 😮 did he become an agent of the void? That would have been a plot, but not likely to happen...
