In regards to the comparison between the Street Glide Special vs the Ultra Limited, I am in complete agreement with the styling points mentioned in the video, but I would like to throw in a little kudos for the handling of the Street Glide as well. I’ve owned several models of bikes by HD, and that includes 72’ shovel head, 72’ Sportster, 82’ Wideglide, 2016’ Breakout, 2019’ Deluxe, and now a 2020’ Street Glide. Each one having it’s own strong and weak points when doing serious travel. The Street Glide, thanks to it’s lower stance, is very agile, given that it has a lower center of gravity, cornering at a little faster speed is effortless and I feel comfortable and in control, which is of great importance since I drive in Colorado’s mountains alot in the summer. It is also great in high volume traffic areas in the city where stop and go is the norm. Nowhere near the heating issues I had in my shovelhead and breakout. Overall comfort on the Street Glide is exceptional and it is a well balanced bike, and you can add on all kinds of goodies to achieve the final look you want. I never really considered a bagger when owning my other bikes, but after buying one I realize that we’re always learning something new in the Harley experience, and I’m stoked about my Street Glide. Go get one, you won’t be sorry.

The major problem with a street glide is the wind buffering hitting the batwing fairing. The road glide is where it’s at IMO. Less of a workout for long rides as the fairing is fixed to the frame and takes all the wind. That and they look better imo.

Have had others. Don't have a sg, but would like one. My heritage beat the shit out of my back on Michigan roads. There it's a reason sg's are so popular, and it's mostly about comfort without sacrificing looks. I'm a nonconformist, and I've nonconformed to the thought sg's are cookie cutter. I love pizza and I'm not dissuaded by the fact everyone else loves pizza. My next bike will be a sg- comfort and sleek looks. I'm down with it. You want a 1-hour-ride bike? Have at it. I have a 2014 and love it. Two main things to do them. First, cam, heads, air and map. Makes that 103 come alive. Mine specked out at 116lb torque and 103 hp. 100 torque at about 2000 rpm. Next and just as important, replace the rear shocks with something that can make the bike handle right. I put on a set of Terry Cable shocks. Same ride height but 1" more travel. I did not stop there. I changed out the front fork dampener but left the spring stock. Amazing the difference. Handling is a 10. Tight in the corners. Glides down the road. Might be a 'me too' bike, but I made it my own.

Well Sean this is how it started at least in my area. Younger People was buying the standard then take all the Crome and badging off then putting a short windshield on it and putting they’re own radios on them all for around 13 to 15,000. The motor company took that and ran with it... give the radio back. No crome and color options. Because the standard only came in black. Then marked it up to 25 to 30,000. Smart of the company but people should have demanded the cheaper standard with a color options because nobody keeps it stock. But it is all about the might dollar! Thanks for the vid bro...

I normally don't comment, but here goes. I have a 2011 streetglide, and mine did come with a tour pack. I installed the bars myself on mine. If you run the wires through the bars, it's difficult, but it's possible to do yourself. Still cost me about $1200 when all is said and done, and you still need to take it to the dealer to have your breaks bleed, if it has abs, as the dealer has the program and they haven't released the info to the aftermarket world yet. But it is possible to disconnect the abs system all together. Also a downfall for the newer bikes with abs is you have to have the dealer change your breakfluid every 2 years or your abs will break.

I traded in my 2005 RK towards a 2011 Road Glide, not too happy with the wind bobbing my head around at 60mph! It does have the flared windshield and I had plans on changing it, but that in my opinion would make it worse? I had 3 Street Glides over the years and wish I still had them now! Sure, the Road Glide handles like a dream on the highway because of the fixed fairing, but your head isn't quite as rigid and it makes for a miserable ride! KEEP YOUR STREET GLIDES!

Patrick Hutcheson I have a road glide, because they’re better... however, if I was going to get a batwing, I’d go with the Electra glide. The reason some people would prefer it is because it saves on cost by not including things you’d want to upgrade anyways. The Harley sound systems suck, unless you upgrade to stage 2 audio. Also, with brushed parts, instead of chrome, it’s easier to prep parts for powder coating or, in my case, cerakote. Everyone wants to customize their bike, so why not buy a stripped down version? If they had the same thing for rg, I would’ve gone with that

The first impression I get from this guy is that he is mostly a sales person, at least as far as this video goes. The Street Glide is not the most popular touring bike that Harley sells. The Road King is, first because it has been in production longer and partly due to the fact that it is one of the lower priced touring models, it is also lighter in weight making it popular to those upgrading from other Harley frame type models. It is the best handling touring model and a very comfortable long distance rider. Before I am accused of being a biased Road King owner let me say that I did own a 2003 100th Anniversary Road King and it was a hard decision to trade it in, only because I couldn't afford 2 bikes. I decided to upgrade when the Rushmore models came out with all the improvements to design. Although I intended to buy a Street Glide, my salesman at the local Harley dealer convinced me to test ride the 2015 Road Glide. I bought a Road Glide Special as soon as I returned from the test ride, which wasn't just a short local ride but an hour long ride on an interstate and local roads. The Road Glide handles better than a Street Glide on the highway, so, if your a distance rider the Road Glide is superior. Unfortunately my 2015 was totaled in an accident but the good part is the car owner's insurance paid for my new 2017 M8 Road Glide Special that is even better than the 2015 was. My point is don't assume anything, all Harley touring models are great bikes but test ride all of them before making your decision.

The Street Glides are good bikes if you actually want to ride some distance. Not just be one of these guys who rides to the bar, shows it off, tells other people what it means to be a real biker, and then goes three miles back home. 😂 Because let's face it there's two types of Harley Riders. There's people that actually enjoy motorcycles and then there's people who take advantage of Harley-Davidson being the largest cosplay company in the world. 😂 I swear they're like "look at me I do 10 miles a week on my bike and try to pretend I'm on Sons of Anarchy." 😂 Anyway, if anybody is looking for an actual motorcycle and not just a way to show off at the bar, the Street Glide is a hell of a bike.

i was at the love ride in 2004 in glendale. i was riding a limited edition fatboy at that time. next to me in our group was Bill Davidson, Robert Patrick and a few other notable HD dignitaries. Bill and I wandered off to check out some of the other bikes dotted all over the streets near glendale harley. at one point we came upon a whole group of Harley riders from a Cholo Club that had done some outrageous mods to their bikes. massive apes, super-long fish-tailed pipes, extended bags etc. SUPER CHROMEY! BUT!!! some members of the groups had adopted the SoCal lowrider style to their Ultra Classics. they had "smoothed" out the bike, by taking 99% of the chrome either off or had powered-coated it to match the skins color of the fenders, bags, tanks etc. some were lowered, but most looked like they had been "murdered" out before the term was used. Bill was blown away. He took a few pics, and as we walked back to the Rally Burgers and waited for the ride to kick-off, he said, they could do a factory version like those he had just witnessed. i remarked, if you build one like that, i'll buy one. so, around a year or so later, right after my fatboy had been stolen... i picked up the first street-glide in San Diego. added a detachable chopped tour-pak, screamin' eagle exhaust, and a few other mods and away i went. my first faired bike that Bill had said they would make. we must all thank the low-rider clubs of Southern California for the imspiration. the bike is still mine, it now has 85,000 miles on it. it's been ridden up the coast to SF many times, across the loneliest road, route 50 thru nevada, up to yellowstone, out to denver and back and it's still my daily commute bike as i pull the tour-pak off and cross into TJ daily for work. the TJ/SD border is easiest to cross on a bike. here's the inspiration for the bike. i.pinimg.com/originals/75/d2/c9/75d2c98911d53b4838a5b05c4081f6cc.jpg

The last comment I see on this video was about a year ago so here's a new one. Why bother to wear gloves and a helmet but leave those knees flopping in the breeze? It doesn't look as cool as you think...just saying. Besides that, you're going to get a really weird looking tan. Can you remember the pain of falling off your bicycle as a kid and skinning your knee? Probably, but the memory of the pain has faded. Scars from road rash don't fade so easily. Think skin graft. Keep it real, keep it safe. Love you brother, God bless.

This bike was owned by the typical Harley owner. Buy the bike, ride to the bar, ride home, bolt some after market junk on your bike, ride back to the bar, show off your bike, ride home, bolt some more junk in your bike, ride back to the bar, show off your bike.... 5 years later, bike had been sitting for 4 years, sell bike. Drive to the bar, in your mini van, cry in your beer with your buddies about how much you miss you Harley.

Thank you for the review. I have owned 3 H-D: 1 Ultra Limited & 2 Road Kings. I don't know how you are not getting buffeting, at 6'1", I'm 1" shorter than you. I had terrible buffeting on the Ultra Limited, I couldn't read road signs it was so bad, tried different size windscreens to no avail. Love the bike, but for the reason just stated, sold it. Surely H-D must do wind tunnel tests on their bikes, but mine rode like they didn't do aerodynamic testing/development, a shame, beautiful bike, but awful buffeting/riding. Since then, H-D installed vents in the fairings, maybe that helps.

Street Glides are cool, I gotta Fatboy but I’d like to get a street Glide one day, but my Fatboy is not going anywhere because it’s the best Harley of them all in my opinion. Not because I own one but because I actually special ordered mine and I had to walk past Ultras and Streets to do so😜

If you wear a helmet the head buffeting over 60 mph will drive you absolutely nuts! Carry Advil in the bags. Owned one for two years, great ride , very comfortable....and yes, I tried two heights of clock works shields, bottom baffles, fork deflectors.........nothing worked! traded it in for a street bob, NO buffering on the bob!

i Remember when Riding a motorcycle was about being different, being an Individual, then the Street Glide Came out and it's become cool to just follow the SHEEP and join the crowd and be one of 100 street glides. Sean is wrong the street glides are a dime a dozen (at least here in New England, it simple supply and demand and the Number 1 selling bike means a HUGE Supply of used. After 40 years working for Harley-Davidson, i wanted to be different from the crowd, i now ride a Valkyrie 1832

Hey brother fly buy wire was fitted from 2010 on the street glide "I had one" bad point - rear pegs are fitted to the frame and when having a pillion on board there toes dig into your calves when at stop so some pillion training required to move there feet back - but for cruising no problems.

Now idk how I feel about a sg being good for beginner to intermediate riders, it’s quite a bit of bike for a new to novice rider. I started on a 500r ninja, jumped to a 883 sporty, then my friend let me ride her 06 sg…… it was slightly intimidating but manageable coming off the sportster….. been riding my Vtx 1300 for a few years now might have to take that glide back out on the next warm day.
