Narcissist? Now, if that ain't the cliche, derogatory, put down label of the 21st century. Andre Agassi, at least, had talent, and was one of the all-time tennis greats. Brooke Shields has no talent, and was famous for merely being famous. She complains and whines to this day that she was used as a 13-year old by Hollywood executives (e.g., Pretty Baby), knowing full well that her *parents* - and she herself - were entirely complicit and responsible for her being used. I never thought she was the brightest bulb.

Andre is an inspiration to people struggling with difficult transitions in their life/ products of poor parenting. Brooke has the emotional intelligence of a wombat and was too focused on herself to understand his complexity at the time. Bad match move on. Not sure why this is being talked about today when he literally has a family and married to Graf. Disgusting.

Sounds like Agassi was a control freak and a narcissist, or, at the very least, exhibited narcissistic tendencies. He was only interested in being a tennis winner and Brooke was suppose to be his arm candy who wasn’t allowed to make him look bad even if it was all about a silly script in a tv show. Had he been less concerned about the whole scene, it never would have been an issue. He’s a gas lighter who accused her of being shallow when, in reality, that was his gig. And what was up with trashing all his awards? A move designed to say, “look what you made me do!” And then to have another tennis celebrity’s wife broadcast that she had them fixed and replaced out of personal selfishness. She could have walked out on the marriage and left him knee high in his trashed awards. But rather than let him be the victim of his own nonsense, she like the enabler that she had been raised to be, had them all repaired, something that he could easily have done himself. I certainly don’t recall her demanding any of his awards in their divorce settlement. According to what has been videoed here, she was more supportive of him than he was of her.

explanations for why he smashed his trophies are subjective. You say 'to say, "look what you made me do"' others say 'because she was just a trophy to him' or 'its symbolic of what he wants to do with her' but it's all just guess work. Maybe it was to say 'these things don't mean anything to me compared to you'. The fact is we just don't know. What we do know is that they were HIS trophies and normally people think you're entitled to smash up your own things even if it's immature and futile. It doesn't make him narcissistic just immature and insecure.

There is no credible, verifiable proof Brooke Shields is egotistical, shallow, superficial, self serving. She might not of know how to help Andre Agassi when he needed it, but I believe she would have been there for him, and found out how to help him. They just werent compatible in the long run and real8zed it too late. Both, are now happy married to others with children. Agassi was a bully, not only to her but people around him. Waiters, bar tenders, assistants. My daughter was a bartender in Vegas when they came in..several times toward the early part of their marriage. Brooke ended up going around apologizing to everyone. My daughter gave her the sisterhood speech..Brooke had made a terrible mistake that fortunately lasted a little more than 2 years...I am including the dating before marriage. Bless you child.

Andre never loved Brooke. She did. He was insecure, possessive, controlling, jealous, a nut case, he felt entitled, on and off the court. He needed a stay at home wife, available to him 24/7. Brooke was busy working, reading, exploring the world. A Princeton graduate. Wendi also didn't want to be his sidekick, follow him around. When he was home he just wanted to watch cartoons, drink, smoke, etc. Brooke was too much woman for him. No match. He knew it. It wasn't Brooke's fault that his career went kaput in 1997. He was lucky he had Gil Reyes and Brad Gilbert by his side. I never believed he hated tennis. He owes everything he has to tennis. Steffi was done w/her career when they met. She stayed home and had kids.

This was one of the worst times in Agassi's life ! Brooke was controlling, a whiner, spoiled, Andre was losing a lot, he was miserable ! After the split, when Andre and Steffi met ! Things got better, Andre started to win again ! Steffi was a quiet comforter, and understood the tour demands and what was needed of her. They had a natural vibe and chemistry, and it's still good now. Brooke went on to have a family, but she just never had that comfort zone. Andre and Steffi have it. And they don't seek the spotlight, it's wonderfully private.

They were not meant to be together...........It wasn't meant to be. Brooke was school smart, cultured and enjoyed the finer things in life. Agassi had a 9th grade education, emotionally immature - smashing his trophies, and was not ready to be with an actress. Both professions are hard to endure and then combine. They Both had issues. Reading OPEN as I type this. Agassi acted like a 2-year-old after Brooke's GA on Friends. He needed someone that can relate to his life in TENNIS. Thankfully, he got that with Steffi
