The way Seasmoke came at Addam, he was like, "Heey bro! Wanna ride?" Such a thrill to watch. Seasmoke might have taken notice of Addam in an earlier scene, a few episodes back. Addam was near the shore and watched Seasmoke fly past? I wonder if the dragon was already sniffing him out and the ritual they did with the Darklyn lord was just what he needed to commit. I just wish they didn't stall so much. This season has major pacing issues. Too much of Daemon's BS flashback, delusion scenes stretched to kill time. There's not much development going on that end. They could have used that much time to further the plot. Oh well! 1 last episode to see 1 more dragon get bonded I guess, if they stick to this episode's pace. Wish they did like 10 episodes per season. This is more entertaining than GoT.

YES 👍🏼 Major pacing issues so much so I find myself fast forwarding through his dream parts just as much as I did during the Soprano’s during his psych appointments lol…. Also nothing makes me more mad then when the episode has 10 or more minutes left and BOOM the credits start rolling 😔 yesterday it had like 16 mins left and the credits start rolling so between that and the HH scenes we where left with like maybe 1/2 hour of good stuff…

if what you say is correct - then trying to bond Seasmoke with Steffan Darklyn was a massive mistake - since Rhaenyra knows that Laenor might have been alive. And moreover that this dragon is known to be restless leaving occasionally to fly on his own. To be honest, many decision taken in this show seem to have been against normal reasoning.

Back in old Valarya the Velaryons didn’t have dragon rider blood. It wasn’t until the mixing of Targaryen blood that gave them the ability to fly dragons.

@Blue_SeaSmoke it’s not that it’s dormant it’s active. Because his grandmother was Targaryen. The real issue is that the dragons themselves “belong” to the Targaryens. If you listen to the preview for next weeks episode. Rhaenyra confronts Addam and tells him that is a dragon of house Targaryen. The only reason Laenor and Laena had dragons was because of Rhaenys they were given the option to bond with them.

This doesn't make sense. Step siblings share 11-25% DNA, not 50%. True siblings share 50%. Furthermore, if Seasmoke could feel some random guy and fly to him, how come he couldn't feel Laenor and find him? He's not dead as we know.

Yes, they were not dragonlords in Valyria but Velaryons have intermarried with Targaryens throughout the years after the doom. There’s a reason why they are one of their go to houses to marry other than their own of course (they want dragon riding blood line as much as they can). Even in the book where they were believed to be Laenor’s son, there was still a rumor that they could have been Corlys’ from the start.

The only Valaryan dragon lords left in the world are house Targaryen. The Velaryons were not dragon riders in old Valarya. It was due to the interbreeding with house Targaryen post Doom in Valarya when both were in Westeros. That gave them dragon lord blood.

Adam do have dragon blood in him the targaryen and velaryon have intermarried multiple time aegon the conquer mother was a velaryon but the velaryon never had dragons until rheanys married into the family .it not about how much dragon blood you have but if the blood is active to bound with a dragon you can be 100% dragon blood and still not be able to bound with a dragon

Good explanation! I thought this was just HBO defaulting to this woke diversity plot because the white targaryean bastards havent got any dragon yet. Of course, not only that the velaryon bloodline can be traced back to valyria, they also intermarried with the targaryeans when they came to westeros. Plus Adam highly resembles Seasmoke's ex.
