Even though I'm able to grow a beard, I still have some places where I can't grow yet or are patchy in some areas. And honestly speaking it felt as though you were talking directly to me, because I am 23yrs of age. I appreciate your words of advice and wisdom Eric 🙏.
Haha! I have a good friend--she's married to one of my best friends--who recently said to me, "Are you growing that THING again?" "Yep, Deb, I am!" I'm 72, a widower, and way past caring what people think of the way I look! Besides, I think it looks pretty good!
This is 100% true. I’m 39 and for the first few weeks my beard looks like crap. After a few months people call me Grizzly Adams or Hippie or hobo or Sasquatch. It’s the same with dreadlocks. They look like crap in the beginning but once they mature you wake up one morning and you’re like damn they look good.
When someone said anything negative about my beard I just said "and what?" ... "Is it on your face?" Quickly followed by a "well then, fuck up n mind your business" I'm not an overly confident person but it's my beard.... It's me... So fuck anyone who doesn't like it.... N just to be safe, fuck everyone that does... I didn't grow my beard to please anyone... I grew it for me
The key to growing a thick beard is to stop shaving due to laziness, and not actually caring about growing a beard. The cosmos recognizes this. This will increase growth of all unwanted hair.
Great point. Same thing with hair growth too, my hair is very long atm, but the more I focus on the each bit of length that I think i get it seems like it takes ages. Best to act like it doesn't exist 😂
Ya the ~3 month beard with a 6 month mustache is one of my favorites. I wish I could snap my fingers and go longer or shorter with my beard on a daily basis. -Eric
I'm 30 years old and not been clean shaven since 2010. My kids wouldn't recognise me if I shaved. I grew up loving LotR, so beard and long hair was always my preferred style.
Mom makes more negative comments re. my beard than anyone ever, anytime. From a chinstrap 'shave it off!' she said in 1973, surprised her coming home from college. Part of it is not liking me to look like a rabbi (but yeah we are Jewish) and I don't want to either. With the sides off I give a little more biker look than Rabbi LOL! Still, most of the time it is a 'circle beard' - 'goatee' , and now 7 to 8 in ling not showing what it looks like in the photo.
I've always had either a gotee or full beard from the time I could grow enough to do so. ZZ top was always an inspiration for me as well as the older men I grew up around including my father. At 42 I still have some thin spots but with 7 years of growing and 6 inches of beard below my chin you wouldn't be able to tell.
@@Noctifern maybe 8 or 9. Any longer and I start to hit termainal beard length. I get it trimmed about every 2.5 to 3.5 months along with my hair. I work in a semi professional environment and my job requires me to wear a dress shirt and slacks or a suit (a tie is optional). My department and position also require a high degree of grooming for any facial hair. I pushed the boundaries for years to get to where I am with my beard within the company. A feat that was not possible 10 years ago.
@@willismehrer9835 interesting. I guess everyone has different terminal lengths, I'm curious what mine is. I've never gone past a couple inches. it's so strange how beards just stop growing. how does it know when the hair is at that point. I've never really understood how it stops growing
I'm 35 years old and have just started to grow out a full beard for the first time, or at least I try. I have a pretty bright beard growth which make it kinda hard to recognize in the first week. It's also not very dense and I have a few patches on the cheeks which is one reason I never tried to grow a full beard but because of this channel I decided to give it at least 2 months and in week 2 now I begin to see some differences already! If it doesn't work out then it doesn't but at least I know the potential and can do something with it . A beard takes time
Great advice once again Eric ' when I first started to grow out my beard which was about ? Roughly 5 years ago now , it did seem to take forever to actually grow but I did like you say Eric , I gave it Time and now I think I have an a really beautiful Beard
My biggest hurdle in growing my beard, or even my hair out, is myself. After a few weeks, or even a month or two, I get bored with it and I try something different.
Thank you for these wonderful tips! Two and a half weeks ago, I completely shaved off my beard and left only a mustache. Now my beard itches very much, but I think I will definitely continue to grow it, and this time I'ill grow it big!!
I shaved the week before thanksgiving. I am still pretty patchy and all that on my cheeks and neck lol. Chin and lip grow decent. Just that certain spot there. I am 40 lol. Gonna try and rock it as long as I can. Genetics 🤘😬
I'm in my early 20s and have been stuck with a weak pube stache and "older brother" 5 chin hairs since I got out of hs. But considering my genetics, I likely just won't grow facial hair properly for a few years or even a decade or two. Dad had a mustache most his life so I doubt I'll not grow a good stache.
been growing my beard for 2+ years. i was always hesitant to just let it grow because my neck and under my chin would end up looking like i have stubbly like long 5 o clock shadow and I'd lose all dimension to my face. So i tried to shave my neck and under my chin for about 6 weeks. By that time, my face had some decent length hairs so when under my chin and on my neck was left to grow, it looked like a cohesive unit. Beard is now down to my sternum and looking great. Been following Beardbrand along the journey. Great stuff. Great source of men's self care. Thanks!
My situation is that I can only grow a tiny weird moustache and a nassssty neck beard. Nothing on the cheeks. Should I just let that neck beard grow out and see what happens?
I get amish remarks on the Daily not as bad since the mustache hair has slowly started to come in I don't care what anybody thinks about it it's my beard not their's
