Great show! Honestly, every time they played song 111 “he will call” the melody put me on a trance…as a musician, I know my musical scales pretty much and the notes speak back to me. Let me tell you, that song is full of negative notes and robotic. The watchtower kidnaps your DNA using all kinds of sources that worked throughout decades. And the lack of meditation took us to the lack of critical thinking that is so much needed.

I have a severe anxiety disorder. The past several years before I finally left the JW religion by fading, my anxious thought were terrible mostly about suppressing my doubts and issues about certain JW policies. The headspace app did help a lot especially the breathing exercises.. It always bugged me that Watchtower told you how meditation is bad, but you are to meditate on every single bible reading portion you read. Makes no sense haha

Which church are preaching the gospel of the kingdom around the world to all nations as Jesus Christ said? Matthew 10:16, 24:14, 28:19-20, Mark 13:10, if not only only only the Jehovah's witnesses..

something i feel i was stunted with for sure being a witness is when i struggle with that inner conflict, i am taught to just pray. throw it on jehovah -not to meditate, think about why im feeling the way i am, not to work thru it. now that im deconstructing and DONT have prayer as an option (at least not right now cuz im leary of anything) - i am struggling to cope as i have never learned how to just sit with my feelings. its been ...awful. this video is so important.

@user-qi7zn2er1b I'm sorry to know you've been in such a dark season my friend. When I first woke up, I also didn't feel like I could pray, at least not like I did before, because I felt like the version of God I had been taught may not have been accurate. So I was definitely silent for a long, long time. But when I finally decided to start to know him for who he truly is... WHEW!!! My mind was blown away & when I think back on the years I spent in the literal gut-wrenching anxiety I felt when I first woke up, unsure about how to deal with my intrusive thoughts, emotions, trauma, etc.... thankfully, it feels thousands of miles beyond my reach now. I don't try to push my beliefs on anyone so I'll just say, in my experience, HE is more. More than stress, more than fear, more than hurt. So thankful for the opportunity to know him like I do now. I hope your situation changes soon & even on the worst days, you know there are ppl like us out there, cheering you on! Personally, I'll be praying for the victory to be placed in your hands! Sending hugs your way! -Falon

As hard as it is, its that ocean wave you see coming knowing you hv no choice got to get past it. The break will come so you can breathe & dnt feel as though you are drowning in negative feelings all time. Im 38 & just now feel centered balanced & inner peace bc of patience time & being kind to myself. Not getting angry that I felt that way. One thing I know is each day try to find something that makes you happy youre awake that you hv worked on. Sending you hug. Woke up 2020 just now am at peace with seeing it for all the wrong its caused so many.

Meditation in the real sense of the word means to think or to reflect on a subject!
@DiffiCULTChildhood
@DiffiCULTChildhood 2 месяца назад
One of two uses: Oxford English Dictionary: • Verb: 1. To focus one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation. 2. To think deeply or carefully about (something).

But watchtower uses it as to think on their teachings/policies/beliefs as a way of cementing those claims as true or fact, regardless of their veracity.

Oh yeah, loving this. The first time i heard of mediation in the trues form was due to fact that they kept on at me acusing me of meditation, and practicing yoga, because of the way a sat on the floor crouch on the floor. I just fell comfy sitting like that. I said what are you taking about, in kindergarten school we used to sit that way when theacher read us story. No, they were introducing you to meditation and yoga. 🤯 one of the brother kept telling me tale off visting bible studies, and there were small stools in the coner of the room. And that is how they knew the the student was practicing mediation. Leading to evils spirit's. It used to drive me nuts. Now i practice it, sitting or standing🧘‍♂️

WT portrays the topic of meditation “as the world does it”, as if the practice is remote viewing or projecting your consciousness to another plane. Developing the mental skill of quieting your thoughts when they are racing is invaluable and practical. WT teachings generate mental disharmony with its constant focus on the end of the system of things. Day to day life can become more peaceful and manageable when we have the skill to quiet our minds and focus more on the present. As you say in this video, that’s why our health coverage provides it in some cases.

Self care is really important. It does teach us self love. The organization makes its members feel bad about that like. The first convention I ever attended was called, "No longer living for ourselves but for Jehovah." I used to paint. I loved art when I first started studying. My JW Bible study teacher often mentioned the importance of putting serving Jehovah before my love of art and putting it basically on the back burner till we were in the new system of things to come. Self denial is what they teach. One reason why they don't celebrate Birthdays. No wonder there's a lot of depression among members.

After watching this whole vid, my takeaway from all this is that whenever JWs "meditate" they ponder over what they're learning in the meetings, yes, but without questioning the logic and rationality of their indoctrination such as the 1914 teaching and the rest of their doctrines, nor acknowledging the reality of the present moment by replacing it with ideas and fantasies created by their belief system like their narrative of the last days and their version of the upcoming great tribulation and their ideas of paradise, nor coming into terms with their own feelings as it is subjugated under the judgment if their Jehovah god approves of their feelings or not, nor even coming to peace with one's past by demonizing their actions that's not in harmony with the JW ideals and identity through the threat of excommunication, nor even intuitively reaching to their own way of understanding things when that authority is being given away only for the Governing Body to perform exclusively so they don't deviate away from the JW's one train of thought.

Appreciate your view guys and I am no longer a JW but have family evidence of this kind of meditation (transcendental) it's variations and it's dangers, this was real for my family and should NOT be taken lightly or as flippantly as you both seem to. This happened before being a JW though it took a lot of prayer, some countries do practice the same thing but use different methods. I know that one of you is an atheist, but don't mock the troubles of people that have gone through very harrowing times in practicing meditation regardless of if you are a JW or not and don't forget the Bible talks about them and Jesus description in Matthew 12:43-45 is clear.
@DiffiCULTChildhood
@DiffiCULTChildhood 2 месяца назад
We do not mock the troubles of people. We mock the claims of the Governing Body who declare as fact that demons can enter you as a result of meditation. After reading the entire bible multiple times, I can confirm that the book NEVER warns about, or even hints in any way that meditation of any kind can let demons in. Since the Bible is over 1600 pages long (depending on the version) but doesn’t mention this as a danger even once, how can the GB make this statement? Further, WHY would they make this claim? It is our opinion that they do this to control JW’s and keep them from thinking clearly. So with the fact that the Bible NEVER warns against meditation, do you think that the troubles your family members experienced could have been something else not related to meditation? - Jason
@jont39
@jont39 2 месяца назад
@@DiffiCULTChildhood I don't care about the GB I'm faded and well past them but the bible is clear Jason I did quote a valid scripture on clearing the mind Jesus spoke about it and hope you read it. I really do understand the WT messes all who they touched to a greater or lesser degree, however there are two undeniable aspects one is that positive meditation is focus on oneself the goals and direction that you've kindly explained there's nothing wrong with that at all but please bare in mind that if you repeat a mantra no matter how small you are on shaky ground it is to clear the mind. This is through experience I'm telling you this and not a magazine. There are real dangers Jason you may not have experienced them yourself it doesn't mean they are not there,
@pearlytiger564
@pearlytiger564 26 дней назад
@@jont39actually you did not quote a valid scripture. That verse says NOTHING about meditation. You are pulling a classic JW maneuver and inserting ideas in the scripture that are not there and quoting a verse that has nothing to do with the claim you are making. Sounds like you still need to do some more reprogramming and cleaning out of cult indoctrination.

@DiffiCULTChildhood its clear that meditation is so many different things. And it's obvious that if you only train your mind to let go of thoughts over and over and over, you will get good at that, but you won't find the connection with God which requires a different approach. You have to search much deeper into yourself, and if you attain the state of Samadhi, you will know what i mean with God. You won't be atheist anymore, maybe not theist but you will definitely feel there is something. I didn't take it as being cheeky 😊

Meditation is great, Buddhists, Hindus, and even Sufi's and Christian mystics meditate. Meditation and yoga help me with lust and sexual addiction in a way that preyer never could. I would never give up meditation and yoga for anything. It helps with so much with transmuting sexual tension into something more positive.

Do ex JW's still believe in the kingdom and if so why do they no longer talk about it? It seems to me that the entire focus of ex JW's is why they left and exposing how bad the JW organization is. Jesus did not focus on false religion or the pharisees. Shouldn't Christians focus on Jesus and follow in his footsteps?

@DiffiCULTChildhood
@DiffiCULTChildhood 2 месяца назад
@user-tp9lc5gw3d I did not delete them. I read both articles you shared. It showed that for certain individuals, the connection between meditation & anxiety response was associative, not causative. This sort of connection could also potentially be seen in people that begin therapy... clearing your mind enough to start to address past traumas may be difficult, possibly more so in the beginning, as it can push us outside our comfort zones & make us face issues head on rather than to compartmentalize them. This, too, can raise our anxiety levels in the short term, but that doesn't discredit the fact that for many ppl, it can be a therapeutic experience. So, the same may be said for some forms of meditation, in our opinion. It's not for everyone & that's 100% okay! Thanks for joining the discussion!
