Slavik has to be the greatest tragedy in the history of Latin American ballroom dancing. So much talent, and phenomenal ability to move himself and the audience, so very close to leaving a lasting legacy, and somehow fell short of it. For raw physical ability, I doubt we will ever see another dancer demonstrating what he could do back in 2003/2004. Most men would willingly sacrifice much to have just one dance partner like Joanna/Karina/Elena/Anna/Hanna/Dasha, and he had the luxury and privilege to partner all of them. He had it all, and seems that he either did not realize it, or appreciate it. Perhaps as a teacher, he will pass on his knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of not just the dances but of partnering, and what it takes to be a successful champion.
