1. she qualifies but we live in FLORIDA where its not a welfare state.. no disability, food stamps or section 8 here.. and rents cost 3x what they do in texas.. and jobs suck. you gotta be a beast to make it here. My car is worth more than houses in these nieghborhoods. and we got several things with wheels.. not just one. We okay thanks to our strong work ethic. we show rich areas too.. we did lots fo videos on padre island but these REAL STREET videos will get MUCH MORE VIEWS. your judging me.. and your judgement is WAY OFF.. gas is at 4.19 and i get 13MPG in my 2500HD.. round trip from CC to where we live is 2600 miles. thats $863 just in FUEL>..plus hotels and food.. you wont pull that off with a disability.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS rent definitely doesn't cost 3x what it does here in Florida.... not unless you live on the coast..maybe you do, but that's not the real hood either. Hood sure, but definitely not the worst neighborhood here
@@JuanMartinez-df1lc Airline and Staples? You gotta be joking! That's the rich side of town. Not as much as it used to be, but still, it ain't no 'hood'.
I grew up on Shawnee street La Quare 40. I wouldn't change it for anything. Everyone looked out for each other. You shouldn't go around speaking about how others live. It may not be your cup of tea but it is for some. On another note we are not idiots as you stated in the beginning of your video. I may not live there anymore but I'll always claim where I'm from! Educate yourself before you speak out on what you assume is considered the hood. What you see as a hood many of us see it as home, where some of our family & friends still live.
@ourownstyle5413 I grew up on Shawnee as well. Close to Morgan. My family has been there for several decades, so La Quare is in my blood. Used to ride bikes all around the barrio as a kid. Great memories there. Everything you stated is mad facts.
Loved this video! Liked how you had the prequel of the car jacking out first … then saw the full video drive of coming up to the car jacking attempt! CC is part beauty - part hood for sure! Great vid!
I've lived in corpus for 18 years and it's an awesome place!!! Don't go where you don't know!!! Don't disrespect!!! Go back to your place and see your friek ups!!!
I'm from Robstown..10 minutes away from Corpus Christi Texas....gonna start my channel soon...I'll be taking you down Baldwin, Morgan, Ayers, down town I'll show you the hood bc I was born & raised from the hood I know my shit.....& To see the hood you gotta pass by the hood...this ain't even a hood 😂
This looks like a ghost town compared to Baltimore. There were literally like 2 people walking down the road during this entire video. I lost some brain cells listening to their banter about Horchata for 30 minutes. How are they not totally insane from driving around listening to their wipers on that dry window. 🤷🏻♀️
The problem with corpus Christi is that we've got a lazy mayor amd lazy city officials. That will take government grants .And not apply them to fixing the infrastructure of the city.I've seen city workers literally doin nothing the majority of the day. Amd if they're working they're patching up pot holes on roads that don't really need them. Yet neglecting the majority. Corpus is far too small to be this dirty. I'm a delivery driving providing a legitimate service to the community yet our city officials aren't worth a crap. And local politicians who are legitimate welfare recipients doing squat for this city. Honestly I've never seen a community of people soo profoundly lazy that in 20 to 30 years not a damn thing will change for the better. Other than the harbor bridge being built. This city is known for Selena that's it. Now if you're a fisherman and like water then we'll that's probably another plus.Oh and they have a military base where just about every local has slept with each other at one time or another. I've been here for 4 year's. And thank the good stars above I am out of here 🤷✌
you think CC is lazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we were in the drive thru 10 mins.. you need to go to Montgomery Alabama and than come talk to me.. THANK life your in CC and not stationed in Columbus, Fayettteville or Montgomery SPECIALLY with a spanish last name.. you got NO IDEA...
I currently live there. I’ve been everyyyyywhere over these streets. The first time my boyfriend and I went over there as soon as we entered the hood there was a shot out window under a bridge we had to dodge. This negative energy just immediately wraps around after you cross that bridge.
Much love bro haven't been there since I was 12 year old much love bro ✊🤙🤙🤘💯💜🌟⭐😈 hoping one day I'll be able to go back down there my sister and mother good down on vacation from time to time 🙂 hold ya head up stay up LOCOBOY salute to y'all dirty south let get it 💯💯💯💯💜💜💜💜
Thanks for this video, I had been looking forward to moving there. Maybe the 'burbs and outlying towns will be OK, I will sure as hell do more research. Reading Niche and Sperling Best Places seems to have been a waste of my time, so many positive reviews there. Probably realtors and city boosters.
See my padre island videos. They do have nice beaches but the towns got bad hoods too. I did another hour long CC video too. Its got good and bad but there is some serious poverty here
I find Corpus Christi very underrated. It has my favourite food joint called Boat 'n Net... the low budget Red Lobster and frequently went to Butter Krust on school field trips@27:58.
I fully agree. I always loved corpus growing up, even tho everyone disses it, and ever since ive been to all these other places i see how uncommon it is to find food as good as in corpus
They aren't the only streets in Corpus, like in every city there are always bad and old parts of town. You had to look hard for a really bad part of town. What is the point of this video?
Ya'll didn't come close to visiting the worst hoods. What you drove through is considered lower middle class. Hit me up and I'll show you the Hillcrest neighborhood - predominantly Black community just West of the Harbor Bridge, Molina - where Salina grew up, Westgate Park - near Miller High School, The Colonias where they don't even have running water or sewage. Those are very poor communities that have never shaken their reputation for crime and squalor.
Wow even the bad parts are pretty. Guess perspective just all depends where ya from. Up here the bad ends of town are realllll bad. I cannot wait to move away
No they're all better I'd say . In SA the only side of town like anything bad in Corpus seems to be the south side from what I seen like WW White. Corpus is still worse than that
As a resident of this metro area I'd say Central City and Northwest Corpus Christi are worst areas, imo(I've lived here for over a year)...I don't go in the bad areas for a reason
I was born and raised in Corpus. The 80s-90s we're bad in that city. I left the city in the mid 90s now in Colorado nowadays. Even tho Corpus will always be my hometown. I just wish they would do something about building it up to be a prettier city honestly. It's just sad to see that it's still looks pretty ran down still and alot of empty businesses and building's in downtown. Alot of the neighborhoods look bad still. Sometimes i miss my hometown but then at the same time it was really hard and ruff growing up their as a kid,I'm sometimes glad i was able to get out of there, because honestly who knows where i would've ended up. It's just sad to see that in all these year's the city hasn't done anything to make it look nicer especially a city by the ocean it could look alot more better.
Same here grew up in CC I'm the 80s to late 90s...looks the same as the day I left in 1998, Tulsa Oklahoma isn't to much better but it's nice in comparison, Colorado on the other hand is beautiful!
It's because city council sits pretty with there multiple kick backs for the same old road construction scheme they been pulling for a few decades now. They have no real incentive to do anything else because the people don't care enough about what our local politics really mean to the citizen.
You should revisit that shopping plaza now. They completely gave it a makeover. Not long after you made this video. Just a few months after cause it's almost been a year since they've done that.
That intersection with the lady running is pretty sketch at night. That road you took a left on, should have kept going. Other side of that bridge is where it gets really rough. We use to drive around that place when we were young for a thrill. We had people try to car jack us, chase us, throw bottles at our car. It was fun at the time but insanely stupid in retrospect.
21:21 I grew up down the street from the brick church on the right.. sonic every other day. bowled at the old bowling alley at the ayers sign... when I was younger I thought that was the bad side of town.
Corpus Christi unlike San Antonio has few immigrants or even children of immigrants. Corpus' Hispanic population is well over 90% US born descended mostly from immigrants who came over a hundred years ago. Declining food quality could be generational turnover of a family restaurant with the new people just not knowing how to cook good..
I moved from CC to SA and you are totally right. If these people wanna see ghettos and crime, then they should definitely visit SA. Only SA has crappy as* food. Bland and meh. CC has amazing Mexican food but idk that’s just me, from living in both cities and being a chef, ooofff SA is bad. But your so right, SA seems like a border city, like bad, CC doesn’t come close
I grew up on 14th street between Buford and Hancock in the seventies. Friends and I would go around the block to Salvation Army Rec center play outside swings merry-go-round and baseball. Miss those days. Live in Austin now.
U don’t even know the only good place is downtown and some of the south side name any other place besides downtown and the beaches and I’ll tell u a gang that’s there
@@ericbryant-dz8mj it's a city that's made more for retiring people. It's not huge and has good side and bad. The NAVY uses it for training. I think anywhere you go one takes there troubles if they have troubles where there at. Otherwise it's not bad place. It's no San Antonio Houston Dallas or Austin. Weather here expect heat and humid and maybe 3 days extreme cold and a week of 30-40s. It's a lot like Florida but has winds. I think Florida is nicer lol my take.
Those first set apartments are not the hood lmfao maybe they where moving in or gunna load something that's why they where parked on grass just because you see a shopping cart doesn't mean it's hood it means people don't have cars that use the shopping carts to get them closer to the bus stop or their home duh also we have awesome Mexican food
Y’all were sooooo close to seeing the REAL ghetto then y’all got on the Harbor Bridge!!! Y’all were sooooo close!!! I actually lived on Bernice right off of Macardle where y’all started recording!
Should visit, tour California. Many areas from the famous Southern Cal beaches to Bay Area towns. The wine country is a big thing. The cities homeless is bad. You'll find tents and a bunch of people on the streets of major cities. The redwoods are famous in Northern California. You cant miss them as you drive toward the coast. Their known as the tallest trees in the world. San Francisco is mainly cool and foggy. Above it are small quiet coastal towns for solace.
In 1980 the Santa Cruz County wine country had 40,000 homeless citizens, Mostly employed but could not afford the cheapest rent. It never got better for them. Even when sub-leasing of closets or tool sheds began to happen. Car camping labor at Wal-Mart won't be cheap and have incentive to quit La-la Land for greener pastures. I did,
Lolol..going down Airline to Mcardle,To Staples....this is basically middle range people.. They need to find the "Cut"- down by the docks/ bridge/ shipping channels... the Wealthy part is about a 1/4 mile to the east of them as is the Bayfront. Maps would help in this situation...smh-
Texas talks big but I never saw a Texas license plate on my yearly vacation trips to Detroit. Where I got a cheap vacated brewery as a vacation home. After tenting overnight atop the Packard Motors Plant ruins and then walking from 8 Mile to the Detroit River. It was lawless and wild but but better than Corpus Cristi. I'd walk to DDOT Route #12 stops and get off to do BUILDERING day or night. Don't grow a pair on my say-so just to go get that kind of high.
Like listening to some homeless types jabbering in a car...instead of drunkenly raving(and slobbering all over themselves!lol!) ...on a street corner with a boarded-up gas station(!)...kinda brings a tear to the eye(!). All those memories of rotting all day in the homeless shelters watching reruns of "The View" with no sound because the social workers say "it's broken"...
The beginning of the video you're on Airline and the you took a right on McArdle then you took another right on South Staples. This is the South side of Corpus Christi. 👍
hahahaha this is what an average city looks like in Argentina (sometimes much worse) and honestly this city would be considered very quiet in my country.
Jose I know you get tired of the many useless complaints and put downs in comments, but we want you to give more commentary about the history and special things in each city or town like you used to just a few years back!
only watched the first 2 mins and yall drove down where not a single person has ever used that sidewalk ever. you could spent the night there and be safe
I was born in corpus and lived there in my late teens early 20s 75% of corpus is run down the real hoods are scary as fuqq. I think they have taken it all down the north side was crazy and out in Molina
Please share the Love of the Son of God, He spoke Truth Forever. Please write His Words in your Heart, and share them. Please Forgive, and Pray for everyone. Immanuel, God with us...
You were so close if you would have just went across I-35 near Leopard you would have seen the bad streets. Known as The Cut. And you would have had to roll up them windows and locked those doors 😂😂
I lived in Westside area 50 plus yrs 60s70s80s90s2000to 2006 i could write a book those were good time s bad time s i delivered bud wieser for 20plus yrs in cc town la armada projects well known for different stuff alot of girlfriends there take ur pick gangs were all over back then but i could go to any bar in town no problem s but i left because gang activity got bad where i live now the only gangs in my area is wild hogs bobcats coyotes nothing a 3030 can't handle carry my glock any where i go snakes every where u go
