Somebody who knows nothing about Mobile comes in and drives around some of the poorest neighborhoods, then advises people to move across the bay or to Huntsville. Don't believe a word of it. Mobile is a charming, historic city with many beautiful areas, such as Midtown or Spring Hill. It's a great place to live with a great sense of place.
@@jessiemac4970 ummm mobile has been on first 48 since 2016. Not to mention honeykomb brazy grandparents house getting shot up and set on fire so you can miss me with that
@SirBaum you must can’t read.. I explained why it’s a shitty place. It’s not the same as it was in the 2000s it’s violent, poor as hell, nothing to see or do, the ppl are small minded
@SirBaum I wasn’t saying you were small minded. But a lot of people there are small minded Alabama has never been a state that’s big on change and growing the state and it’s cities
Why don't you do research before trying to blast places you know nothing about.Prichard is not Mobile it is a city of its own that is located in Mobile County.i have been all over the United States and in 9 countries I can assure you I can name hundreds of places worst than Mobile and even Prichard. So before blasting any city please do research first
Thank you for speaking the truth. I work in Daphne and they even have slum areas hidden. I have seen it and they have rundown corner stores too worst than prichard. People really need to realize every city has crime and low areas
@@socialbutterfly114 I just believe people have the wrong impression about not just our city, state but our entire country. We live In the best country in the world and in my opinion I live in one of the best states. Why people want to judge things they don't know about drives me crazy.Your are 100 percent correct even Baldwin County for all the nice places they still have the bad and ugly. Thanks for your reply maybe one day I will figure out how to post videos and stuff on RU-vid.Try and spread positive things about our city and state for people to see.Peace
I understand you might not be from the area, but all of the litter is because of the thousands and thousands of locals and tourist during Mardi Gras. A lot of it is thrown from floats.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS She was the head of the Prichard Water Board. Not a politician. Prichard is still a separate city from Mobile. She and her cronies used money brought in from people paying their water bills to live some extravagant lifestyle and it bit her in the ass.
I like your content but don't disrespect Mobile like that, they have problems like most cities do yes there are a lot of bad neighborhoods but there are plenty of nice places also i lived in Mobile in the mid late 90s it has changed a lot no doubt, but it is a beautiful city.
Mobile is an excellent city to visit. You need to drive in the better neighborhoods close to the beach area. I'm a New Yorker who relocated to the Atlanta area. Took a visit to Mobile and I was quite impressed. Stated in the Airpirt area and I enjoyed every minute. My opinion, I would move to Mobile in a Heart beat. Very Nice!
Prichard, Alabama is not Mobile, Alabama..It is how ever Mobile County.. Had you went straight through the tunnel you would have been in Mobile Alabama... Downtown Mobile where the court house is..Your going the wrong way to get to Prichard Alabama. Should have went 1 65 to get to Prichard. If you looking in the slums to show people Mobile Alabama that's just wrong of you to give people that impression of Mobile Alabama.. Try the other side of Mobile Alabama not the slums!!!
Noooo. They don't say Mardi Gras began in Mobile, it actually did, right down Dauphin Street. And we don't envy New Orleans, we don't appreciate that they lie and claim they started it. It's a matter of respect.
I was born and raised in Mobile Al. There are very beautiful areas/homes in this city. I am sorry you didn't share them. You're sharing some of the worst areas. You should have went out west near the airport area. It's great to see my hometown! Government St. is a main drag a lot of historical homes ! ❤️❤️
I'm from Atlanta but my family is from Mobile. You actually passed my grandma house when you were riding down Houston st. To anyone who hasn't been, please check it out during Mardi Gras. Also, it would've been dope if you would've stopped and talked to some of the locals.
I liked going through the tunnel on way to see the USS Alabama museum ship where also is displayed the USS Drum, a World War Two submarine and also tanks, aircraft, and other military equipment and vehicles. Nice drive from Jacksonville.
I lived there for a lot of years I can tell you that the government and the court system and just everything involved with the officials in Mobile county is just so corrupt it's awful
Thanks Jose, I know what your saying but living here in SW Florida in Lehigh 10 years from Miami since 1972 and its gotten expensive but also no way to even compete to buy anything thanks to the investors swallowing everything up. I told you in my last post to that Lehigh at night video that I was looking to move to Alabama and its not that I want it, its that I don't have any other choice because its cheaper but also because there are houses that I might still have a chance at getting into and renting while would be awesome and best for my sick mom and I and my husband but we have 2 big dogs and some kitties and no one wants to rent to as many pets as I have and they want more rent, etc.. for each of them on top of asking crazy high prices. My landlord is selling this house I am in, we weren't give a chance and while I have been saving and did all to get my excellent credit where it is and all that I wasn't yet prepared to qualify for what I was going to try and get lending for and now out of nowhere this man says he is selling and he in a market where the other home here he sold, he listed and it sold in not even 14 days. I've only been to Phenix AL. I would drive up and visit Columbus, GA often from 2018 - 2019. I was looking to move there near Ft Benning and happened to go over and look in Phenix because I wanted a home with land and there really isn't that in Columbus. Anyway I appreciate the videos you have been posting. I guess it was fate I found you the night I did. Your driving around at least gives me a better idea of what I will be getting into somewhat. Tips of what to check on also. I am looking higher up, you did mention Huntsville, also central areas. But whenever I can find a roof that isn't caving in on at least 1 bedroom I can keep my mom and animals safe in I have to go. We will be homeless otherwise. I love when you say Y'all. I know you're Cuban like my husband and he like you speaks perfect english but has that somewhat Southern accent behind it LOL If you live here in Lehigh I would love to meet you and your lady in person one day before I leave here. Not sure how mcuh time I have though. I am not trying to be a sitting tenant and giving my landlord any trouble getting out from this house so he can fix it and sell it. I've been a great ontime paying tenant who fixed his house over the 10 years in it and I sure don't need any legal issues or eviction on my record moving forward.
They got rents in sebring and Avon park for $900-1200. Sebring probally has more things than lehigh sadly. Lake wales also has cheap rents its a little more hood. I felt exactly the way you do trust me but alabama was a mistake. Its cheap for a reason. Tallahassee has cheap rents too. Ocala has cheap rents in the SW area which is kinda hood but if your poor you will be okay. I an young and dumb so i make a better target from criminals if you look poor its easier. I would go for those options first. They RUN you out of alabama.. imagine caring for an elderly person and than your neighbors being evil towards you at the same time. Trust me you can regret alabama. I had money to protect myself if i was poor i would be dead or in jail
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I don't see rents that cheap anywhere even there in nothing here land LOL Yes I know cheap for a reason. I sure don't look poor I drive a Chrysler 300S that is fully loaded all leather guts. Not the Hemi but still nice just the same, and I earn an okay living just not okay in these times with the market the way it is. Cheap rents are going as fast as cheap well worth homes with maybe just some cosmetic flaws and things that people don't see which sellers can get away with selling the home with and even an inspector or appraiser won't see. I'm being run out of Lehigh, was run out of Miami from Criminals and so what more could I and my 81 year mother with cancer endure? Why the heck not...homelessness for someone like myself who has never been homeless, work so hard and thought I was middle class isn't an option but there aren't any other options today.
I summered in Prichard and grew up in Birdsville Projects...I love my memories, yet it is a lifestyle my kids would never understand or probably make it through. 😂
Also saw something posted from you in a notification but clicked on it and then it said it was private. Wondering now if that is the other video you were talking about checking out at the end of this one?
Prichard is a far nicer than many drug ridden communities in the Seattle area, I don't see really any issues with this area from what I see. I see newer cars, people out walking actively, children outside. Just a lower income area, I didn't see any homeless camps in this video, campers parked for blocks, people shitting on the sidewalk or shooting up. You guys in the south still have it good in the worst neighborhoods.
@@nomiddlenamenmn427 I originally thought so as well, then after living there for over 30 years. I moved to Alabama. Beautiful, warm and very affordable, the pressures of making enough money aren’t as near as stressful in AL just to live. It’s a different kind of living here that is more relaxed.
I just moved from Olympia WA to the eastern shore to Fairhope AL but I was in Mobile yesterday. You are right it’s wayyyy better living here then anywhere along I-5. I grew up in Olympia and went to Seattle many many times. It use to be nice until the libs went full retard. P.S. nobody goes to Prichard. There is crime over there.
Please don’t down grade Mobile not every place here is bad Prichard is bad and downtown areas are but out West Mobile is better and there is a lot of places that is nice to live iam sure that’s the case in all other States
Sonja Bryant & don’t downgrade Prichard either it’s plenty of good people that came from Prichard & Mobile got bad & good places just like any other city
I couldn't watch this video in its entirety because I felt exploitation of particular communities to favor such false claims you speak of. Who are the " good people" who were ran out of Prichard? It seems like you are not from either city to advise, but I respect it's your video and you received a view...
Working in law enforcement for 30 years and retired now. I grew up vacationing in Tuskegee Alabama my dad hometown and I love the south, as I am born and raised in Wisconsin. Every state has its unsafe areas, that doesn't make the whole county terrible. There are some nice areas in Mobile. Just like Huntsville, Montgomery, Foley has not so good areas. Just do ur research. Come here to Milwaukee, I live in a very nice and diverse neighborhood neighborhood, but I can show u areas here I wouldn't send a cat to 🤷🏾♀️
I have seen more of Alabama than you ever will in your lifetime. the only area I have not gone to is the extremes NW corner 3 counties up there I missed in my travels. i spent an entire year traveling that state seeing everything. Its the top 5 most beautiful places on the east coast.. its not the natural beauty thats an issue its a pretty place.. its the racist backwards people there that ruin it with their hate and litter. I know places in alabama that not even the people from there know. you ever been to the hidden waterfalls in elmore county? the cahaba river natural preserve? seen the tallest point in the state?
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS as a youtuber or whatever you're called, that's not a polite answer to any person. Come to mobile and see for yourself that's not even half of mobile.this guy didn't even know why the tunnel was closed!! Everyone from mobile knows it's Mardi gras
I lived in Wildwood heights from 1971-1986 . You could have your door unlocked and you were safe at night. Now the house are run down and windows boarded up. We use to have yard of the. Month you would have a sign with a big blue ribbon on it and your house and name in the paper. Take university Blvd get off at panama Blvd turn on Catalina and then on satacoy look at the abandoned house with 2 trees in front yard. That was my house I lived in. Both my parents killed them self in the 1 st bedroom facing the street. It's been abandoned since 1997.
You passed by the bend off residence alongside the Jimmy residence I used to live right there across the street from the bend off residence right there at 8:59 and until I moved here to ringle no Shreveport and that neighborhood is the best neighborhood you can get out there it's the best it was Gloria works at the gas station
The way it was explained to me is that decades before any of us were born there were businesses in Prichard that thrived and continued forward into what would be our childhoods. Then economic issues and epidemics moved in and the businesses bottomed out. In those same spots there are lots or shells left from those businesses. Now how severely you describe Prichard is not my experience. The optics are an issue. The inconveniences too. But it's danger level is not troubling to me like that. Or maybe I'm so tough as nails so it doesn't phase me. The thing that throws me off is ghetto ppl. Outside of that, I was never bothered when there. It was usually pretty quiet.
The audacity of this out of towner to come in our citiy & neighborhoods & low grade us because a certain area is impoverished stricken. And there's good people who lives in those areas. And there's other area that are upscale & very nice. Like I said he's a out of towner don't know what he's talking about. Trying to get views. Mobile is good living💯
This video is completely misleading. Mobile is a great place. You just selectively chose the worst parts to film. What you did is like going to a nice restaurant, and judging the food from what you pulled from the trash
"Good people huh" lol I think I know what he meant. I was raised in Mobile stayed there for 15 years and like any City there's good there's bad. Prichard not because it's a bad area, but like mobile is suffers from poverty. Anywhere where there'sa high poverty level you're going to have crime. Bring new jobs to the area and it will be fine. Mobile is one of the oldest cities in America people don't give its due. It must be those good people.
I've been here all my life and watching your video for the first time, I was praying you weren't SHOT in the high crime districts you drove thru, like Duvall st., Houston st., Broad st. All those places were my stomping grounds in the '70's and early '80's. The Wallace Tunnel was my very first Company job as a welder which my dad was over all the welding that was done on the tunnel. My mother launched the 2nd section of of it behind Lurleen Wallace, the wife of George Wallace who launched the first section. You may want to learn where these high crime areas are, on your next excursion before endangering yourself and the young lady with you. I wish you two the best.
first gas station stop is a block away from my house now im watching to see if i show up in your video 😂😂😂 Update: at 29:27 you end on the same street my house is 😮
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS there are plenty of nice areas in Mobile, you’re just not showing them in your video. Plus, the Eastern Shore in Baldwin County is only 10-15 minutes away.
You can drive through any mid to large sized city anywhere in the country and find bad neighborhoods. This video is pointless as is the creator of this video. We recently moved to the Mobile area from Florida and it is the best move we ever made. Period. Share something positive... so much good here to see here.
Hi I just subscribed, Mobile has both good and bad parts. The hoods are closer to downtown Mobile and the safer parts are farther west. Mobile population was 202k now it's 186k.
It's neighborhoods àll over Ala that needs cleaning up old ugly houses messed up yards the houses clearly not fit to live in Selma Alabama Dallas county Ala those houses is really a big eye sore

The scene will be blurred in a few days it takes for RU-vid to process my edits. I hope i never have to see another person from ALABAMBA again personally
Mobile is kinda a party town, downtown and it's older and retired people 60 yrs old plus can't do house maintenance and such nicer areas are west mobile and quieter I live in the country in north west mobile..
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS its funny how yall get on here and only ride through the lower income inner city side of town (which every major city in a State has) and give no valid points.. hell atlanta and Chicago have nice sides and then they're are the terrible sides..mobile just hasn't had gentrification set In yet and it sounds like it bothers you..

2nd most dangerous city in USA for 2023 and the lowest life expectancy of any city in USA as well.. what else do you need to prove its a bad place to live?
Ignorant mindset, if you hate it so bad stay out of it. Negative about things you don't know. I was born and raised there, went to high-school in one of the areas you were driving in. My dad was a merchant mariner for over 40 years, poverty was not our claim, and it isn't alot of folks from Mobile. There are plenty of cities that have issues, but that doesn't make the city bad in all. One of your videos you drove in the gas station parking lot to film some guys you felt were beneath you. And stop saying these people. Go to Louisiana since it is spectacular compared to Mobile and stay away. Military vet and a current DOD employee, I can say Mobile helped with all of that. The city is more than crime and some old housing developments. Get your mind right my guy.
@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS my aunts, uncles and cousins still live there. My grandmother is 89 and still here. Those numbers don't capture half of this area. HISTORY AND HERITAGE IS THERE.
