I can’t wait to watch this video. I’m in a very fortunate position that I can afford one and I’ve been debating between this and a 911 Turbo. I’m a Brit living in the US so it’s only right that I support British manufacturing and drive and enjoy something that will always be a reminder of home. As a side note, your content is fantastic Tim - credit to you and your team!
I would def wait for the new 992.2. I’am for sure. The Vantage’s stats, hp, 0/60, handling, software etc will be outdated (again) as soon as the new 992.2 (Turbo) arrives. It’s just a better performer. And will even improve with the 992.2. I also prefer having the extra 2 seats in the back (come in handy more often than you’d think), 4-wheel drive (feels so secure in any condition), allround camera’s (rear view on the vantage only? Come on its 2024), last but not least a slide/tilt glass rooftop option 🥳
You are 100% right. Like you, the first thought I had when looking at this drivable work of art, was indeed the One-77. In my opinion, the One-77 deserves way more credit than it gets. I’ve always been surprised you don’t hear able it as much as a similar type car in Aston’s line as with other liked brands. It’s a shame though, I’m sure I’m not the only one who would like to see it being put through its gear in some beautiful location around the world, or even having it reviewed by such people like Doug DuMoro or Hoovie and the Car Wizard. By the way, the colour chosen for this particular test car is phenomenal. Normally such a colour, on paper, would not be one I would have chosen, but damn…she’s fine.
lawrance stroll really did turn around aston martin i'd say you can see he is actively involved with his passion eventhough he owns soo many other businesses
The front heavily resembles the One-77, which is a nice little 15th birthday hommage to the car. The headlights do make it look a bit off though..but you can still tell they directly took the front fascia of the One-77.
Mr JWW and Mat Watson were on this press trip. To think this is the entry level Aston Martin. Its not short changed. So much car. I'd have it over a Porsche Turbo S. Looks beautiful and the interior lift was needed. Its got proper supercar power now. And the front end looks mega on track.
I love how I watched both Mat Watson's video on this and then immediately watched this while still being thoroughly entertained via the presentation. 😎👌
This is one of the prettiest new cars being made. I went to the online configurator and was blown away by the options. Porsche can't touch that. I only wish that Aston Martin held their value like a Porsche. I would take mine in silver.
Seeing Shmee hooning around a car on track is rare and a definite illustration of how high the fun factor of this car really is. I had alot of fun watch this video. Thank u very much Shmee
If had the choice between two cars the new Vantage and the Ferrari Roma I would hands down buy the Vantage instead of the Roma as I think it is all round a better looking and better sounding car and has a better looking interior than the Roma, if I had a Roma on order I would cancel and go for the Vantage.
I absolutely agree, Aston martins for a few years were a pretty underwhelming driving experience due to the interiors and the overall issues that comes with the cars but this seems to be a huge step up. Unfortunately even if it’s a much better, car I doubt he would cancel the Roma for a vantage. However maybe he will choose this over the amg gt as that car strikes me as a bit of a disappointment as well. Also could be some behind the scenes tid bits that decide which cars he gets like some people speculate as of recent.
@@Sammy-qt9it the pedigree and characteristic of this Vantage is really different, with the Vanquish incoming it would allow him some advantage to purchase Martin’s rather well additionally
I've seen the number of grey paint options on the Aston Martin configurator. It's crazy how many there are! But if there's one person who can distinguish each of them by tone and by name, it's Shmee! Probably? 😄
Tim I’m rewatching this video early September. Loving the POV view and hearing that glorious engines a second watch. I’m Hugely impressed with this vantage and Aston martins new design philosophy the new vanquish is a beauty and its V12 is 👌 if I had this money to spend, I would have to think very careful between the vantage and vanquish sports car v GT cruiser. Loved the design being a long term Aston admirer
Great to see AM getting it right with their new cars recently. DBX and DB12 look superb. The standout for me has been the new interior with the integrated screens rather than those awful stuck on top of the dash screens on previous Vantage. I took the previous Vantage out on track and couldn't get away from the fake piped in engine noise. Hopefully that's been improved in the new car.
I could definitely see the new Vantage being in your collection at some point down the line. Out of the two cars that it competes with, the Ferrari Roma and Porsche 911 Turbo, I would choose the Vantage without a doubt. The Roma is a beautiful car, but the interior functions are not ideal due to Ferrari over-digitizing their interiors and the Ferrari name leaves a poor taste in my mouth at times despite its history of making some of the world's most legendary cars, and while the 911 lineup is fantastic in many ways, especially when talking about the S/T and GT3 RS, it still has become such an oversaturated car where to me it doesn't feel all that special. The Vantage in this form, is a beautiful middle ground. It doesn't take itself too seriously while also being a beast of a machine on the track and twisty roads. This renaissance that Aston Marin is in is what ultimately led it to become my favorite sports car brand. I'm now intrigued by this company's history and what they have in store for the future. I cannot wait to start potentially seeing these whenever I'm out at the Hamptons in New York.
No I say the most outrageous and awesome Aston is the V12 Vantage S from two gens ago. Not much slower than the new one but is crazy enough to out bonkers Bonkers candies. Manual version of course.
Tim really looking forward to watching the video i bet they don't offer it with a manual gearbox. I love the look of Aston Martin. I saw your video on the pagani with the manual box it just frustrating because they make amazing cars.
If they ever do down the line, they will only offer limited numbers and will charge you almost double which sucks but it's fair given that next to no one buys them and they cost more to develop than they sell.
As good as some Astons have been, I feel like this version really is a step forwards again towards new competition. Is there a third Aston Martin shaped parking space developing in the garage 🧐😉
This is the 1st iteration of this car. I dont know if these cars will hold enough value to he worth sinking +200K into, new. Its still no 911 GT3 at the end of the day.
Why do people who collect super cars, rarely seem to add an Aston Martin to their collections? There's a masculine presence with Aston Martin that you don't get with other super car manufacturers. It's the association of the James Bond image that plays heavily in the brand that makes you feel confident, strong and some would say virile. Other super car manufacturers would love to capture that essence
nicely done Aston Martin bringing the Vantage into the modern sports car/GT world. this wud be a lovely addition to the garage Tim especially if Aston Martin make a track version.
Wow! I can't believe that Shmee is in my land of Huelva enjoying the sun and I'm in your UK that won't stop raining today xD Please feel at home and if you can, stop by our beaches, which are more than wonderful. Everyone who reads this comment is invited to Huelva, a diamond in the rough. Pd: Correction: It isn't outside of Seville, it is in Huelva, a different city 😘😘
No massage seats? Do they offer special luggage for the car like a lot of companies do for their grand touring vehicles? I could see Aston-Martin teaming up with Samsonite or Hermes for some custom luggage.
Feels like Aston Martin has gained back something it has lost before. It’s own engine. The previous generations of the V8 vantage felt a little tame with the muffled engine sound. Lovely!
I know another British automotive RU-vidr, 'Mr. 25%' we'll call him for those that remember years ago, he said that this was the best Vantage he has ever driven and the best Aston-Martin road car he's ever driven. But he also does a lot of stuff with Aston-Martin so I never truly trust his opinion as being unbiased so to hear you say these things as well makes me think that it really is almost as good as a Porsche GT3. Would that be your opinion as well?
Hello Shmee! You’ve made another excellent video! I've been following you for a long time and I'm a big fan. I’d love to get your advice. Currently, I have an AMG GTR and I’m considering upgrading to the new Vantage. How do their performances compare? Which car has the better performance?I hope to hear your thoughts!
The rear of the vantage is literally one of the best in the world. The front just looks like a Ford Puma (The headlights specifically), the previous variation was an Mx5. Feel like they're missing something with the front end.
Hey did you pass through Seville this last week in a convertible db11 ( don't remember the model exactly). You had also had a mate in a convertible jag? Both had UK plates?
This over a new AMG GT anyday - driven the previous gen often Vantage, with the tt v8 - great car but the interior was a bit lacking. Glad AM changed the interior on this one
Resubscribed! This is the first video of Shmee's that I've watched in probably three years. Loved hearing that Vantage sound and the track experience felt amazing to watch.
You don't have enough time to do your own thing at these events, let alone cross over with others. For what it's worth, we were not in Spain on the same dates, so it would not be possible anyway.
Make an NA V12 manual version with hydraulic steering, mechanical differential, without GT style spoiler. Only boys care about the most powerful, best 1/4 mile, quickest 0-60. Nose lift should be required. Road bumpers everywhere nowadays.
@@Shmee150would you go as far as to say that magma red is in the cards or are you going for a silver Ferrari or Monaco yellow? Also shmee150 I am from South Africa! You have a ton of fans from here
Cool information 😎 What's the difference between that Aston Martin and Mercedes AMG and SL? One of my friends who's fan of these cars told me that Aston Martin just keep taking Mercedes AMG and do slit change with Aston Martin logo if you check it considering numbers Correct me if I'm wrong Keep up the great work
