If I am not wrong (I am Tunisian but not from Tunis), the army vehicles' presence at the beginning of the video is for the embassy of France (and consulate too) in large buildings just in front of the cathedral.

8:28 Local people shop everywhere.. just it depends on areas, some places can be more or less clean .. I live in Paris .. and you can have that contrast also in Paris .. But that massive dirtiness sometimes in Tunisia is something just new .. It was never the case before 2011

Good job 👏 Can I just say your videos are massively under viewed which is odd because the editing quality and the way the content is put together and the final result is out standing if you ask me I’m half British half Algerian so I’m happy to see a genuine tourist travel and visit these parts of North Africa and enjoy it good luck hopefully your videos get the views they deserve I will support this channel with likes and views when I see your content and I’ll subscribe

Hi Chris. Wife and I back in Morocco now after a fantastic 3wk stay in Tunisia. Used the small Taxis for local and Louage for going between towns. All great. Hope to return and venture more South sometime. People great, helpful and friendly. Was a shortage of milk and sugar in shops and water often turned off at night to concerve. Only stayed in one hotel in Hergla when we arrived for a few days, airb&b in all the other places. These were clean, well equiped and private terrace in each. Between £15/20 a night. Am sure you will share some great places and look forward to seeing them. Cheers

You must have got around a fair bit in a 3 week stay. I only had a couple of weeks myself but made it across to Tozeur and the desert. Zaafrane and Matmata were as far south as I could get in the time I had. Still, hopefully I can share some places you didn't make it to. Thanks for watching!

Another fascinating video of your travel to Tunisia showing not only the smart tourist area but the not so smart area that most people don’t visit. However an area that should be shown even if you want to avoid it! Many thanks Chris.

You look happier here than in Morocco... Which Country do you prefer between those two? I have been many times in Morocco and one of my next trips will be Tunisia. Food and decorations there must be awesome, and maybe the food can be even better than in Morocco. And the sea is certainly way better (but I love Morocco anyways). Hope you have been in Tozeur and other places in Tunisia so I can watch the videos 😁

I couldn't pick one over the other. I've spent a lot more time in Morocco and Tunisia was a brand new adventure so that alone could explain looking happier 🙂 I did go to Tozeur and around that area, so the video will be coming. But next up, Sousse and the first journey south. Hope you'll join me!

I was in Tunis last week and walked along many of the streets in your vlog. The domed building you mentioned is actually a mausoleum ! Even in January, the Medina was packed and I didn't enjoy the experience. Much preferred the calm of Sidi Bou Said ❤ Look forward to seeing more from Tunisia 🇹🇳
@ChrisKermis
@ChrisKermis 8 месяцев назад
@@JustTunes31 That's great! I found that the Medina was just crazy busy in the central part near Victory Square and the more tourist focussed streets, but could be really quiet away from that. Still, not my favourite but a great start. I certainly preferred some of the other places I visited, and they'll be coming.

You should also try to stroll through the streets and narrow alleys of the European city, the old European neighborhoods, where you can see many old French, Italian, Sicilian, Maltese, Tunisian-Maltese buildings, etc. Discover plenty of gems and beautiful things by getting lost in the European quarter of Tunis.

Which country do you recomend for a person visiting north Africa for the first time, morocco or tunisia?
@ChrisKermis
@ChrisKermis 4 месяца назад
Hard to say for someone else, personally my order of the two was Morocco -> Tunisia in terms of first visits. Morocco is more touristed so has more infrastructure for tourists if that’s a consideration. Both are fairly easy and great to travel though!
@stond
@stond 3 месяца назад
Tunisia is a small country so if you want to stay in one city morocco might be the better choice because in Tunisia you can see the whole city in just 2-3 days. If you're planning to visit multiple cities and maybe even rent a car, then Tunisia is the better option because the cities are close to each other and very diverse. The north has a lot of greenery, the east has beautiful beaches and the south has the sahara desert. So in terms of diversity and scenery id say Tunisia, in terms of infrastructure and night life then morocco.
