I was taken on a tour of the place maybe 15 years ago. Crazy story actually...it was Halloween night and we went there just to touch the back of he house. There were caretakers that surprised us at gunpoint for trespassing and after much yelling back and forth I guess they realized we meant no harm and took us inside...right inside the back of the house was a very small dining area (not formal) with a table and chairs. In the table they had a tape recorder and played what was in there from the night before. Lots of cabinet doors banging repeatedly and chairs being slid across the room loudly. The basement was flooded at the time so we couldn't go downstairs. But upstairs was the bedroom that supposedly the wife died in bed and the old iron framed bed was still there. They even took us us to the widows peak (maybe the wrong name but the tower on top).... they showed us the beam that supposedly the husband had hung himself from. We stood on top on the tower which had a 2 foot tall fence around the perimeter. Super unnerving. As we were being shown around they were telling stories of it being haunted and I was not really buying it... but standing back at our car as we looked back at the house there was a figure of a woman in the window of the bedroom that she died in ( 2nd story...2nd window from the left) I have never believed in such things until then and will never forget this place
There are things you just can't explain like where are used to live at 119 State Street Batavia New York. It is a very old house built in 1914. And I was going to the bathroom at night and I saw an apparition of a little girl with a bonnet. It didn't phase me I didn't think about it till the next day it wasn't a mean ghost I guess. But I saw it again I saw it three times the same Apparition standing by the really old fireplace. When my son got older we're having a drink on New Year's and I was telling him about it and he said he also saw The Apparition. I think I have the $0.06 and I can tell when things are there like in my garage upstairs it's really old and it really feels like cold chills and Somebody's Watching You that's what it feels like when a ghost is there. They are everywhere
So happy the home was recently purchased and is being restored to it's former glory. They have already taken great steps to mitigate further deterioration.❤
@@addicted2baseballrgd21 Thank you for that- this house has so much potential and is a lot better to restore than some of the newer homes they build today. Thanks again. ( "addicted" had posted a link but now it's gone-a man took some people on a tour through the house and it was a video of that)
@m14lvr I hope they restore and not renovate. I like original not tear out and modernize. Some people bought this old house here in town and it had radiators in it. They still worked just before they moved in and they didn't want them because they said they leaked mercury around a fitting downstairs. excuse me no. I don't know I have no idea what was going on. Solder?
I'm surprised the Kansas City H8storical Society has not set upon conserving the Hiuse, due to it's obvious Historical Value. The Architecture and the exterior bricks + design details are clearly priceless.
It is being fully restored by professionals, no ghosts. The owner in the 1960's that lived there was asked if he had ever seen ghosts, he just laughed and said I've never seen any in all the years I've lived here
I Also Grew up around this Castle & in The 1980 s They had a Walk thur &.Me & My Sister in Law went through the Tour Witch I took pics so yes the Stair case is Very Beautiful & Inside was very Pretty Also I have the pics on 1 of my Old phones .& Also got News paper clippins here at my House I need to get pics Blew up & Share them . But who knows if I can get around to doing that . I'm going to be Surprised wat the news owners Do with it. Hopefully a Bed in Breakfast. Who knows . I've always wanted to go inside & glad I got to tour it. 😊
It’s being fully restored now thankfully. The roof was rotted and leaked and bricks were falling down. So far the tower is restored and some of the support beams in the ceiling and new roof for the proper time period. Everything is to be restored to new in its era clear down to using copper
I went there once and so did my dad. He came back and said "there was this dog-like thing in my face and it was like...barking in my face. there was a fence and I felt the breath!" (He went on Halloween)The last time i went, i took a picture and there was this weird ghost like thing in the window. It was super weird!!! The story is when Sauer's daughter died, he hung himself in the bell tower. I hope this helps.
yo I live off of south 10th street and i live right around the corner from the castle I only been up in there one time and its creapy but me and my friends did not go into the basement cus we heard somebody down there so he said lets leave and we did then we heard somebody telling us to hurry up but there was 3 of us and we was together but the voice was coming from the dining room cus we got in from the kitchen cus that wall was fallen in
My friend was outside of this with his son and his son had his phone just playing with camera. When he looked back at it, clear as day you could see a woman in a white dress standing in the second floor windowm
I saw a huge spirit dragging a real body and slamming it up against a wall. Blood was flying everywhere. I ran, then snuck back later, not a drop of blood to be found.
