The viaduct being constructed for double track gives hope that maybe one day the Princes Risborough single track branch line may take on a more important role and perhaps one day extend further than Aylesbury Parkway station. But probably not in my lifetime, judging how long absolutely anything takes to build on British railways nowadays. I believe provision has been made for a dual carriageway road to act as a bypass to run up to a the roundabout on the A418 on the edge of town to connect up with the A41. That's very much needed as the passage of traffic through the centre of the town can be a nightmare. That said, it might make the traffic through Stone intolerable or via Fairford Ley intolerable if it encourages a lot of traffic. It's a route commonly taken by traffic from the M40 to the M25.
