Being an IOP is quite the investment in terms of time and money. Started my journey in 2013 with my undergrad and finished my masters in 2019. Did my internship in 2020 and just recently wrote board exams. That’s almost 9 years invested in this qualification. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. It has been a rewarding journey…
@@NthatiMonethi Hi Nthati! I have an Honours in Accounting but I'm gonna make a career change soon. Is it worth the time and money to start with an IOP degree since I'm turning 30 next year in June. Would it really benefit me since I'm already entering my 30 's
😭😭😭I am having a hard time in finding a job, i have an undergrad degree in Industrial psychology currently doing my honours (PART -TIME ). Any advices like where can i apply
I’m currently completing my doctorate degree in IOP. I worked as a school psychologist, behavior analyst, and clinical counselor. I’m worried I don’t have any business experience. Any advice? Thank you.
Congratulations🙌🏼, yoh I’m on a break and not by choice 🤣. I would say you should volunteer at corporate. Then once you are I. The system you can be easily absorbed. This industry is literally scarce. So I’d say volunteer in HR if you don’t succeed in IOP
Great video, I'm currently enrolled in HR management (BA programme) of which I'm going to complete in December 2023. I had thought about joining this IOP course. My concerns are: what will be the entry requirements? If I'm accepted which Ievel will I be put in, Bsc, Hrns, Msc?? And last, how long would it take to complete this course for someone with a degree in HR management 🤔
Thank you for the information, i am currently doing my second year in IOP with unisa . My question is can i do career counseling/guidance for students/learners with a degree only or honors. I am currently working at an university doing student support.
Hey new subbie here! I’m currently doing HR management in college and when I’ve graduated, done an internship then want to transition into IOP. What advice do you have for me? Is the transition possible or should I take another route rather? I love IOP.
Hey new subbie😍😍, congratulations on your new adventure. Yes transition is possible. As far as I know, there is IOP that focuses on employee wellness and that of labour relations. The first 3 years of IOP degree is general course. When you do your honours you will decide whether you will major in employee wellness or labour relations. The transition is way possible and they might credit you on some courses. I had done BSc so I was not credited on any of the courses I did all of them. All the best Siya .
@@NthatiMonethi hi nthati , I am currently doing my final year in industrial psychology and really want to do my honours next year but I am not sure to take honours in industrial psychology and labour relations or just do my honours straight into labour relations management..I really love industrial psychology but I just can't decide Thank you 💟
Hello Nthati, great video. I am a college student and I need to network with people in the psychology industry, I was wondering if could ask you a few questions about your career?
Thank you for this video, I`m waiting for an offer from UNISA for this course, I`m nervous . Just a quick question can I get a job after my undergraduate degree or I have to write board exam first?
I advice you apply for a job in HR section first for experience. For you to be a qualified industrial psychologist you have to write a board exam after completing your masters. You will still get a job but not as a qualified psychologist, maybe an HR officer or wellness specialist
Okay I will have to check my previous financial statements . But if u do recall my fee was 15-17k and that’s because I was an international student so I paid 5 k more .
I have a question as someone who just graduated high school and is about to start college. What should I take for my undergrad degree? Is it just for psychology?
@@NthatiMonethi I’m passionate about helping people find their optimal selves. I believe being an IO Psychologist would give me the ability to help people be their best at work:)
I am doing my last year in IOP ,would you advice me to be enrolled at UNISA kapa it should be my last option and also the HR body I registered with ke SABPP i think you should try registering with them
Irene lerotholi unisa is now accredited babe. It’s the best Orion when u have a job. I wouldn’t have made it till this far had it not been of Unisa. However, like I said, it takes a bit longer ka a year or 2 years to be done completely unlike if you are enrolled full time with other institutions. Okay thank you babe I will have a look at SABPP😍🌸🙏🏽

Hi sis Ntathi, can you still find employment with just an Honors degree, I heard the masters program is very competitive and hard to get into. I'm and strongly considering this degree
Is it advisable to study a Bcom (majoring in industrial psychology) , Badmin in industrial psychology or BA (majoring in psychology) as someone who has finished matric and looking forward to becoming an IOP ?
Most honours programs are easier to get into if you majored in IP, they also have a preference for people with a bit of statistical knowledge, so I'd suggest one of the first two
