The Most High is Love itself which is life. Those who do not forgive or that are full of resentment are cut off from the spirit of Truth. Then the pure motive of the heart is corrupted and the motive changes within. The word motive etymologically means to move which creates a 3D or a mechanical response. And though one may be white as snow on the outside, doesn't mean that what's inside the cup is fit to drink my friend. Agape to you !

@@davidmaligo5647 if you go to 1st Corinthians chapter 13 and look up the word love in Greek Strong's concordance, you will find out it is a specific type of love which is agape love. And it is written, without that love one is nothing. The etymology of the word religion means to bind. There is nothing one can do on their outside to change their inside condition of a deceitfully wicked heart. The five virgins who were lacking oil, when you go to that word oil in the Greek strongs concordance, it means empowered Holy Spirit. That is why I just written they speak of me with their mouths but their hearts are far from me. The reason is it's because men's hearts are not full of the Holy Spirit which is divine love for God and man...... It is full of conditional love which is of the adversary / accuser. As you probably know with yourself and other surround you, you cannot perfect the flesh..... It is the sin (lower nature) one is Born into. Nothing but love and peace to you my friend. If people were not capable of achieving agape love, yeshua would have never told the people to love one another as he has loved them. When you look up the word love there, you will also find the word agape. 🙃

At one time in my selfishness i choose drugs & alcohol over obedience & monastisism & now i live in deep regret being careful not let it turn to despair! By God's grace i have not drank or used hard drugs in a very long time. This is nothing to be proud of but i do think by God's grace i have a clearer mind. I feel I am different from whom I was. I feel I am trapped in a horrible patterns of thinking. I don't feel sensitive and contemplative of life anymor. I feel socially anxious, awkward when talking to others, easily discouraged and I feel like the devil is mocking me. I feel destroyed inside. Like blunt and abused. I have fallen innumerable times into the pit of homosexual sin. I feel unknown even to myself. I cannot recall my childhood as I used to and I cannot relate to the things that used to be meaningful to me anymore. I know I have affected my family. I should've been a good brother to my little sisters, but I was an absolute disappointment. Now I know I have affected my house. I have given many worries to my mother, to my father, even to my sisters. I feel I am destroyed. Impossible to be rebuilt and restored. I feel far from myself. From who I used to be: the happy child with the happy childhood is gone. Now, I don't even know myself. I have abandoned since a week ago my sinful life... And that is a lot to say. But sometimes a discouragement comes and tells me no matter how hard I try to repent, I'll be forever destroyed and I won't be able to be restored and, even worse... I'll never be forgiven. I feel I have hijacked all of my own capacities, dreams, talents and blessings. I have done all this for the pure love of nothing: for the pure love of passion, sin and corruption. Please. I beg your help.
Have courage and faith in the Lord. Don’t fall into despair because there is not act of man that can seperate him from God. The is no sin that can’t be forgiven through repentance. You can be a good influence to your family.

In summary: Daily repentance, prayer and attendence at worship services including recieving of the holy bread keeps us safe from demonic influences which have already been sentenced by the Lord to be only crawling around in the dust. While being a devout Christian by doing so we no longer desire to be repeating our errors in the condition of being possessed by sin.

This is so timely a discussion for me Father Spyridon. Recently dealt with someone who would be classified as having "narcissistic personality disorder." Many say that it is a demonic condition. They seduce, and then they destroy and abandon you. The Lord is my healer and with Him I will overcome this hurt. Thank you for your words.

This needs to be spoken about more often, it is absolutely true and if people would only accept and understand that the demonic realm is real, they could understand Jesus more completely, His ministry and what the Cross was all about. 1John 3:8 "Jesus came to destroy the works of satan."
The story of the demoniac is one of my favourites in the Gospels. It is rich in meaning and warning. Thank you Fr. for giving a deeper interpretation of the story, and for emphasizing the importance of this story, especially now when the world has gone bonkers. The consequences of sin to oneself and others cannot be underestimated, nor should it be ignored.
After around 10 years of frequently reading bible, phases of therapy and having met people do drugs, mental health struggles, even a few with schizophrenie (one of whom is Christian) - I belive what you are saying; you are basically saying what I have been assuming for a long time. I still want to read more about Carl Jung and Siegmund Freud, just to speak the language of "of the world" about these things. But we can also learn from Freud's or Jung's theories. There is alot of work to be done with regards to repentance in my life I now understand. Better late than never eh. Maybe I'm finally ready to fully act. Do prostate as much as you can daily with exception of some days as saturday and sunday etc..., fast and pray psalms,try to contact your nearest local orthodox church priest.Believe in the lord you will pass this temptation as the lord of lords made the sky stand still without visible pillars so will he gave us invisible pillars that gives strength against all evil .

Great advice already given, but just remember, your sins are washed away with confession and the Eucharist, but repentance is a lifelong struggle for theosis.
Great message. I feel confession is our answer to grow spiritually and to grow more in our relationship with God. The more we go the better our conscience will be formed and developed.
I believe everything is integrated as it should be in the human psyche. That is the real war, and to realize that the whole is you and you are all. Hell is another choice to stay in denial of this ultimate reality. When you hurt others, you hurt yourself, and you will keep hurting until you totally submit yourself to your higher reality, in here there is no sin and good deeds are just deeds. Bless you

Maybe someone here can help me. I was baptized Catholic, holy communion and was co firmed ( around 1989-90?). Around that time I became an "atheist" and very "new age", did reiki and new age, lots of strange things. In March 2017 (after GOD coming to me, a sinner) and giving me grace.....I went to confession and have been in an up and down spiritual battle since...today I was back to feeling I have no purpose and am never going to become me a saint...I'm feeling despair....I found this talk. Please pray for me, it's a long story and I'm feeling like I'm losing.....
Join the Orthodox Church, you see here this man produces good fruit, he is a good tree, and only good trees produce good fruit, and only gods people produce good fruit, this man is one of gods people, this man is apart of the Eastern Orthodox Church, that must be the church that keeps his faith true, the church that hears his word and does it. If you think this man has good fruit then go find where gods people gather and join them, go get baptized, but this time I’m not just water like in the Catholic Church, but with spirit.
at times i have been possessed by demons and evil temptation - i launch my faith full at them when it happens and chant and force them out until i find true peace and feel the full love of the Lord again
I am orthodox, i have taken communion a long time ago, i tried confession and still have no desire to repent because i have never seen it as anything but a way to feel better about sinning, and a way to be financially bound through guilt to the church.
We are all effected by this... But I keep thinking how much that I have damaged myself and other being in such a bad spiritual state... I keep being mad about how weak I/we may be able to repent. And why God lets anyone become such a mess when he is all about love. And how it's only God's power that can turn a persons heart to repent and be healed where we don't have the power why I fall so easily and the heart has become so evil. It was like getting born into a fallen world tried to get away or out of it only could last for so long while others were also affecting you. Then when I was thinking of "helping" others I got caught up in their spiritual mess too then tried (not hard) to avoid issues and sins but fell into other issues and sins and fell weak and turned also against all 😔 I seems impossible for us to repent perfectly because of our weak or corrupted part of our free will how deep and infused it's become in life and the heart/spirit that also become weak to the flesh... Where I needed God to work on my heart and not my choices to "overpower" or be able to deny his spirit of love. But then I also think God can show real love mercy and forgiveness to people who already "perfect" and don't need saving. (But then to be able to be like that who never sins or fall again? To be "prevented" have no risk of being so badly lost that you cannot get back? Not any one person should be impossible for God to save and His spirit to be greater to not let's any one loose but all to win with God and be saved and of His doing not ours). If it was for a "lesson" to be learnt already know how not smart or wise we are as fallen humans and don't really need to keep on seeing or learning how sin destroys us. Already has been around long enough and made many people impatient and worse but then some who has managed to have the faith love and strength has also been blessed with that to really be able to deal and love through life right with God. Why would you want that? Or how I get mad about it not reaching it or even when we all need Jesus to even be able to make or do anything but wish He only made us do everything right with love and not let evil take over anyone 😔
