This shows how important LA is for work but it can be a difficult place to live mental health wise.Escpically if your a young person.But it looks like a potential fun place to live though if your with good people.

I feel that many youtubers that move to LA end up feelings lonely and find LA to be very superficial… which is sad. I’m born and raised in LA and not a part of social media industry in any way shape or form, so the relationships I’ve built are founded on genuine interest for one another. HOWEVER LA can be very superficial, even amongst people who are not in social media. These experiences that influencers have are very real however only show a very small part of LA.

as someone who lives in LA, if you don’t surround yourself with superficial pple and don’t do shallow things all the time like go to urth, catch and alfreds … LA is amazing. it’s what you make it and who you surround yourself with. pple who move here with unrealistic expectations, always end up bashing LA bc of their own stupidity.

influencers will move to LA and only hang out in popular places absolutely dense with other influencers and accredit the toxicity they experience to the city, when in fact the city can have lovely creatives and even just people with "regular jobs" that don't involve being public figures.

As someone who also lives in LA people base all this hate toward LA because it is "crowded and there are sketchy people. well, the thing is to go anywhere other than melrose and Hollywood. I know in her situation she moved here very young but also don't bash on the whole city when you've only been in the crazy places of it . LA is a great place yes it can be expensive but what city isn't at this point, but if you wanna actually see LA go somewhere other than overpopulated and tredy areas.

Constantly torn between wanting to defend the city in which I was raised and also not wanting to say a word because LA natives want influencers and creators and other entertainment types to stop coming here anyway lmao. LA is what you make it and there’s more to it than just going to trendy bars and restaurants. That’s a small portion of what the city has to offer and it can often be very shallow (along with the people who frequent those places….who are almost never LA natives). If you surround yourself with good people who aren’t just trying to get ahead in the entertainment industry and branch out from Melrose and West Hollywood, you’ll enjoy the city so much more.
