Think again.
Even though I've studied it a lot over my academic career, REALITY still gets in the way.
There are several truly exceptional programs, but here's the real deal...
Many practitioners blindly push #LIMBICSYSTEM retraining while turning a blind eye to CRUCIAL factors like #chronicinfections or #neurodivergence (#ASD, #ADHD #AuDHD anyone?)
Personal "failures" with these systems can mean that people are less likely to believe they will work the next time around! Experience paints perception- this is why we need to set people up for success with these mind body medicine programs!
And of course, let's not forget about the PATIENT!
#Brainfog, #fatigue and general bandwidth for life (#spoonies unite!) can impact one's ability to engage in these mentally taxing programs... It can really make a patient feel badly about themselves when unrealistic expectations are set too early in treatment.
The take home: don't sweat it. #MindBodyMedicine programs aren't "one size fits all".
