we never really got an explanation on Tsukishima's and Yamaguchi's shirts. maybe they choose herbivore for Tsukishima because herbivore tend to be irritable and hard to cooperate with in nature. and mollusk because they are soft and mendable-easily influenced perhaps?
Sometimes it's easy to forget that Nishinoya is super into (Japanese) calligraphy and idioms, but then he goes and discusses them at length like this (Ryuu too, of course). What a nerd. I love him. :D
Yamaguchi and Hinata are soooo damn precious here (´;ω;`) Hinata keeps on getting hyped up like a precious little cinnamon roll while Yamaguchi is sooo DAMN INNOCENT LIKE AHHHHHH
@@sour_pete4983 I mean it's kind of impossible to not love everyone in Haikyuu. My top 5 basically looks like 1) Suga, 2) Yamaguchi, 3) Noya, 4) Kenma, 5) Literally everyone else. Just pick whoever is on screen at that specific moment. They're all great
Yams is just too precious ;v; On a more serious note, romaji are like alphabets where you can tell the pronunciation straight away. Kanji refers to more complicated characters (which often come from chinese) that can be written as romaji as well. Idioms usually use more kanji than the japanese normally use in daily life since some of the idioms also come from chinese (or similar at least). That's why people who can read kanji are often referred to as better-educated (the reason why Suga was so surprised that Tanaka can read the words on their tees lol)
The characters' name often give hints to their personalities. For Kiyoko-san, her full name can be written in four kanji characters. Her surname (Shimizu) means pure or clear water, and Kiyo- means clean (with -ko as a common name for girls like Saeko). The name itself is beautiful and that's might be why Tanaka and Noya just straight up print it on her tee.
Noya and Asahi have similar names with the opposite meaning. Azumane means eastern hill/peak, while Nishinoya means western valley. Asahi means sunrise, whereas the kanji for Yuu means sunset. This is a word play on their contrasting personalities and how they compliment each other, one could not exist without the other. This may only refer to their roles as ace and libero in the team, but I also like to think that their friendship works the same way.
Idk if they do this in Japan too, but in China part of spring festivities is to write idioms or short sayings onto red papers and hang them outside doors. Also, I'd say that Chinese is actually pretty easy because it's mostly memorization and certain patterns can give you hints to the meaning of words. For example, the hooked vertical line crossed by one straight line and one diagonal line on the far left of this word 🈯 indicate the hands.
I can't get over the fact Tanaka literally said "hard boiled" at 2:10 See, in Gintama there was one character that used that world CONSTANTLY. And I never took it seriously. But this is an actual thing that Japanese people say to mean manly?? (I assume)
There’s also this one character in Kamen Rider that always uses it to refer to himself... but he’s a softy, so everyone else called him Half-Boiled. And he would get so pissed it’s hilarious.
wahhh so many precious moments 💓💓💓 1. Tsukki's laugh 2. Kageyama standing up for hinata aw 3. Yamaguchi being a smart baby 4. Hinata can't fucking read and i love him so much 5. Daichi being petty bc sugawara's shirt was cooler LMAO 6. Suga and Daichi being scared of Kyoko lol
Can we address the fact that Tanaka and Nishinoya just called both Tsukishima and Yamaguchi beta males. Like they didn’t even explain the shirt😂. Except Tsukki likes dinosaurs I guess and some dinosaurs are herbivores.
I love how Yamaguchi and Tsukki don't elaborate, they know they are the smart, non-agressive type (except for Tsukishima's spite of course) and they don't care
2:50 IT’S CANON, TSUKKI IS A SASS QUEEN 3:33 Jesus Christ, chill TSuKki- 4:19 The laugh I live for 4:33 DADCHI IS CANON 8:28 Good job my child, you my big brain child :’>
Alright, I'm like so emotional rn because I just watched anohana, and because of that when Suga did the Angel laugh™ I... ...I started crying *sigh* I love him so much
I have been diving into the Haikyuu fan arts and videos for a few weeks now and I have just recently found this channel. I really love listening to (well, or watch because I need the subtitles) these drama CDs because I'd get to imagine all the animation and faces they would make in my head. 😊
“Indomitable” Geez these creators really hate Suga huh? First he doesn’t get a lot of screen time, second they put the least thought into him, third they act like he’s just as good as everyone else, fourth he’s legit called the “The indomitable setter”. At least they complemented him..? But I loaf Sugaaaa, and it was cute how you put “Angel’s laugh”
VocalCandy Nito apparently Furudate only created the Suga character to fill in the Karasuno setter place until Kageyama got there. But then s/he ended up really getting attached to Suga! Which might explain why he’s super underdeveloped and little screen time but still has such a great personality
actually furudate was torn apart with suga, according to a recent interview. he made him a filler, but then gave him a personality and by his own words make him look like a bishonen (=pretty, girly boy) but he didn't feel like his own character, and the personality doesn't even match his appearance. so people often get suga wrong
Hmmm...only asahi got printed picture on it?did noya did it intentionally?hmm well just ignore that😂 Ahhh they're so cute😍😍i love yamaguchi😍😍he's so cute ahhh
I'm so glad I came back to rewatch this, I totally forgot about Kiyoko's T-shirt and the print on it lmao I wanna have two idiots like Noya and Tanaka too
