Your decision to leave Broughton's for family is very understandable, there are plenty of single drivers out there that could do the job. It would be good to see you and Claire if you decide to come to the Truckfest at Shepton Mallet this year, nor sure if I will be taking a truck this year as I am considering changing jobs that potentially give me the change to finally get in a class 1 since passing my test. I was wishing you to stay at ferrymans but we all do what we think is right at the time. Hats of to you for trying different things. Have you not considered local tipper work you'll get plenty of hours but home every night and weekends off.

Good to see Claire back on a bike! Having spent 32 years in the Royal Navy submarine service, I totally get where you’re coming from! You have to do what’s best for you, I missed too many big family events that I will never get back. Shame about the trucking vids but RC Helicopters sound good!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you as you was an big inspiration for me especially when I passed my class 1 2 years ago and your hints and tricks was a big help so thank you. You have to do what is right for you. After watching your videos it made me think about EU work but for the same reasons I decided not to. All the best mate I’ll keep an eye out for you. Yes I agree with, it’s really hard and quite tough on the family working abroad. My Dad has been on the continent for many years when we where young kids So I think he did about 20 years on the continent, and it’s really hard for us and especially mum. So I completely understand. Dad is 70 this year and his always been in tramping and still going, Keep up the good work and I hope it goes well for you.

To be fully honest... There comes a time in life where family comes first... However it's sad to see no trucking vlogs anymore but i can fully respect it. Fully understand your decision buddy. I'm sure it doesn't help the HGV world the lack of break in-between working 'weeks'. Finising at 0100 hrs Sat morn, then re-starting 0300hrs on Mon, does not constitute a weekend. I will continue to sub.

Really missed the blogs, but "family comes first" !! It's funny how you take things for granted. We sit down as a family to watch - your really missed. May I make suggestion, with your knowledge and expertise, would you consider ( at your own discretion of course) making reviews of new tractor units, or any related commercial products, visiting trucking shows etc,etc... Take care, hope that Claire's health improves, and from us all many thanks for the last few years of your excellent blogs - take care !!

Martin...very understandable that you have made this choice. 2 weeks away from home every time can be bad for a relationship. And because you are away so much, you can never plan anything spontaneously. Capt slow has departed Broughtons too. I think the 2 weeks hit is a killer at on that job, maybe Broughtons should consider 4 on 4 off shifts to cover what they need and lower their driver turnover rate.
