Why do think Ryobi is less expensive? Do they break more easily, are they heavier, are they less accurate? I use Ryobi and I haven't had an issue but I am just wondering what I am missing with the other brands. I got into Ryobi since I bought one tool and then the battery fit an other tool and then I bought more batteries which fit more tools, flash lights, air pumps, weed eater, blower etc. and then I find two for one drills and impact drivers sold with extra batteries.

I've been a contractor for 15yrs. I started buying ryobi becuase of how often my tools were getting stolen/lost. Bottom line didn't hurt as bad, over the years I found thier quality is quite amazing. I've got vintage blues I still use at least 3xs a week going stronger than ever. Don't get me wrong..I do get laughed at while at work lol but I have a house, family, cars, trucks, etc...my buddies, well..they have tools that aren't green 🤣

I hear you mate! My work supplies Milwaukee but for myself I can't justify the cost difference between Milwaukee and Ryobi. How can I become a contractor or work for one and pull 6 figures so I don’t feel like a slave anymore
@01keyboard
@01keyboard 4 месяца назад
@Adioownz1 you can't work for one and pull 6figures unless you become an electrician. Outside of that, becoming your own contractor is simple...but nerve racking and stressful which is why most people don't, you dont have an employer paycheck every week, you only get paid if you generate your own work. However, if your confident. Have the drive, and have mastered a skill...YOU CAN DO IT!!! And pull that 6figure income your looking for but it's WORK. Come up with your fictitious business name, get your business license, get insurred, and start advertising. Do some low bid jobs to get your name out there (word of mouth by your customers is a must). Whether your working on forklifts, docks, doors, residential work, what you can do is endless. Even if you have no major skills or licenses..you can do lawncare, pressure washing, literally anything. I've even seen kids on my block making $1,000 a day going door to door and painting people's adress number on the curb for $25 a house. Even though it's a grind..anyone can do it. People are just scared to fail and want to feel secure so they continue to put on that hard hat, punch the clock, and fall in line.

the price is a factor. When I bought in on Ryobi in 2004, I wanted reliability, price and locations to get service. I came from Bosche, B & D and Makita. Today, many of those same tools I bought in 2004 still work. The drill has been with me as a Toyota Tech, mobile installer, construction and all my multi award winning builds and sponsored vehicles. Still using it today

The prices are close enough to where if the Ryobi was a lot lower quality than the others, it would be worth spending an extra $100. The fact that Ryobi is pretty good for the price makes it worth saving that hundred bucks

Ryobi has always been a good DIY tool company. But in the last 5 years or so, they have really upped their game. But still you can use the same batteries in older tools and newer tools. I've got some old blue tools that are still going. When I switched them to Lithium Ion batteries, they became better tools instantly.

The first one that I bought was an 18v drill/ flashlight set with 2 batteries and charger in a case. It was around $65 at a truckload tool sale. I liked it so much that I went back and bought another to use at work. This was about 20 years ago, and I’ve bought several more tools since. My neighbor is using my recip saw right now.

Bought a small electric pressure washer 5 years ago for about $60 on sale. Worked great for washing cars, washing the siding of the house, back patio and the drive way. Last about 3.5 years till it crapped out but for the price and the amount of use I got out of it, I say it was a good buy. Replaced it with a newer model for a similar price and it still working great.

I'll have to agree. Ryobi is a great DIY brand especialy since its fairly cheap. But once you start to use tools daily for work not just DIY. You'll start to see why ryobi is so cheap (ive used ryobi, makita and milwaukee)

People shit on ryobi. But if you aren't on the job site and just want a professional grade tool for you home, it'll do 10x more than what you need it to. And I work extensively on my own cars, I'm in Australia and I own a Fourbie which I work on and upgrade almost every weekend. Not once have I be using my dads makita or Milwaukee and thought "I definitely needed a $500 tool to do this". Realistically Milwaukee is at best 20% better and 200% more expensive. And those benefits will only be felt by someone who spends 8 hours a day using them. And I'm not biased, I'm 16 and don't really by my own power tools, but my dad is heavily into always buying the best tool because someday I'll receive those tools and I'll by working on his home for him. Only ryobi tool we've got is a hedge trimmer and what do ya know it works more than great.

I used Ryobi for probably a solid 10+ years as a DIY homeowner. They generally work, have sufficient power, reasonable feature set and battery life. When my current batteries died, I decided to upgrade. Heard too many bad support stories about Dewalt, so I went Milwaukee instead. Worlds of difference in power, balance, effectiveness(think hammer drill going through concrete block). It simply makes projects easier and safer. There's a reason why they are much more expensive -- i should have upgraded earlier.

Not just price - VALUE. There are cheaper tools, but Ryobi tools are highly dependable for the price. You'll see Ryobi tools everywhere across RU-vid, used by creators, car detailers, hobbiests, etc. They're good tools for a good price.

I used to love Ryobi. But in my last set bought in 2020, the driver is junk (no torque), reciprocating saw worked a few times and quit, one of the batteries died and the finish nailer I bought separately is very flakey. Not a good value at all. Next set I will move to higher quality tools.

There's a bit of confusion in this video. You say other brands are SEVERAL hundred dollars more and then you show several kits in the $500 range.

My ryobis, purchased in 2013-2015, saw ten years of casual use, mostly circular saw and impact driver. Very dependable for home user, definitely better than counterfeit makita. On the downside, some tools were too underpowered for their function. And one cordless drill was exceptionally prone to rust in humid air (no raindrops, no condensation just natural October air).

USED to be the price. If the only thing standing between Ryobi and Dewalt or Milwaukee is $15-20 then GET DEWALT OR MILWAUKEE. Ryobi was half the price for 3/4 of the top tier quality yet now it’s 3/4 the price for 3/4 the product. You’re already gonna be paying almost $100, if not more than $100, for a tool only 20v impact. At that point why not spend the extra and get the better brands with better product?

🛑🛑 I'm days away from committing to a brand..... Still doing my research, but I've already crossed off Ryobi because I've seen poor reviews. I am just a beginner. Was I wrong to reject Ryobi? I'm deciding between Bosch and Makita, which I understand is also for a lower budget but slightly better quality.
