YG does not send their artist to award shows because most are fake . Like the reason why GDragon diss MAMA . They give awards for atendance, popularity and in a way to please everybody instead of music quality . For example GD released a solo album in 2017 and was nominated for best male artist at MAMA Awards . He had 70% of votes from public, a world tour over 600 000 concert tickets sold , record nr1 on iTunes în 40 countries, sold a lot too. but they gave the award to another artist because GD didnt attend . Epik High leader Tablo ( Epik was an YG artist at that time) told a story how he got a call from MAMA organisers , told him they won an award but if they dont atend the ceremony show they will give it to somebody else . The group had a previous engagement and could not go to the award show .

One of the reasons why I don't watch korean music award shows nowadays is not only YG artists don't attend most of the time, but also awards shows just give awards to those who are popular and not because of the quality of music. It just became a battle of fandom rather than a battle of music. I miss the old times when artists enjoy performing on stage and how they interact with the audience. Today, most artists just focus on dancing/singing. Well that's not bad but I think it's not enjoyable to watch. I enjoy performances where the artists and audience are having fun. No offense meant. That's just my opinion 😁

In YG's case the while dating bs went back to it's foundations. People's earliest exposure here with YG might be with PSY. Well YG goes back further & actually the person in question here was PSY's best friend growing up lol. She also happens to be one of YG's legacy artists. Lexy was YG's first female solo artist & probably one of it's best. She helped with trainee's before their debut. Like 2NE1's Bom which was supposed to debut as an R&B artist. Yes, Bom was that good as check out Baby Boy. Which was a collaboration on Lexy's Rush album. Well Lexy also appeared with one of YG's producers a former artist himself Teddy Park in a video together. Well rumors started over their relationship & hense the dating curse ban begin. It's a stupid retarded policy. Which nearly ruined Hyuna & Dawn's career & may BlackPink's as well. K-Artists need more freedom from their slave labels here!!

Well it’s kind of not true… some YG artists do attend awards show, but not as often as they did before. As many of the comments said, most of these shows like MAMA and other awards require FANDOM VOTES. So naturally if a group/artist has a bigger fandom no matter if the quality music is good or bad.. that group/artist has a better chance of winning. There’s also been tons of scandals/controversies of some companies buying votes for award shows or even music charts too. So there is some rigging going on the past couple of years. A lot of artists/groups either don’t show up or they do show up and perform..then leave during the award show. But I need to make it clear that not all award shows are rigged. There is award shows that actually track and follow music charts as well as the popularity/appeal of the songs/artists included in all nominations. They don’t do fan votes, but even then there’s still a chance of companies rigging or buying votes for their artists to win. We may never know what company or which artists, but it does happen.😆
