ASE is a great way to show that you meet the standard in knowledge. It has helped me over the years to advance in my job. . I had my master heavy truck and master auto certification. I recently received my 25 year ASE wall magnet. Keep up the great job Ken.
I’ve had my Master Auto Certification for a little over 18 years now. I had no idea they send you a 25 year wall magnet. I guess I will have to wait about 7 more years to get one.
Wow awesome credentials! I'm 53 yrs old, just got my ASE Master 2 years ago. I always wanted to get Certified. Been in the field almost all my life. I found Jesus, got sober, got certified, married a good #Christian woman, now I'm living the dream! #God is good! If I can do it, anyone who puts in the time can do it too. Thanks. I’m 47 now. I became a MasterTech at 28 years old. And got everything else when I was 29yo. I took the L2 in March. I was suppose to take the L3 a week later but they closed the test centers.
@@1970chevelle396 I want to take the L tests, but my plan is to Master the T series first. You must be really smart. I Kno I have to really go over material myself to get it into my brain. I may have pickeled it, lol I dunno. Sorry about you not getting to take the L3 right now but there is no doubt in my mind you will get as soon as they start testing again. Hey have you heard about the ASE renew app? I just started using it. I'm kinda diggin it. Don't have to go bk to testing center to recertify
Best thing you can do for the L series tests is not to take more than one of them in a day. The L1R test I got 2 hours and 15 minutes. It took me an hour and 45 minutes to take that test. I didn’t study for the 12 recertifications tests I took. I only studied for the 2 new ones I’m taking. I never did that APP
Most of these shops don’t want to pay much. 12 years ago I applied for a job at a Chevrolet Dealership. The shop labor rate at that time was $105 an hour. I was expecting like $35 an hour. The service manager tells me $12.50 an hour. I was so mad . Funny how these shops think they can get away with that.
People balked at me in my 20s for being ASE certified. The difference is I can walk into a local shop and get 30%, $30 per flat hour l, while my non certified friend gets $20 per hour.
I worked for a shop for years making little money. As soon as I got all my licenses and ASE’s my pay doubled. So it’s definitely worth getting. The government jobs as a mechanic have the best pay and they only hire people that are ASE certified. I don’t even need them anymore, but I still keep everything up to date.
Hello, I am studying the English language to get this Certificate. Here in Brazil we don´t have ASE, I will have to take the tests in the USA. It will be great to be ASE certified mechanic here in my country. i will acompany your publications.
I found those on Ebay they were shipped to me from Croatia. The new ASE patches say Automobile instead of Automotive. I bought those more than 15 years ago.
Having paperwork to backup your claim that your a mechanic is impressive to shop owners. I passed two ASE tests back in the 80's just for something to do. I haven't done anything with them since but I still have my patch. Fake mechanics like Scotty? (ha ha) I think the "RU-vid" certified patch is funny too.
I forgot all about “Scotty the clickbait King”. He’s another fake mechanic. The big thing here in California is a Smog License. As far as I know I’m the only RU-vidr with one. Seems like everyone else is to lazy to get one.
Great informative video! I just made ASE Master this Saturday, I took my final test. However, I am shooting to achieve the A9 certification. I really need help on that exam, it's very hard. I've taken it twice and failed them both times! Would you have any useful resources to help pass the exam?
The L1 is suppose to be the hardest test and I passed that one the first time I took it back in 2002. But I Failed the A9 when I first took that one. I took it when they first came out with that test. They do make a study guide. A lot of people think you just read a book and take a test . Which is not true. You still need good experience in each area to pass them. I took the L3 I read the study guide a few times and still couldn’t pass it because I don’t have good experience with Hybrid vehicles.
@@1970chevelle396 thank you for the reply but i have seen two types of master certified patches on technicians both are gold but some say master certified automobile technician and others say master certified auto technicians what is difference in the auto and automobile is it same ?
