Although no style is really better than another, it all boils down to how serious a practicioner is in his art. Really glad to see people loving Karate and using it to unite with other people. Keep it up!!
Translation from Spanish part of the video: He started practicing Karate 44 years ago he started from the curiosity of what he saw in the movies and after long years of practice he understood the real meaning of the "art of defense" karate is much more than that *Repying to the question of the Interviewer* Traditional Karate from Okinawa is much more that the Sports Karate, Okinawan character is about the man that practices the art, is for personal growth and to Strength yourself in a Physical Mental and Spiritual way
Well done and said karate black belt ladies, we have double more adult women at my dojo then men, us girls take up karate for more of the right reasons then men,....❤️🥋...
I disagree with Russian Sensei. All karate styles are for a real fighting situation, but as the creator of Kyokushin said before his death: "Kata and Kihon practice should not be neglected." My Shotokan sensei says: Kata is the root. The Kihon is the trunk. The Kote Kitae ) is the Fiber. And the Kumite is the fruits. In a competition rules, in the street we can use Empi / Hiji (elbows), Kin Geri (kicks in the genitals), Nukite (blows with fingers) in the eyes.
I don’t know why the Russian sensei make a difference between karate and kyokushin. All it’s karate, kyokushin-Ryu, Shotokan-ryu, Goju-ryu, etc, all are karate. And what your sensei says, Karina Regis, it’s true for all styles, for all karateca learning the art. Ossu!
Nukite in the eyes? In the utter chaos of real violence, with the fear and adrenaline that comes when someone is genuinely trying to harm you, with both yourself and your attacker moving fast, with the knowledge that any second now they might land a devastating blow if you make even the slightest mistake, with all of this, you can precisely strike your opponents eyes with your finger tips? Awesome.
I like how they move the upper body with the hips as the driving force. My sensei also keeps yelling at us to always use the hips all the time, not the shoulders
4:21 What is the name of the piece of electronic music starting when the Polish gal is interviewed? I tried looking for it in OneSoul Nobody's channel, but could not find it there.
I'm half japanese living in the Philippines. I love karate since I was 9yo. For some reasons, I started to traib karate wayback jan 2019. Due to work schedule I only train every sunday and sometimes I cant because there are no dayoff sometimes in the factory I worked on. After a months I went to another city to find another work but the work schedule I got are not really fit to karate training. Now its already 2020 but i'm still a white belt. Plus, I really hate my dojo. The said its traditional shorin ryu but the teachings is more on sport kumite. What I want is a real TRADITIONAL where you train like a samurai soldier. Where you hit makiwara, no gloves, brutal training ect. How I wish that my long time father who hides for so mamy years show up to me and help me go to japan to have a descent work and so I have the opportunity to train in a real traditional karate dojo.
So to me as a MMA practicioner its not a form of self defense because ur not even taking any real scenarios to practice with u are just training your form and stamina
