In November of 1989, Israel’s Cabinet Secretary Elyakim Rubinstein explains how difficult it is to hold out against the pressures by US Secretary of State James Baker.
In a notable departure from his patient disposition, the Rebbe repeatedly interjects, trying to school the Israeli diplomat on the way to earn Americans' respect.
Sadly, despite Shamir's hawkish reputation, the process in which Secretary Rubinstein and Prime Minister Shamir engaged led to autonomy in Gaza and the West Bank -- and eventually to 10/7.
When Americans exert pressure, they are testing how important an issue is; how integral is it to your survival?

I got to hear Shamir speak in 1987 at the aipac conference in DC. The US slapped the Madrid talks upon Israel's Head which was the start of getting Arafat back out of exile from Tunisia. Who knows what it's like behind closed doors being in Israeli politician in the US being told what to do. The world was losing their mind over how Shamir reacted to the first intifada back then. Soon after k a h a n e was elected because the Israelis were frustrated with the non victory lifestyle they were living. The Israeli left is unfathomable until you encounter it. They banned his party and him from the knesset. The US co-opted the military industry of Israel after 67 and here we are. Can't think of a single populist/nationalist Israeli prime Minister in history. The left ruins everything that the Arabs don't and given the chance they will work together to ruin things further.

One of 613 mitzvahs include giving charity which is called tzedka in Hebrew, the rebbe gave out a dollar to everyone he met

BS"D, the dollar is to be given by the receiver to charity. the principle is also explained: every meeting between two people should benefit a third.

If only the Rebbe’s words were heard and heeded to, Israel May have been in a very different position today. May they be spoken by the present day rabbis and heard around the world.
