Northern Ontario Canoe Route/Trip--Tatachikapika River Fire 2012
The Rebirth of the Tatachikapika River
Artistic / Reality Documentary: 18:28 min
Videography & Narration: Daniel Kirouac
The Precambrian shield is the oldest geological formation on the planet, and within its beautiful tapestry lies the Tatachikapika river system that was devastated by one of Canada's largest forest fires in 2012. One year later, adventurer and explorer Dan Kirouac, embarked on an epic journey by canoe down this pristine waterway to capture the miraculous rebirth of this biological wonder. The only documentary of its kind that unveils Mother's Nature's artistic hand at work!

Did this river back in early '80's and spent a great week on the water. Good fishing and wildlife viewing and will never forget the hue of the water. Thanks for posting this...brings back some fine memories.

You rock Dan! Suck a great adventure. You run some of the toughest water...some of your trips are quite extreme. Nice trout too! Have you got any other trips planned?

Man that's a nice Brookie, When you said the bass would eat all the specks I thought you were after 12" trout, that trout was wide.

The bass eat the young and eventually wipe out the brookies.

Great video thanks. We are looking to do this trip this spring. Are the portages still well marked? What changes below the 144 on the river?
