The future of the MCU is incredible. Marvel Studios has laid the groundwork for Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars with Robert Downey Jr returning to play Doctor Doom. However, Marvel Studios also has the next 10 plus years planned for the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, New Avengers teams and more. With the MCU said to have a soft reboot after Avengers Secret Wars, Marvel has a lot of many incredible characters they can use and stories they can tell.

The Xmen started out, in the comics, as a team. Teenagers gathered together by Professor Xavier, into his first class of mutants. Thats how it should be. Not individual costumed mutants brought together, but a class assembled.

That’s very true but all or most of their origin stories have been fleshed out a great deal. You must get to the know the characters first to see where they go and how they end up with Xavier and how it goes from there.

The X-Men had their biggest readership with the launch of X-Men #1 in the 90s and new readers went straight in to seeing Cyclops, Psylocke, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Beast, and Jubilee as a team right from the start. Nobody needed to get to know Cyclops fell from a plane and had a head injury that affected his control of his powers to get straight into X-Men. Heck, I'd argue that Danger Room sequence from X-Men #1 makes a perfect opening sequence for a film (complete with *Snikt* "Bang, Chuck. You're dead."). The X-Men animated series didn't need to methodically give each X-Man solo episodes before we had a team episode. These stories would also be terribly boring since most of the students are recruited by Xavier shortly after their powers first presented. It could easily be handled through brief dialogue or a flashback where necessary. Rather than needing 5 solo films just to get the first team of X-Men and then a decade of solo films before we ever get an extended team, they could easily take a page from the height of the most popular era of X-Men in the title's entire history and just dive in with dual titles of X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, featuring Blue Team & Gold Team.

@@SinBad-op2ih I don't think it's about the actor, but more so about the character himself. Gambit is one of the classic characters, and you can't mention the X-Men without acknowledging his part. But giving him his own movie is the equivalent of making a Beast or Jubilee solo movie. Hell, look what happened with Elektra 😂.

Wolverines first appearance was fighting Hulk and Wendigo and that was long before he joined X-men. Same thing with Gambit; he grew up in the Thieves Guild and was well into his 20s before he joined. Only the first team and a handful of characters before Cassandra Nova let the world know that the X-men were based in Xaviers mansion, were actually still teenagers and started out their hero career in the X-men team.

I think after Secret Wars, they will focus more on the X-men and F4. The Avengers will still be part of the new soft reboot, but will focus on Mutants and F4 a lot more. Also think that when they introduce the X-men in the main universe, they will focus more on X-men characters that didn’t got the attention on the Fox X-men Universe.

Yes! We all love the Avengers, but I definitely want this soft reboot to focus more on the X-Men and F4. We'll still get the Avengers characters as you stated, but retelling new stories with the characters we've had up to this point seems a bit too soon. Especially with Iron Man, original Black Widow, and a Steve Rodgers Cap.

@@ResidentEvilWolf0924agreed as well, I feel like Shang-Chi never got enough acknowledgement and respect he deserves and people don't realize how much of a hidden gem he is and one of the only few only leading original leading asian male superhero marvel character that marvel has....they don't have enough to utilize in mcu as much as Shang-Chi is, outside of him, they don't have any, jimmy woo has be reduced more as a side/support character and some of the others are either tokenized versions of already established white characters, or are unknowns, or are female characters. So I really think marvel should invest more on that character and give him the same spotlight as the other heroes, iron man, spider-man, thor, doctor strange, hulk, Hawkeye, ant man, wasp, captain America, captain marvel, black widow, black panther, falcon, Daredevil, luke cage, iron fist, jessica jones, punisher, loki, guardian's of the galaxy, blade, deadpool, wolverine, X-men, F4, etc.

Yes! For as many missteps as phase 4 has had, they've also made some great choices and introductions, especially with Moon Knight and Shang Chi. Both Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop as Hawkeye are awesome, and Monica Rambeau needs to be better developed as her own character because she's actually quite loved in the comics and the actress is solid.

I like the idea of keeping certain actors, especially for The FANTASTIC FOUR! I feel it's 1000% weird to bring those actors in for a movie or two then ditch the whole team altogether. Might as well either keep them or shift the new universe to being theirs with Mutants and Mutates existing there.

I want to see Origin movies for Wolverine, Gambit, Storm, Cyclops, Jean Gray,/Madeline Pryer Professor X/Magneto, Nightcrawler. Then have an X-Men film to unite all these characters. Professor X should be the Nick Fury of the X-Men. Hopefully by 2030 Sony gives the rights to Spider-Man back.

I think it's more like there are currently 2 Logans at the same time. In the beginning of the movie, he went to the future where Logan takes place. At the end he goes back to the present day.

What I think the future of the MCU should be is that we do get the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Inhuman, Alpha Flight, and Midnight Sons after Avengers: Secret Wars in one main universe. And there definitely had to be a part 2 of Secret Wars. And who I think should be replaced from the MCU forever should be Agatha Harkness, Wiccan, Speed, Valkyrie, Okoye, and some others. Love the MCU!!!

I really hope they don’t “start over” by calling the next part Phase 1. Just call it Phase 7, 8, etc. it’s still technically all part of the same story. Going back to “Phase 1” kind of feels like taking what came before and throwing it in the trash

@@BigReek99 What I'm saying is there are plenty of great and unused villains that can be used in a film who are good characters. Onslaught is a great way to turn off the entire world to the alleged "Mutant Saga". You would need years and years of build up between Xavier and Magneto before you even got to that point, and honestly, anyone who lived through the 90s isn't in a rush to see that story adapted. If we want an X-Men villain that hasn't been used as the focus of the next storyline, how about Mr. Sinister? The Fox films only eluded to him, and he's consistently intriguing (especially when he's been written by folks like Kieron Gillen or Jonathan Hickman).

The only problem with building up a team up movie with the X Men is that they are all students or teachers at Xavier’s school. Part of their story is that Charles teaches them how to control and master their powers. I don’t know if solo movies really work with that team. I think that a team like Midnight Sons would work better with solo films or shows then team up like an Avengers movie

I think there will be a Secret Wars 1,2,3 - a trilogy. They need to up Infinity War and End Game. Makes sense. Also with SW being so huge and so many characters it makes sense. Then they can focus more on certain characters in certain movies and film them all at once to pay people less. That’s why there are three mystery movies after SW1

Ever since it was first mentioned that there might/would be a reboot of some kind (way back during Loki and No Way Home were released), I've been saying that it's a good way to allow whichever actors are done with the roles to leave, as well as having new characters... and variants... join the MCU. It'll be great for the MCU to have a (mostly) cleaned slate, and fantastic for the fans given that Marvel Studios finally has access to ALL the IPs.

Not gonna buy into the hype until there's a satisfactory explanation on how they got rid of all variants of Kang from starting another multiversal war. Sure they told us that the new TVA has already taken care of them but surely some of them are just too clever/strong/tricky to deal with. For me, all these Kang into Doom thing are just too messy. The return of RDJ and the Russo Bros is promising BUT it can also bomb very hard if the writing is not adequate. Early/soft reboot is not gonna sit well with general audience IMHO. Sure, everything will be merged into one universe but isn't the law of quantum physics still apply to it ??? Isn't that one universe is just gonna branch into multiverse ??? There's so many questions left unanswered and if there's no satisfactory explanation, it could go very bad IMO.

Where is all this talk of secret wars part 2 coming from? I think doomsday would have a good amount to setup for it's story and the in-between movies... After May 2027... Thats it for all we know. Now setting up films only 4 months after, that is room for speculation. Would it really already be the new era MCU?

They will definitely focus on the x-men characters. I'm sure most of them will get their own movie. Wolverine will definitely be one of them and I'm sure Gambit as well. And I'm sure most of the x-men character will have their own disney plus series. Maybe Jubilee will get her own disney plus series.

If they really wanted to prolong the life of the MCU they should start heading towards King in Black once everything is established. It involves essentially everyone and gives Venom one of his best stories. It’s pretty easy to do as well. After Venom 3, the symbiote can end up on Deadpool, driving it insane, before Spiderman gets it during Secret Wars

Honestly in my opinion Doomsday is the Part 1 of the secret wars, that has actually been announced at comic con by the Russo brothers saying they were directing 2 Movies and that Avengers Doomsday is setting up secret wars.

Rebooting the MCU ruins the experience for me. Key figures like Iron Man, Steve Rogers, and Thor became popular through great movies, but no bigger audience knew who they were before the films. Similarly, new characters can be introduced. Don't dwell on the past; there are many interesting Marvel characters. It's all about making good films out of them.

I don’t think there should be a reboot. Ever since secret wars everyone was saying it’s gonna be a soft reboot for the mcu. This isn’t like the dcu, there’s no need to to have a full reboot. It’s not even a soft reboot. The multiverse is resolved and everyone lives in one universe: avengers, X-men, f4. No need to recast characters who have already appeared in the mcu. No new Tony stark Ironman, no new Steve rogers cap.
