The video shows the recognition of North Korea since 1948 when it first declared independence. Twitter: / wawamustats Facebook: wawamustats Subscribe here: ru-vid.com?s...
For a channel that usually does these so well, how did you forget that before 1991, all 15 republics of the former Soviet Union was one country, so if they USSR recognised North Korea, then all of them should have been coloured.
I guess it would be confusing to have them change color to blue after independence and then again to red afterwards. Also since they weren't independent, they also couldn't recognise N Korea. But I do agree it would make more sense to color them red as long as they were part of USSR/Sudan
@@nithincristano8572 But they were still part of the USSR as a single country. The Soviet Union strategically created Ukraine and Belarus as UN seats because the West had a greater number of small countries, so under one country one vote rule, this disadvantaged the Eastern bloc. Later on, it didn't matter, because as the rest of the world decolonised, the newly independent nations in the developing world usually voted the same way as the socialist bloc.
Fun fact : South Korea called countries to recognize North Korea to advance in the peace process, but South Korea itself doesn't recognize North Korea.
I know the U.S. has never wanted to lose face, but in the face of recognition of North Korea by the vast majority of the world's nations, the U.S. has become the isolated party
Not that I support the depraved North Korean regime in the slightest, but let's not forget that during the Korean war USA carpet bombed North Korea destroyed an estimated 85% of North Korean buildings (and this is a US airforce estimate not north korean you can check the source on wikipedia).
I've seen the North Korean embassy in Ulanbataar Mongolia - it was a pretty large compound with 2 or 3 buildings. Outside the building were displayed pictures of dictator kim jong un meeting with trump. I could see from outside that one of the buildings even had a korean propaganda banner hanged on it. Also I witnessed a black benz or mercidez with shaded windows a North Korean flag on the bonnet. Prolly was the ambassador coming out.
France is doing the right thing North Korea is the worst government the 21st century has ever seen. It should be connected to South Korea as soon as possible. I wish my country (Turkey) didn't recognize too
North Korea does have pretty strong relations with many ex communist countries. The regime used to send workers to these countries to operate North Korean restaurants before the UN banned it.
Sorry to say but the informative value of this map is dubious. The 1950s, and we've got a united Germany, divided Balkans and Czechoslovakia, independent Ukraine, the Baltic States, Kazakhstan, and the entirety of Africa.
Why you show Russia alone as a state that recognizes North Korea while the other soviet countries do not? They were untied. Your video is wrong cause you used a modern map for 1950s, thus Yugoslavia and Ussr are not shown in the map.
@@Yusuketh443 what do you mean, russia, ukraine, baltics, central asia, caucasus countries and moldova were part of the ussr they should have been highlighted for recognising north korea
I think he considers that a modern country only recognized North Korea when it became independent and its government recognized the country Look at South Sudan ... It didn't recognize North Korea until it became Independent, despite being part of a country that already recognized it
The former USSR countries (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc) should have appeared in red with Russia, since they were all part of the Soviet Union which recognised North Korea.
Accepting North Korea means that you're accepting 38th Parallel line as permanent border. Korean peninsula reunification will never be possible after this.
@@R_.709 if you'll have a chance to give power to either of the Koreas to control the whole peninsula. Whom you're going to give the power? A nuclear maniac rogue state or a democratic economic powerhouse republic. It's kinda west and east Germany case.
@@adityajha4648 Then the same applies to 'pakistan' and India in this case. 'pakistan' in the place of North Korea and India in the place of South Korea.
Actually Malaysia and North Korea cut ties in 2021 I think.. I'm not sure of the year but it's was recently.. but I'm mighty sure we don't have ties anymore
Fun fact : How Argentina was one the first latin american country to recognize NK in early 73 and when most of Asia Africa recognized NK in 77, Arg was the first latin american country to cut off ties with NK 😁
Which is ironic since, saudi arabia is also a very totalitarian country. All the governors of its 13 provinces are from the ruling Saud family. Also saudi arabia still punishes apostates from pislam with a death penalty.
USA, Honduras, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, France, Estonia, Saudi Arabia, Bhutan, Japan, Solomon Islands? And a bunch of other tiny nations.
North Korea has nuclear weapons while most of the countries don’t, this makes the world focus on them. US don’t recognize N.Korea since they were defeated in the Korean War, so this is US’s diplomatic weapon to isolate N.Korea.
The Korean War was a stalemate and still hasn’t technically ended 🤨. If anything America did achieve its goal in protecting South Korea so it was more of a partial victory, unifying Korea wasn’t really even the main goal but it would have been a nice outcome.
USA didn't lose. North Korea didn't lose either. Nobody lost, nobody won. Technically, though, as another reply said, the USA did win because it achieved it's goal of protecting South Korea
Dude before launching some video on yt please became familiar with some sort of history, cause from 50th to 90th it shows that Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Belarus did't recognize NK, but while Russia did(... And if Russia recognized thn all that mentioned countries had to recognize it causes they were kinda one state called USSR
Recognizing a country’s existence is completely ok no matter if they have evil regimes. For example most of NATO and the EU recognize North Korea. That doesn’t mean they agree/ support North Korea’s government. Hell they despise North Korea, it’s considered to be one of the biggest human rights crisis’ since the 2nd world war.
When I was in elementary school in 2001.A S.Korean encouraged me with words as "One Korea, one China!" in the online chat room.I didn't find it weird until years later.
Unlike other divided countries, South Korea and North Korea can unify at any time because they are the same country and have a strong perception that they are the same people. If only Kim Jong-un changes his mind, it could happen as soon as tomorrow.
A small correction, Argentina recognized north korea first instead of south korea and this was due to the fact north korea was a normal country with good economy (before getting isolated by the u.s) while south korea was pretty poor and full of starving people at that time this is why most south american countries recognized north korea first but after the coups and dictatorships the u.s sent here these countries were forced to recognize south korea.
Nothing to gain from recognizing them and might hurt Saudi's relations No real reason to recognize them Also NK is a major factor on Iran's nuclear Missile program And they support Houthis against the government of Yemen.
Huhhh, I didn’t that N Korea is not recognized by so many major countries. How do you deal with DPRK diplomatically without even recognizing them first…? 😓 diplomacy was never an option???
Well realistically, if you REALLY have to talk to DPRK and you don't have diplomatic relations, you go through Russia and China. Which used to be not hard for the US or France to do --- they're all sitting at the UN permanent security council panel, plenty of opportunities to talk. Well, currently that option isn't really open for the US due to you know, it is in a feud with both Russia AND China. But France can still ask. Japan is an entirely different story, due to WWII aftermath, Japan can barely get along with S Korea nevermind N Korea. As for the smaller countries, they don't really need to talk directly to N Korea, nor does N Korea have a direct interest in them.
That's what happens when you genocide someone, kill 20% of their population, use chemical weapons, destroy 80% of infrastructure and almost wipe them out from the face of the earth. I'm glad they have nuclear weapons, and that you failed badly and completely lost in Vietnam after you did the same thing, but couldn't create another south puppet.
Only 12 countries doesn't recognize PRNC: USA, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guyana, Dominican Republic, Haiti, France, Saudi Arabia, Japan.
@@pineapplesareyummy6352 The best period of Korea 1910-1945. Unironically this is when they saw the most economic, technological, and educational growth, as well as biggest population growth in all of its history. Sounds like the complete opposite of a genocide to me.
im a Greek and let me be clear. even as i see here in the video that we recognize north Korea, we ONLY HAVE south Korean embassy in Athens plus we don't have ties with North Korea. Greece actually recognize only SOUTH KOREA 🇬🇷
