The Beastie Boys played a huge part in all of our upbringings, so when we learned the news of Adam Yauch's (MCA) passing on May 4, 2012, we decided to pay tribute right then and there, and try out a bluesy cover of "So What'cha Want". We performed it live on "Jam In The Van", and it drew a wonderful response, and quickly became an often requested song at our shows. This unreleased version was made years ago, recorded in the living room (like all the music on the Rarities release), but has never been heard until now. We made this video with an iPhone, very quickly, amateur style, but it seems to retain the spirit of it all. Check Your Head!

This is seriously one of the best covers I have ever heard. I hate when a band just replicates a song and does nothing to make it their own. This is amazing. Also it's crazy how well the Beasties could write a song that fits so well in a completely different genre.

Yes. I was listening to the radio this came on I was like holy shit. Finally a cover of this classic. Turned it up and the dj started doing his stupid P.S.A over it. WTF. Got back to the woodshop immediately looked online found it. Here we are. Stoked.

Got my woodshop wired man. My neighbors get to listen to this. I actually asked them if it was cool to you know turn it up a bit. They just said we do it too. Which they do. Rock on me I am lucky to have such awesome neighbors who are so laid back.

So, this is how the IA Hendrix version was made. I thought it was this way, but didn't found evidence. I can sleep peacefully now ☺️. Great version 👍🏼👍👍🏼.
