The parallels that Martyn and Grian were both tied to a Red name out of their own kind of love/loyalty. Also love the detail that the deaths in 3rd life weren't just a die and respawn. They just...came back and mended themselves. The image of Ren putting his head back on is so powerful

this is absolutely fantastic, i love the shade of red you picked, its so vibrant and like... Violent? its perfect aghhhh. Your style is so nice as well, amd your designs fit them both so well. Lovee the comtrast between ren being all smiles at the start and then the next shit is his severed head?? its soooo visceral. the desert duo ending as well is perfection, the song suits both pairs so well. I love the idea that martyn was with ren at the end and when g&s just approach him he just gives himself up. they make me want to cryyyyy

AHHHH the parallels with desert duo are so stunning. The first watch of this left me speechless so I’d like to point out my favorite moments. The very first moment when Martyn looks at Ren at 0:03 made me gasp because of how smooth the animation is. I had a very similar reaction at 0:05 at Ren’s laugh. The way his head twists down like he’s ducking away from the attention is such a human action and response that I’m just floored by how you managed to convey it so simply. The animation of Ren putting his head back on at 0:13 blew me away. I’ve never before seen someone portray the scene like that and it STUNNED ME. The moments beforehand being still shots from between his legs looking at Martyn with the blood flowing down, hiding it from the audience until this moment is so brilliant. His eyes being red and blending into the blood on his face is just GENIUS. The horror on Martyn’s face at 0:15 is so well illustrated and I adore that in choosing to have red be the only color you allow it to pop vibrantly with that gray background. I really appreciate how you use the smooth animation which you’ve clearly put a lot of work into sparingly, as there’s at least three still shots between each one and it makes them feel much more impactful for their sparing use. The animation of the flag flying, closing in on Ren’s face, then doing a close-up on Martyn’s works so well to show their bond!! The transition to Ren’s death is done so cleanly and the animation at 0:30 having Martyn move down at Grian rises into frame is PERFECTION. It draws attention to Grian and scar in such a seamless way I adore it. 0:39 is my favorite moment from this whole animatic as it’s a close-up on Scar looking at Grian with this self-satisfied look of a victor, mirroring Ren’s expression at 0:23. They’re both compelled by a thirst for victory, but Scar is the only one of them who won-and he knows it. My favorite bit of animation is at 0:42 with the transition of Grian rising up like the angels his wings are reminiscent of and then diving low to shatter Scar’s heart. The way the two duos are compared with Scar’s final sight being of Grian and Martyn’s of Ren being shown side-by-side… oh it’s the perfect send off. What a beautiful animation.

This song, not only for double life, but also used for different life series because it has a lot of meanings with the color red is so meaningful during the series. Use for last life with the whole Joel thing going on. For what happens in limited life with all the bogeyman red names. For the secret life, actually finale thinking about it hard enough. This is a great interpretation of this song and I hope it’s used more for this fandom

This is so awesome! Really shows the loyal and friendly, yet tragic dynamic of these two. I love how you draw Grian and Scar so cruel and full of heartlessness and cynicism, as that's exactly what they were from Ren and Martyn's point of view. Whilst they were for sure the villains of this story, causing a lot of unneseccary bloodshed and destruction, they indeed were sympathetic and had reasoning for their actions, they weren't iredeemable antagonists even if they frequently appeared that way and I love how the community does frequently give this fact justice. And hey, not like the other side was all that morally correct anyways. Once again, I will re-iterate my point that everybody in the Life Series is the villain, it's just a matter of perspective, and that's why it is so phenomenal.

I *live* for him smearing his blood across Martyn’s face, the absolute horror and “holy shit what have I done” look on Martyn’s face is just so so so delicious ✨✨ and then Martyn closes his eyes as he not just accepts that he’s doomed the server (as if it wasn’t already doomed) but he also closes his eyes to the atrocities he and Ren can commit now that Ren is red?? Also the parallels with desert duo is just done so unbelievably well, I seriously don’t know how the entire life series isn’t scripted AT ALL.
