I don't care what people say, Sasha is one of the most polished, well-rounded queens I've ever seen. She's fantastic and I will love and adore her always.
The difference is that Sasha is great in other departments than looks. Violet was safe or low in almost every challenge except for look challenges, so she had to bring that to the final. Sasha was in the top 2 or won in more challenges than she was safe (7 out of 12 challenges, not including her win in the final challenge: the lip sync showdown, which was arguably the hardest together with Snatch Game and the roast). Also, to me, Sasha already beat Violet's look with her pearl studded velvet gown from Drag Con, and her white look for the final lip sync challenge. But that's a question of taste.
My son, who happens to be on the autism spectrum, loves Sasha! She makes being weird and unconventional beautiful and fun. She's a champion for LGBT people, but also for anyone who is different and doesn't fit into society's idea of normal.
dylan walsh I'm not sure why you needed to say something negative. I don't want or need pity. My child is different and wonderfully weird, not pitiful. I suspect that your comment has a lot to do with your own insecurities. I really hope that you get the help that you need because no one needs to live with so much hate and bitterness.
dylan walsh Our disabilities are talked about because we are not ashamed of who we are. I don't really care if you think I am a bad mother, but what does any of this have to do with the video, my comment, drag queens, autism or the disability community in general? Again, I think you are trying to project your hateful feelings on me and you should get some help so you can love yourself instead tearing others down. If you insist on being nasty then I will just delete your comments. There is no need to spread your hate.
Bianca J. Agreed! I think people wanted Valentina to win because she’s a natural. She just started drag less than a year before she got on the show and she ACED everything she met. I think that if Sasha wasn’t in the same season, I’d be rooting for Valentina (if not Shea....I loved Shea).
Nothing against Valentina, I mean that girl is a natural, but she and Sasha can't be compared. Honestly, it's hard for me to find *anyone* who can compare to Sasha.
I mean, there's no need to compare them. They both really different kinds of drag. Valentina is latina, and she shows to the world the beauty of her culture, as well as giving latino people a lgtbq+ referent. Most of latin american countries are Catholic, and is good that future generations have people like Valentina showing that the queer comunity is not the devil, that they are people, human beings, with the same roots, the same family and the same way of loving. I think Sasha is amazing, and she is my favourite drag, she is incredibly educated, gentle and caring, but Valentina could have also improved the drag comunity, just in a different aspect.
Completely agree. Sasha is fashionable, polite, intelligent and feirce. Her artistic flare is incomparable to the other winners... Well except for Violet
FKANAL if she is down to earth hun please let me join the spot of 🌎 u occupy. Lol. I love watching her live performances however I've never known a more snooty "art" queen. Between constantly dropping Vasser in every interview to the trips around the world before becoming famous, constantly shoving pretentious art commentary as if she invented drag and everything about it. Again I love watching her but down to earth....nah. Lol I wanna see her being humble or even make a mistake. That's actually endearing. But I'll take personality and funny over polished and "art" every time.
i don't see it that way; i think she keeps talking about art and her vision on it because it's her passion, and there's nothing wrong with that. i don't feel that "better than you" attitude from her. sorry if you do feel that.
FKANAL She reminds me of 1 of the Art history/Fine Arts students at SAIC, I knew.,years ago, when I used to werq there....Her excitement & love of the Art is contagious...😸✌
I absolutely ADORE her. I had the honor of being able to meet her at the first war on the catwalk show, and she was SO wholesome, genuine and humble. She took my hands & I told her THANK YOU for being you, for giving us “weird” and “quirky” kids the inspiration and confidence to be ourselves(meanwhile im practically dry heaving through tears while she holds my hands) and she said “thank you for being YOU, you’re my inspiration, damnit now I’m going to cry!”. Sasha is such a breath of fresh air because she is such a beautiful artist, her performances are so thought out & it’s really a sight to behold. If you ever get the chance, see her live! I have a very strong feeling that she is going to be around for a long long time
I love her personal style. Its so different from many of the other queens. Literally she styles herself as if she is a QUEEN of some time period or even a futuristic queen at times (Final lip-sync look). I dig it.
By Far because the lens is so soft that all the imperfections disappear but in real life (or in some instagram pictures) you can see how harsh her hair line is
Sasha Velour is my favourite Drag Race winner (together with Bianca Del Rio). She's so inspiring, talented, an unconventional beauty who knows what Art is and spreads her knowledge with passion, elegance and pureness. She's lovable and gifted.
Jinkx as Betty Davis on the BOTS: Bianca Del Rio is sooooooooooooo funny, even her audience makes me laugh. Because they already know. All. Of. Her. Jokes. That burn was so funny. And then she almost fell off her chair.
I found you so serious on the show but also so awake about mental health and all of the issues plaguing society and now you look so joyous and using this platform and title to continue bringing us all forward. This is your legacy keep walking the path that is Do what is right verses what is easy. So proud of you Sasha.
She is literally everything. This video further proves why she is deserved to win and why she is one of or maybe the best winner period because of what she has done with her reign.
Every time Sasha mentions her mom, it makes me emotional. I lost my mom to cancer (melanoma) in 2015, and it still feels like yesterday. She and I were very close, so I very much relate to what Sasha has gone through. We were so blessed to have such wonderful women in our lives.
I'm glad Sasha won even though Peppermint was my favorite. I think that from the very beginning, a lot (not all, but maybe) of the other queens had the unspoken thought that Sasha would just go away quickly because of her quirky ways and different looks. She stuck to who she was, but showed growth through the whole season.
She inspires me. She is always kind. Always humble. Always eloquent. Always beautifully fluid in her movements. Her mind is fluid, too, and she is incredibly creative. She kept moving forward even when the fear was screaming in her ears. Seeing people like her reminds me that I can, too.
I just finished watching season 9 and I'm just amazed by her style and theatricality. The amount of talent she has and the way she speaks, so articulated, smart and yet humble. She blew my mind in the finally and now I'm obsessed!
There are so many queens of such grace, poise, tenacity, soul....but this one, she's different. An inner, quiet sweetness that despite of having been loved, hurt and still healing, has managed to channel it all into Sasha Velour. Her emotional intelligence and success are one an the same, very high.
Ya know I had never watched RuPaul's, I heard a lot about the show and that it was amazing, but never actually watched it. One friend of mine said: You should watch it, season 9 it's amazing! So I did. At first I was like: Kay but why would I keep going tho? Then Saha walks in and I thought: Well that's why. Thanks for being so amazing and inspiring Sasha! Love you!
Danny Flanagan I’m wondering why you’re even here? Deep down in the comments under a positive video about drag. How did you get here? You love this shit.
sashas literally my favourite drag race girl i aspire to have even a smidge of the creativity she has! ms velour is a huge inspiration to me and one of the many reasons season 9 is my personal fav!! ❤️
I honestly don't think I've ever loved a queen as much as i love Sasha. She is a true icon and a beautiful queen who from day one I've loved and adored for her fun, colorful, and artistic form of elegance and grace unmatched by many. She is a queen, she is an icon, and may she reach all her goals and much much more.
She speaks with purpose and heart. Something very special about this beautiful spirit! I would love to meet her and share a moment, coffee and pick her brain
I love that you can literally see her thinking about her words before she says them. Everything she says is eloquent and meaningful and she's doing incredible things 3 years later !
OMG! Sasha is an incredible performer and unique queen of all times, always exuding glamour, fashion and class... I really enjoyed that season just for the fact that Sasha was there giving us hope to be ourselves... 👏
Sasha has probably the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. I used to notice it a lot during the show but in this video they just shine through so wonderfully.
I love Sasha for so many reasons. She can serve looks, she doesn't get involved in drama like most queens, she relies on brains, she's beautiful. She's not here for the money, fame or notoriety. She truly does want to change the world. She's an inspiration to not just LGBTQ+ but to mankind. This video moved me.
Sorry to hear about your mom 🌹. Be yourself. The differences among all of you makes each of you unique and one of a kind.. with your mother’s’ passing, remember that. She’ll always be with you because you are a part of her. You can share memories with your other relatives.
I knew from the very first moment she walked into the work room that she was the winner. I even mentioned it when she walked in reaming, I said, she's gonna win! And she did and I cried so much. Best Queen ever.
She said it right - it´s a passion - more than make up, more than costumes, more than experience. I am so sorry for Her loss! Her mother would be soooo proud (now She is proud from heaven). Sasha is fabulous.
She's one of the most beautiful, stunning, creative, down to earth contestants of Rpdr herstory, I'm so happy she won, she deserved it! She's a true inspiration
By FAR the most gorgeous I've ever seen her look. Her makeup is immaculate and that hair!! That dress!!! I need a sit down makeup tutorial on this and I have to know where that wig came from. And who made this dress. Seriously, the entire look is perfection.
