Yea lots of Scotts out there 10th most popular name in UK. It can be Irish, Scottish and English. My DNA shows up in the boarder of Scotland and England.
ThatGuy, they cleared the Scottish lowlands and forced the people over to Ulster, the lowland clearances. So many Scottish and English borderers names still in Northern Ireland. Many left for America, decades later, up to 400k. Read some good books on it, I’m sure you have too? The lowland clearances are rarely spoken about, they were however brutal. Good to speak to a fellow Ulster Scot or as you guys call us Scots/Irish. 🏴

When I go back to Great Britain I will just fly into Edinburgh and stay there, rent a car and drive down to the border where the Scott clan is from. I would love to see we’re my roots are from and visit the Scott clan Chief. See if he wants to trade some land I own in Scottsdale AZ. Haaaaaaa

Yea my family is from the boarder I read a book called “Steel Bonnets” very informative about families that lived on the boarders back 300 years ago. I hear most of the border family’s do not recognize the king or queen of England?

I believe all the Johnstone and Johnson’s ect. we’re actually Vikings that came over and occupied the far northern regions and eastern regions of Scotland. Jorgensen also Viking name.
Could be but Scott, Kerr, Douglas, and a few more were key clans on the boarders. Read a book called Steel Bonnet’s it tells a bunch of stories about the clans on the border 2 to 3 hundred years ago. Scott clan was first recorded in early 1100’s on the border. The original Scot name was even earlier. Interesting book.
