Joshua and Katie actually started dating in first season in real life according to an interview that Joshua gave and then a year after they broke up the writers wrote their love story on screen which he said was a bit difficult to do with an ex at the beginning but then they became friends afterwards.
Ah, so they wrote that into the script then - Dawson liked Joey (but took him until the end of Season 1 to realise), but she liked Pacey (He DOES have bigger biceps!) & Dawson couldn't deal. Cool, thanks👍
Joshua Jackson seems typical attention seeker extrovert, while James Van Der Beek the quiet introvert ones who has difficulties express his feeling. And Katie, as woman, she just go with the more expressive person. Then the off-screen becoming sour reflected into on-screen. Yeah, being actors it queit hard. Good actors need to dealt that like dislike feeling burried deeply from on screen. Let alone they are just late teens early 20s, dont expect much. Even the middle age actors still struggling differentiant onscreen to off screen
@subwayfelloffDawson had the perfect home and perfect family and was the arrogant spoiled only child that’s why. He never took accountability for his actions. Pacey thought the worse in himself and was constantly apologizing for his mistakes and taking accountability for his actions. Pacey was the one who was abused at home and still turned out to be an outstanding man of character.
@subwayfelloff You don' understand why Dawson was hated? He didn't like Joey, he just didn't want Pacey to have her. He only wanted her when he saw her with Pacey, then he guilt tripped her, and gas lit her, into staying away from Pacey because he was jealous. You need to watch the show again.
Just finished rewatching DC! Well have only seen two seasons in my teens, so I was pretty excited about so many "new" seasons! Soo sad it's over! 😭 It's a feeling of loss, of emptyness and lonelyness everytime a favourite show ends!
Katie Holmes was always so gorgeous. I watched the show because all the girls said I looked & acted like Pacey. It was very surprising when I watched the show & he would say many of the things I would say. Very odd. I also had an affair with a teacher but I was 18 when that happened, so it was legal.
YESS! the chemistry seems undeniable...I feel like they are meant to be together...nothing seems to stick for either and not because of lack of commitment...I just wish they would get back together already...they can have a nice, blended family since they both have daughters.
It was meant to happen! I wish it would have happened. I would really love to have a girlfriend who I love and connect as much with as he did with her. First, sorry for my bad english. Very stupid video! Kevin Williamson created the show with Dawson as the main carachter and Dawson and Joey as THE couple of the show. Then he left the show and it just became a soap opera without a real direction with Joey as the main carachter, period.
josh and james, from what i read back then they were not fighting over katie but they use to go for the same movie roles. so there was that and they were young. but yea it took the dawson and pacy freinship away.

i agree, BUT if people dont want to work together and you dont want to fire either, you kind of have to deal but yea if the story true they were acting like kids. but then they were young famous and somewhat rich.
you might be to young but remember at the time dawson creek was huge, both did theater moives, josh skull, and james varisy blue, i think they both thought they be movies star within a few years. and they were kind of fighting for roles.
THis is what i dont like about series - they have to pollute the story with the real life romances instead of sticking to the original story. the same happened with chad michael murray and sophia bush on one tree hill
Well, for me it depends... I am really happy we've got true love ship endgame for Joey&Pacey. But I can't stand they've changed endgame ship for Vampire diaries to delena. And Sometimes those shows are going on for too long so things got so af messy and finale becomes rushed and unsatisfying
I think it was good choice. I find is better to change the ending if something else works better. I don't like when some shows stick with original couple, just because they were first. They should do what works best for the show, storytelling and audience.
@@destinychild4659 well, in Hart of Dixie I actually loved that the obvious from the pilot endgame couple (George and Zoe) was replaced by Zade (Zoe and Wade, who should be just a little adventure, a stone on the road) cause their chemistry is undeniable and they really worked better and more interesting. I think, it's really should be decided in each case differently. Just, sometimes you can disagree with writers' choices...

@@JulieStardoll When it came to Dawson's Creek, I don't think it had anything to do with their real-life romance. They had great chemistry. That could have happened whether they were involved or not. Kevin said they tried to make it first Dawson and Joey being endgame, but it just didn't feel right.
It wasn’t Dawson creek,it should be Paceys or joeys creek. I saw the sparks between,Joshua and Katie . Katie an Joshua wanted to have pacey and Joey together , We wanted pacey and Joey ,not Dawson and Joey .
Like I could feel their chemistry oozing out in the screen. Like they were the best. I predicted they would be together way before they actually got together. Honestly I couldn't imagine Joey with Dawson. Dawson was honestly too much of a man child. He was a bit selfish back then. I couldn't see any positive point in him. Joey and Pacey were meant to be. Finally got to watch almost all of Dawson's Creek. Halfway through the 6 season. Cool. My daughters and I can't stand Joey, in so many ways. It's been building since the second season. OMG. Interesting. Curious how
Completely agree. Joey was one of my favorite characters when the series came out and I was younger. Now as an adult as I watch it, she is insufferable.

So….they cut Dawson and Pacey’s scenes together bc of fighting together in real life ? Good grief. Like they can’t be professionals. What a joke. The show would’ve been better if they had more interactions and that best friend relationship was allowed to grow in the show .

And their rival is usually described as the awful, boring and uninteresting guy compare to their rival/best friend.
