Just placed an order! Was curious, though. Is it possible to set the RGB lights to indicate the battery level? Since each grip has its own battery/battery level, as well as their own lights, it would be a really neat way to display their respective battery levels without having to check in the app. So for instance, 100-75% would be green, 75-50% would be yellow, 50-25% would be orange, 25-15% would be red, and 15% and below would be blinking red. If they don't have it, I really hope they add it in a later app-update!

There's a light warning to indicate low battery level, it's possible that there will be more updates in the future

Maybe do a review with various thick cases and large phones next time. 90% of people use phones cases, its a bit silly to not include by this point.

I got really excited about this and was considering buying one and just as im about to look it up he mentions that they aren't compatible with folding phones and all my excitement dies lol. It feels like theres no good controller grips for folding phones or small tablets and that sucks because honestly any phone small enough to actually fit in those grips doesn't have a large enough screen to be worth gaming on in the first place.

I really want to keep this controller but I does not fit the camera bump side of my pixel 8 pro with a case on.. on the non camara side its perfect. if they could have made it just a "LITTLE" deeper or had removeable rubber pads it would have been perfect but as of now on one side of my controller it can easily pop off. All the buttons feel great. Another neat addon would have been a bridge that would allow for it to be put into a standard controller mode.

Just the comment I was looking for. Was wondering how it would fit with the camera bump because Gamesir's other controllers accommodate the bump nicely while this one doesn't look like it does. I may have to pass on this one

@@ralphluis9519 Without the case it does fit the camera bump side. but given the phone is so slick it does not hold it well. Note I am using a TORRAS Magnetic & Stand for Google Pixel 8 Pro Case. I REALLY wish it fit correctly the controller felt so good.

I haven't tried this one yet, but I do own multiple controllers from GS including the G8 and the X4's predecessor the X3 which was the first product I got from them. Id say the G8 would probably beat the X4 out slightly because you are getting a more full sized controller and it's not Bluetooth. Outside of not wanting to take off their phone cases, I don't see why anyone would want Bluetooth over wired yet there are always requests for it on GS's channels. Even here he was talking about worrying he might damage his port but that's exactly why GameSir always uses the flippy USB c connector so that doesn't happen. The X4 like the X3 does give you way more customization though and I'm glad they made a new type of case for it cause the G8 and X2s did not get a case which sucked. Though I can put the X2S in my X3 case. Overall it's really going to be up to you and what features you want, but if comfort is your main concern, the G8 really is the best out of GS phone controller lineup.

I like my razer Kishi. But i think i'll check out another solution like the backbone one. I can see the playstation portal dropping to 180€ at select sales already. Might just get that instead of the backbone. My wifi connection is proper.

If you ONLY play PS5 then the Portal is cool. But if not then I'd go with something like this Gamesir or even the G8 Galileo (or it's redmagic clone)

G8 and x4, x4 is better if you have a phone cooler. Ex. If you have Rog phone 8 with aero active cooler. You can use x4 with it. One thing i dont like about x4 is the dpad. Its so sensitive or small when you press it sometimes diagonals are also being pressed.

Cool idea, poor execution... I like the magnetic thing to make it occupy less space and to not have a clamp in the middle that could break over time with usage, but then they put TWO clamps on the top of each side to make up for it? Then, cool that it has Bluetooth, but I'd rather having it leech some battery from my phone while using it than having to remember to recharge another thing on top of the ones I already have. The usb connection is also good to reduce the input lag during cloud gaming. The mechanical switches for the action button then are not good (for me at least). I tried them in other controllers, as well as membrane ones. The mechanical ones are just too uncomfortable... To make it short, the Gamesir Galileo G8 is a much much better option. If it only would have had the usb-c port on the left side, it would have been perfect for foldable phones too

Also very bad marketing promotion, they said it only works for Android. But the real thing is... It actually works for IOS & PC!! They didn't tell anything about the other 2 Bluetooth mode which is Blue mode and Joycon mode

The v-touch feature of the X4 Aileron is not compatible with iPhone. Turtle Beach offers an iPhone only Atom controller.

It does work on iphone, ive tested it on my 14 You have to use the other Bluetooth mode which you can turn it on by just pressing the combination button but the v-touch feature only works on Android, just like the other gamepad/controller
