I was 6 years old at the time of this performance. I was not listening to the Residents at this time but I was however religiously watching the short animation 'Skywales' repeatedly and training my ears and eyes for my future taste in music. It is clearly the main reason I eventually got into the Residents. It is so like them: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zVmKhNG6S3o.html
Brilliant, thank you! I only have the cassette-version of this legendary concert, but I think I am about to buy the whole show from NRK Aktivum (the Norwegian public broadcastservice). Expensive, but absolutely worth it... :-)
I'm glad the NRK (the norwegianbroadcast service) has this archived and still availabe on their website, as they have a habit of taking down things like this. They took down Demons dance alone I think And it still blows my mind that this was shown on TV!
it's amazing that they could run this whole show from those 2 Emulators... look at the big box of floppy discs, would have been a mission of constantly loading and swapping discs all night
ever been five minutes into something, and can't but help be pissed off at the camera person? its like watching someone else's footage, from your dance recital. all close ups of their stupid kid, and missing out on the choreography *still thankful it was filmed and posted here
Had the same annoyance. Why are we seeing the people behind the skeletons and not the skeletons themselves dancing? At least we get to see our boy Snakefinger shred. Also, what the hell is that loud feedback noise? Sounds like an industrial piano.
@@Mtv-get-off-thee-air residents are a category in itself, like magma or paul chain or the shaggs, or the slits. What I did was choose do to limited space and put them in my psychidelic tub, along with Klaus Schultz, even mc5
@@Mtv-get-off-thee-air yeah, it sort of fits better than anything else. What's weird is the stuff made with instruments in the 70s/80s sounds the same as the later stuff done on computers and the fan made stuff. It doesn't change - and it is f-ing dark. It's the minds eye, get it, haha
