Lady Fractic did a decent job with the german pronounciation. Sure, it was kinda rough around the edges and still very much accompanied by an american accent, but I wondered whether she had some german language training at some point, as native (american) english speaker usually do a much worse job when they're not familiar with german...and that's pretty much valid for any untrained foreign speaker in any language. Still, good job.
Every day can feel like Christmas Day when one watches the Retro Show. Another great video of nostalgic bliss to sweeten and enhance our days. Magical through and through. As for the Red Dwarf ships, there were two main support vessels used"The Blue Midget" and "Star Bug" although the latter ship went through many changes and incarnations. There was also "Car Bug" in the Back to Earth season of Red Dwarf. A smart car was done up to look like a road-worthy "Star Bug". Perifractic becomes a heartbreaker to match Ladyfractic and the ever-so-adorable Junifractic. Thank you all for the continued joy your shows bring.
Thank you Fractic family and all our love to Babyfractic. As always a great show that brightens our day and as the Beach Boys songs say" Good vibrations" you guys are the best.
@@RetroRecipes yeah, how it happened, what it was like working as Anakin's stand-in, that kind of thing. Ep 4 was the first movie I saw, first record I bought, etc. The BTS stuff fascinates me and you have a great knack for making the stories fun and interesting! SW to me is like Knight Rider to you - except you are literally in the films living a little bit of my nostalgia dreams! 😂 Also am I correct in remembering ladyfractic had a voice role somewhere along the way? Thought I read that somewhere?
Aww! Thanks, guys. My mum will love watching herself on your show! I won't record her reaction, though, as I think it would create a perpetual dotty old lady machine.
That guy screaming behind your sofa, made me first think of those soldiers in Beach Head II screaming "AAaaaaagh", "Medic" and such. The second thing it made me think of was the death-scream in Impossible Mission... there's another one in the game "Chimera" I believe. Plplplplplplplease (Roger Rabbit voice) do an episode with as many of those C64 in-game voices as you can find. Plplplplplplplease! Do it for me. 🧡🤣
If you are planning on getting a NES then you might also consider in trying the Open Nes Project. As the name says it's an opensource version of the NES, the main board can be create by(for instance) PCBWay and solder all the components to the board yourself. It could turn into a whole project and even 3D print a custom shell for it, or find a suitable after market one.
LOVE the weather channel link! I had been enjoying these all last year on youtube remembering all the hotels having the weather channel on tv in our rooms. Something comforting about it when you wake up in the morning and hear the music and see the weather. NOW to actually one that gives me weather in my area with the classic music is AWESOME! Thank you so much for posting the link - bookmarked!
Fun bit of trivia: PDF originated as a Display Postscript hack that a NeXT employee named Sam quickly threw together in an afternoon. Before he went to NeXT, he worked for my local Atari store Paradise Computers in San Luis Obispo in California. When he was there, he created SGS-Net which networked Atari STs together using the standard MIDI port.
Thanks for the feedback. Was this at any particular point? We do have it a little louder during the unboxing as that segment can feel a bit slow otherwise...
@@RetroRecipes maybe at the unboxing part ...usually i watch YT with my headphones on. No problems so far until I used our 5.1 Hometheater with this video and I found myself fiddeling with equalizersettings - really annoying for me, but as I said - no worries with the headphones on 😉
Meow ware. Cute, Peri. I’m now thinking of asking PCBWay if they could print replacement tone generator chips for my Roland JX-8p synthesizer. The DCO-1 square wave generator stopped working before this thing came into my possession in January 2010. If the chip itself cannot be repaired, could it be replaced? And, could it be done with just a schematic instead of having to provide the defective chip?
4:31 fun fact, Pringles in the US are technically called "crisps"; in 1975 the FDA decided that the company couldn't call them “chips” because they're made of dried potatoes, so the company decided to use the term “crisps” instead.
This is really a nice Retro Show again. I love the Retro stuff. I'm quite into Retro stuff too. As I don't have the space to have real Retro hardware, I just emulate the various Commodore Amiga computers trough WinUAE and I play the older Retro MS-DOS games trough DOSBOX. I had a Commodore Amiga 500, a MSX 1 and later a MSX 2. I also had a 486 PC. I didn't had them all together but somehow after each other. I don't know the years that I had them anymore, but I did have a lot of fun with them. I only have a modern PC now, which I built by myself with a little help from others.
Very fun, guys! This one flew by. I dig that Delorean. The funboxings are very interesting pieces. I’ll need to look a couple of those up and see more about what they do. (Gadget geek here.) BTW, we loved LF’s reaction to her finding out she’s closer kin than she thought! 😂 Also, Junifractic, we ❤ you (she’s such a sweetie). LF, we noticed a slight hair change, it’s really cool, very chíc!
Great episode and good news from Germany: I got the job at Siemens :) I persuaded them to rewrite the OS in Commodore Basic. May translation: "Weil Papi nicht swiped" -> "Because Dad does not swipe" (I guess the thing we do with smartphones).
You "need more women in STEM" i completely agree. But, sadly, my experience is that many women don't want to work in STEM. It's certainly changing but it's slow. In the UK, most early learning (infants and junior schools) are almost exclusively run by women and I didn't see much encouragement to do STEM when my three children fed through the system.
27:42 - means: When daddy doesn't swipe. underneath it: "Billboards are seen by everyone." (advertisement for billboard advertising) The Commodore billboard is in Kölner Str. 149 in Düsseldorf to be exact
The only thing I ever asked for, for Christmas was an electric train set, the year I got one, while setting it up my sister roller bladed over the bit that connects the power to the rails breaking it and it never worked
Amazing show as always full of jokes and puns and even LadyFractic is getting in on the act nice. Have to say i like the look of the new Delorean all i need to do now is get the money for one haha. Keep up the great work and as always take care and have a great weekend 🙂🙂
Excellent video both! - Red Dwarf had Starbug. 👍... which could easily take on a Viper 😜 - Go to red alert! Are you sure Mr Rimmer sir?! It would mean changing the bulb.
6:18 - RIP High Magistrate Greef Karga 6:51 - Ladyfractic better be on Cameo so that I can request she hums Duel of the Fates in its entirety. 7:33 - Oh? Perryfractic worked on Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace? Playing Gavin Sykes and who was also a stand-in for Hayden Christensen who played Anakin Skywalker, father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, who would ultimately become Darth Vader? Really? First time I hear about it on the Retro Recipes channel 😉
Thew new DeLorean's design captures nothing of the fascination of the old one. They just made a futuristic-looking car with wing doors. But that wasn't what made the DeLorean a timeless design.
Just came across your awesome channel. Flippin' loving it. The new 64 build episode is a thing of beauty. Mentally spending my available funds as I type.
@1:07 I still have my Omnibot too and it still works :). I wanted a Qrio back in the day but they were Discontinued before release :(. Please make Sony revisit this and make availible to everybody ( not just rich ones ).
It might be the one Joe owns or it might be the park only car. The reason KITT was over water is because, even elevated, when they had it on a stand. people tried to hotwire the car and take off with it. one hotwiring attempt while the keys were in the car from what I was told but after it went over water the attempts to really drive stopped. Though many smashed the turbo boost button until the pod panel fell off.
Everyone in Germany laughed about that Job listing. But it makes sense. Railways are used partly more than thirty years and they need someone to operate it! But the listing was online for only 4 days. Then they changed it because the listing was too inaccurate.
I was in court the other day (suing someone, not because I'm a crook) and I noticed they still ran Windows 3.1 on a few of their computers. I think, I mean I suppose it could possibly be Windows NT 3.5 but they wouldn't let me fiddle. Either, way ancient. Windows 3.1 was awful btw, and nothing will change my mind. It ate memory, absorbed HD space, and even on fast hardware _it_ wasn't.
5:44 Ohh Whaa, is not something Australians say and i cringed watching it. I have seen other videos with her in them and i cant bare to sit more than a minute through them before i stop watching. She tries way too hard as you can tell by the way she talks. Loved the show. All the best guys.
I'm sure those kids are having such emotional reactions because their parents were playing hardball and acting dismissive like they were never going to get what they wanted. Good job torturing your kids, guys. ;)
