They were not fully mature to comprehend how the world works and what are the nitty gritty of politics. And how they can be used by other unethical persons of the society for their own benefits. And they lacked the understanding of how law should take its course in public places if something unlawful happens.

'No one discusses unions or parties in zombieland, everyone wants to get out first. Democratizing and giving more power to the people, in Weimar Republic could resulted only in Nazis taking over the country, as they were the loudest voice at that time. We are living in Weimar Republic, giving more power to the majority will result in what we are seeing right now. If you were living in Nazi Germany, would have debated unions and capitalism, or would you have said first get rid of Nazis, then we will get back to our party debates? Its very easy to advocate for student unions or democratization, as long as you don't have to wake up in your hostel only to realize that crocodiles are eating a student next door. For unions and democratization, you have to have a place at least somewhat like the Germany of 2024, where the right wing, although they want to kick immigrants out, but you don't see a hundred Germans ripping apart a non-German on the streets'

I think Student Union should be existing and participating in active politics because anyways that age group has the voting right and apparently gets used by parties as "youthiya" so its better if they get the right to express it fully so that in a period of 5 yrs they get out of the university as better informed or even if ill informed by "leftist" ideas they will learn from them better than the current ways. Here in India most of the popular leaders emerged from student movements across political spectrum - Kanhaiya, Lalu Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Arun Jaitly & what not. They mobilized the country against dictatorial Indira, then against corruption with India Against Corruption movement leading to formation of Aam Admi Party & recently protests against Modi. Existence of Student Unions shouldn't even be a question lol

All i can say is, WHY? Studion unions ko wapis lana matlab universities mae BADMASHI wapis lana, students ko parhai likhai se hata kar pawns bana dena to be used by these corrupt political parties. Who can forget the times of PSF, Jamiat etc. Already our education system is completely messed up, jo thora bota sakoon ab aya hai universities mae, wo political unions wapis lakar tabah kyu karna hai?

I paused video at 1:26 to address something, Asad bhai, you asked that why now sexual harassment is on rise and the my brother answered that because administrations are over powered. Well, with respect I would like to disagree a little bit, I mean he is half right. See, point is if someone from student union has chair in administration or lets say in policy making, would anyone can guarantee, that person would not take part in sexual harassment? Well, I think like most of the problems in Pakistan has only one solution and this is strict, unbroken, accountability. I think, having a chair for a student union mamber on policy makers table isn't going to erase these kind of issues from root.

Pathans and Balochis doing ethnic politics in Punjab University is a real problem as the Jamiat guy rightly pointed out. However, Punjabis doing ethnic politics is Punjab university is the very definition of right-wing. Without a trace of Punjabi nationalism in Punjab, regressive ethnicities either gravitate towards their violent brands of nationalism or exploit the locals under the umbrella of leftism.

Student councils and unions exist throughout the world. They are even shown in Japanese anime as well. Issue is Pakistan laws are not enforce able and too many loopholes that can be deadly for innocent bystanders students who have nothing to do with politics. I see a significant rise in violence in education institution because lets not forget dirty politician next generation will be studying with the students which might empower them more than they are already.

1 hr 11 min: true that any political and religious leader usually has that hero type mentality that he is the only problem solver of people. I think it’s dependent psychology of people which make that specific hero, a deity to be worshipped in Supra human manner. It’s all related to low self worthlessness of followers and perceiving a leader as an ultimate savior for all those solutions which followers can also do but they never believe in their own worth and power. Followers start the cult, not the leader and almost all the leaders fail in preventing their followers to go into this sort of hero worshiping. A TRUE HERO would NEVER let his followers make a cult as he would want people to become mentally independent. One who wants such followers k wo fans ya worshipping kerein wo khud ek bimaar human being hey, hero nai ho sakta esa kabhi bhi. A real hero would train People in such manner that they self lead themselves and any pursuit ought to be purpose oriented based on right set of principles , not at all one man show(persona). In case of IK, his followers (PTI) proved that they can work without him and they are following IK ideology for their ultimate freedom. No other contemporary political party followers have this zeal and freedom of mind.

Extensive research is required with a detailed plan for this movement to remerge. But till than I'm totally against it as student politics and violence go hand in hand. Lahore and Karachi have a rich history in this and all of them had a tragic end. A miracle story might be their but revenge, death, permanent trauma etc. Students should focus on gearing up with the skills, building fraternities and bring forth positive change. All these respectable individuals have not seen the darkness that looms with this and talking from air conditioned rooms is such another time pass activity.

Don't know why ethnic right wing is seen as a taboo in Pakistan, when we've clearly seen religious right wing doesn't work. The political right should not distinguish between Muslims (96.5%) and Non-Muslims (3.5%) but between Indus natives (Sindhi locals 16%, Punjabi locals 55%) and foreigners (Pashtun invaders 15%, Baloch invaders 4% and Muhajir refugees 7.5%).
