Wooow Shorn Lagos is so beautiful didn't expect it would be so clean the building's are beautiful ❤😂Virginia in Kingston Jamaica 🇯🇲 blessed love..pray your family is safe and well ❤😂😂
U didn't expect it to be clean? Been black doesn't mean Lagos a black nation should be dirty. All of u commenting from any part of South America and North America that are black mostly left from Lagos shores over 200 years ago. You all should be visiting Africa don't depend on what western news tell you about Africa nobody lives on tree🌳🌲🌴 even monkey🐒🐵 in Africa doesn't live on trees🌲🌳🌴🌲🌳🌴🌲🌳🌴 as western always make u guys believe that Africans live on tree🌳🌲🌴 and hole Lol Africa are wonderful and beautiful continent all 54 countries in Africa continent are beautiful on their own.
Thank you for showing Nigeria. I love how you embrace the culture with warmth and love and showcasing your husband's culture. You are always a warm person and embrace all. Suh di ting go!
Beautiful and excellent video, with a beautiful vlogger (inside and out). Like you said, there is ''no dulling'' in Lagos, as they say over there. Did some clubbing there back in the day, and it's a hell of a vibe in Lagos. God bless the fast developing African giant, Nigeria and the rest of Africa.
Enugu, Owerri (Imo State ) and Uyo (Akwa Ibom State) too. Beautiful cities in Nigeria. Nigeria is a big country with many commercial and capital cities.
I'm really ashamed of the guy you asked to be showing you around Lagos because he's a zombie, he's a journey just come, he doesn't know anything about Lagos at all. The questions you were asking him, he could not provide the real answers to them. You asked him between Victoria Island and Ikoyi, which of them has more rich people? He said it's Victoria Island. I wonder if there's any other location in Lagos that house more richer people than Ikoyi. All the richest billionaires(Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Otedola, E money and co) you hear about that are from Nigeria most of them lives in Ikoyi, Banana Island precisely, including president Tinubu. And again, you asked him what's the difference between Eko hotel and Eko Atlantic? He could not differentiate them at all, his replied was that, they are all buildings. The difference is that, Eko hotel is a hospitality where people lodge and have fun. While Eko Atlantic is a city that's undergoing a construction. Whenever you saw a building and asked him what's that for, he always says it's an office, he doesn't even knows the names of the buildings and what they are use for. Next time when you come to Lagos, make sure you reach out to me so I can show you around very well and also, I'm gonna be telling you the names of everything and their differences. Imagine, he said he lives in Lagos and he doesn't even know any club name and their locations. What a wawu.
There are a lot of Jamaicans in this comment! Welcome my bredas n sistas. We love yall! Nice video, and thanks for all the work that you do to bridge African descent around the globe
V.I is more of offices, hotels, club's and businesses while ikoyi is more of residential buildings so ikoyi has more weathier people than v.i and also Nigeria is left hand drive
She didn't go to all d places in vi just two or three roads, she even came back to where she vegan at some point she didn't even reach ligali ayorinde, Saka tinubu, ozumbambadiwe or tiamiuyu or even oniru
It because the media always show Naija especially Lagos as bad. The coastal highway will open up many some regions and state in the country. Thank you brother.
Wow! Arwa! I am too impressed by this your vlog. I just love how organic you flowed with my people. Even me that is Nigerian does not just see people on the road side and just flowing with them. You rock!
Shorn, Cotonou pineapple is truly sweet. It is from the neighbouring Benin Republic which is the closest country to Nigeria from the Lagos axis. I decided to explain because I found out that you did not understand what the fruit seller was saying.
kola is literally called BITTER KOLA! Kola nut is probably the most pungent, potent and caffeinated food in the human food register (and we love it across all ethnicities). We Nigerians need to be warning people because they see it in the movies and think its fun and games LOL. The potency is why it is so symbolic for us as a food. Bottom line, Kola will probably be the most bitter thing you'll ever taste (which is why people eat VERY small chunks and sit it down). Also FYI, the "Cola" in Coca-Cola derives from Kola nut, it originally contained kola nut extract. Which is why Coke got that underlying bitterness.
Vist Eko atlantic in lagos There's different between Eko hotel and Eko atlantic, Eko atlantic is a whole island on it own Pls try and vist you will love it
Victoria Island is always clean. It's the Central Business District of West Africa. All the Banks and the blue chip companies have their head office their. That's another variation of tiger nut.
Please our wife, stop using your left hand to give or collect something from people, use your right hand. Secondly, don't eat the Kola nut. It's for old men.
Just explain to the person you are giving something with your left hand that you right hand is occupied that's why you used your left and that's all. When you use your left hand it is offensive. Most people won't tell you but keep it in mind against you. Some will outright scold you.
Arwa, Naija has 36 states, Lagos is just one of them. Please don't just restrict your visit to only Lagos. If it's possible, visit Abuja, Kano, Uyo, Enugu, etc to explore Nigeria better Thabk you dear.
Lagos,is gateway to Nigeria. It's economy is bigger than some African countries. Once you see Lagos, you see Nigeria, because all Ethnicity are present, all religious bodies, etc. Home of entertainment, (Afrobeat,Nollywood)night life, beaches etc Lagos is a mini Nigeria. You think people just wake up pack their bags and just head to a country just like that, without research of their choice of location. Nigeria, generally is a beautiful place to be,when tourists come to Lagos on tour,I don't think that should be an issue to other Nigerians. You don't expect someone to tour the whole country.
@@tincaisland1374Your assumption is totally wrong. How do you people think other cities aren't part of Nigeria? Lagos is just one of the diversities of Nigeria. When she traveled to other regions she would understand our differences more better and appreciate our diversity. Even if she cannot travel to other cities she should be aware and say it to her audience to know that Lagos isn't only Nigeria.
Shorn, I see you stopping by to buy Kola nuts fascinate me. It's also found in Jamaica - a courtesy of the legacy from our ancestors. It's bitter when chewed as they say. Curiously I followed closely to hear what they said about. And closely that is identifiable as it is also medicinal. It is used too to relieve aliments like poisonous intake among other things unfortunate. We also used it as regular beverage mix with ginger to boost energy. In Jamaica we called Kola nuts 'Bissy". It nice seeing that Nigeria is not much different except for the right-side driving to our left-side driving. Thanks, Shorn for taking us to Nigeria but be safe when walking with you back turn to oncoming vehicles you can't see from behind. Jah Bless 🙏🏿
@@mosesi.elioku73 You seem to be referring to the driver's position inside the vehicle. Isn't it? However, I'm trying to understand something here: if inside the vehicle the driver's position is on the left-hand side, the vehicle heads towards the right-hand side according to road rules as seen in Nigeria as the video reflects as it is in USA, Canada etc. That's why I said right hand driving to denote the direction of the vehicle travelling. Whereas in other countries like UK, Japan, and others including Jamaica the driver's position is on the right-hand side of the vehicle but the direction the vehicle heads, is to the left according to road rules, why the phrase left-hand or left side driving.
Sister is a blessing 🙌 to be your friend I don't talk too much but I love your energy love is everything just stay bless and God will always be with you love always
We Nigerians are not good at drinking coconut water. Most of times we pour it away. Infact when I was quite young we were told by my grandparents that drinking coconut water will make one not to be brilliant. If you want to insult some that is not brilliant you say with your coconut head or your head like coconut.
Hi I’m watching from Germany, why don’t you visit Abuja and give us some beautiful views of the capital city?????????? We’ve had enough of Lagos, cheers GODSWILL is my name!👍
Our government never pays attention to details. Either you see a good road with an open gutter filled up with stagnant dirty water or dilapidated sidewalk and gutter covers. Sometimes piles of rubble piled up on the sidewalk.
Many Africans think Lagos and Abuja is all about Nigeria. Please visit these cities... 1. Port Harcourt 2. Uyo 3. Calabar 4. Enugu 5. Owerri 6, Ibadan 7. Abeokua 8. Osogbo 9. Kaduna 10. Kano 11. Jos 12. Benin. And many beautiful cities across Nigeria.
@shorn, why use a foreign guy on your thumbnail? When did Nigeria become so poor that it's only foreigners that are the occupants of the rich areas? That's really low
@@Danorous maybe you are brain damaged. What Victoria is alive that she should own Nigeria? What city in uk do we own? Only mumu celebrates their oppressor
your driver did a terrible job of explaining the difference between eko hotels and eko atlantic, he said they're all buildings smh, the difference is that eko hotels is indeed a hospitality outfit, but eko atlantic is more of a city, or gated community with residential and commercial outfits
Let me answer your question about coconut water in Nigeria. In Nigeria they believed Coconut water can cause you to have a derained Brain. Only can find near beaches because we are not 100% Tropical country. I stay in Philippines and i drink coconut water everyday. #Naija❤
Arwa immediately you pick up that Kolanut I was laughing and I said wait until she put it in her mouth.Anyway Kolanut contains caffeine, which can increase alertness and energy levels but it’s bitter.
Happy to hear your discloser, brother on Kola nut. I know of the trees, especially in the rural side of Jamaica. The nuts are called Bissy there. They're also chewed raw to relieve any bad ailment affecting the internal. It's also used to make hot or cold beverages with ginger or other spices for regular as well as for medicinal purposes.
That tall building right there is kuramo, just opposite eko Atlantic and a 700km road construction is ongoing over there, you didn't visit eko Atlantic
@@OlierOnahThey slavers brought them along with our ancestors when they brought them as slaves. They figured they would want the same foods they had in Africa. Most of the slaves brought to Jamaica overall were from Nigeria. We also have a High named Calabar high school that honors our Nigerian ancestors. We have all the different yams, okra, and cassava. Many Jamaicans cook their food with a lot of hot pepper as well.
@@missalwaysfortunate Jamaican and Brazil still holds her African culture with high regards compare to America . The Calabar high school was named after a port city in Nigeria and there Abeokuta village in Jamaica às well
Watching from the us but mentally in Morogoro or DodomaTanzania, or Abakaliki Nigeria... post script: mbona the mzungu in the thumbnail. Sikuona hata mmoja ndani video hii
Difference between Eko Atlantic City and Eko Hotels is that Eko Atlantic is a new neighbourhood achieved by reclaiming land from the sea. Eko Hotels is a large hotel complex that had loads of hotel buidings (hence the Hotels, not Hotel), with each trying to target the different stratospheres of the affluence class from Upper Middle Class to Internationally wealthy. Some of the buildings in the complex are where Foreign Presidents, Executives and the likes of Beyonce would book when in Lagos. While other buildings are for close-to-normal affluent people who can afford some luxury (e.g. a Nigerian working in the US/UK/Germany/Canada and earning $100K per year and coming to Nigeria on holiday). The Eko Hotels complex is about 800 metres away from Eko Atlantic City. They are not on the same site. They both have "Eko" in their names because (1) "Eko" is the local name for Lagos; Lagos was the name the Whites gave it when visiting before colonialism, and (2) Both estates [i.e. Eko Atlantic and Eko Hotels] are majorly owned by the same investors (the Chagourys and Lagos State government). The buildings (i.e. 2 white and orange towers) you asked about at 4.45 is owned by the owners of Eko Hotel, but is not part of Eko Hotels complex. They built it as serviced apartments and rented the entire building to Total Oil Nigeria, who put some of their big staff (especially expatriates) there. Victoria Island is mostly a Business and Night Entertainment District with very few residential apartments in it (as a matter of fact, if you do see some, you will virtually only see posh flats to rent, not houses). Ikoyi is mostly a residential district with some businesses in the vicinity (and these tend to be very affluent and posh businesses). Ikoyi is where you can get houses and mansions to live in. As for kolanut, no it is not sweet! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It is Nigerian version of coffee. It is eaten to get the effects caffeine gives.
Who cares? It was built according to it's purpose,if it were to be taller than that they would've built it,they aren't doing any building competition 🙄
I'm Nigerian 🇳🇬 and I haven't even seen this part before because I'm from the South-south...I like your videos.i have also been to Kenya which very beautiful with welcoming people too🇳🇬👏
