Yes you are right and wrong. His usual net worth sits at $10 billion but it fluctuates because his money is based on assets. Most likely the global pandemic has caused a decline in his net worth. But it is still not small boy money. We covered the story on our channel.

Aliko Dangote needs to diversify his investments and move on to Silicon Valley. This guy at his peak in 2014, he was worth US$25 billion. He has since lost more than two thirds of his net worth. He needs to move away from sugar and cement. If he’s not careful, very soon he would no longer be a billionaire. Judging from the past, that’s where this is going.

The only thing that o would add is that Dangote likes Atlanta GA, a lot! He spends time there & is seen there at least twice a year over the last 10yrs. At one point he had 2 properties there for a fact! I’m not sure if he STILL owns them as of TODAY but he was quoted in an interview saying that one of his top 5 places to visit that most wouldn’t believe is Atlanta GA.... Hey!, you like what you like.
The commentator asked what would you do if you were that rich? I'd hand out money to the poor. Build a city for the poor. Stores, restaurants, schools, hospital, clinic, church, gym, barber/ salon, newspaper, laundry, cleaner. Whatever it take to build a city that's what I'll do. So the people can have a way to work and make money and put it back in the city. Lawyers, Dr's, teachers, etc. I left out a lot of stuff. But anything that'll produce a city and I'll live there with them down to earth in a one or two bedroom flat. Nothing fancy just something simple me and the down trodden. Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he'll eat for a life time. The city will be called City of Love.
In general it is interesting and a little humbling seeing the few or several natives who has built success but, more importantly I hope that they have and are continuing helping and aiding their people and communities in the vital areas that need it. What I find more interesting is the foreigners who has amassed such a great fortune, particularly individual families. It is no secret that European powers collectively dominated the region as in much of the known world. In fact, some of their economies would not survive even today without continued wealth through bargaining deals/trades/one sided annual tributaries. Just is what it is, cant only blame the receiver the people have to get tired enough to push the controlling and sellout members out of power.
